disappointing! waste of time.
13 December 2008
I have watched the movie on first day not just for SRK,also for the director Aditya Chopra. The other two films directed by him was excellent and made a mile stone in Indian film industry. After watching the movie 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' it seems to me that it was made by some other person, not him. The film is based on a absurd story line. SRK has nothing to do with the same poor script. The song with so many popular Bollywood faces is now becoming common and boring. Its difficult to believe that people can make this kind of film in 2008. The movie in all aspect is a eye torture. Only Anushka Sharma is a little bit of breeze in this (bad)film.

you will be fascinated!

ekti jibon is based on a short Bengali story by Budhdhadeb Basu. The pictorial representation of that nice story is equally good. If you start it,you just forgot every thing and will be spellbound after you complete it.

The story is about a poor school teacher(Soumitra Chatterjee) and his family. He wants to write a complete Bengali dictionary but the job is seems to be impossible since he does not have money and references for this work. The project is becoming his passion and he is totally involved to collect words, article references and the way to publish it. He just spent his full life to complete his dream project. The movie is superbly directed by Raja Mitra. This is one of my best movie ever seen in Bengali.

excellent twist at the end

The story is about three prisoners and their life in jail captured by a documentary directer Juhi Chawla. As per as acting is concern: Jackie Shroff is average,Nagesh Kukunoor and Gulshan Grover is good,Juhi Chowla is brilliant and above all Naseeruddin Shah is excellent as usual. The script of the film is well written and directed it in a good way. The story comes to end with an unpredictable twist and we can see that how a single incident connects three different peoples for ever just like three walls in a room. The ending doesn't destroys the movie, it makes much more better. I saw almost all the films but this is probably the best movie directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.

Ramchand Pakistani is a story of a Hindu lower caste Pakistani boy and his father living near the border area. One day both the father and the son cross the border and arrested by Indian security. They spent several years in an Indian jail and the mother does not have any information what is happened to them. After some years only the son returns to his own village in search of his mother. The film is brilliantly directed but the story line is little bit pure. Both the father and Ramchand(younger) acted very well. The film has a good back ground score and the last song 'phir wohi raaste' is excellent with a good picturization.

A nice set of ghost stories for all ages.
12 November 2008
Kwaidan-the set of four complete ghost stories. All stories are not equally good but the over all treatment of the film is excellent. The title card is poetic. The language is not a problem to watch the film.

The four stories are 'Black Hair','The Woman in the Snow','Hoichi the Earless' and 'In a Cup of Tea'.I like all the films because its way of treatment, the color, the music and sets are so good for ghost stories. All the four stories are simple and really ghost stories not 'horror' film. Among the four films 'The Woman in the Snow' is a nice one and probably 'Hoichi the Earless' is the best. But again, all the four films are very nice to watch and those are for all ages.
