I read all three books once Maze runner came out... The first one was the most exciting, the second one somewhat and the third one from what I remember was zombie, zombie zombie... I was quite apprehensive about how they'd make it work in the movies...
But they did an amazing job! I wasn't expecting it at all, I couldn't see it in my head.
They captured the most memorable aspects of the book beautifully. I always pictured Newt as the most noble character from the book... That was portrayed beautifully in the final letter and the death scene.
The whole concept of Thomas being the cure was confusing enuf in the book... We are lead to believe that Thomas is the key but he'd have to be killed as the brain has to be harvested... Then again even if he was killed, there would be no cure...
But I kind of like the way it was adapted in the movie... I love how they emphasized the character of Thomas as the cure for a disease of the mind... Him being courageous, trust worthy, loyal, a good friend was depicted well in the movie.
And I have a newfound respect for this movie as compared to the first time I watched it when it came because I learnt that filming was delayed due to an accident.
I am so glad that they didn't replace the lead actor. I am so glad he came back to finish this even after the trauma.
I'll probably still watch this trilogy 10 years from now... It just wouldn't be the same if they'd left this incomplete or changed the lead.

Battle of the Year... somehow didn't have the soul of Stomp the Yard... should've killed Breezy off in the very beginning... that would have fixed it... But seriously... so disappointing... I don't know what went wrong... I was watching and hoping something would happen... and "second sucks" ??? Maybe the music is to blame... Maybe the whole concept of America representing all other countries was more of the focus... Maybe having the "Bring it on" star as the on-screen choreographer... Maybe the "You think you can dance" approach for the Dream Team... Is it a movie about team work?? I'm so confused... I think the major setback was in the end we don't know what's the movie about... Josh Holloway saved the movie, without whom the movie would have been unwatchable.

I promise... I was watching the movie really seriously until I heard rap... yes, that's correct, rap!! It was like cruising down the highway and a lightning bolt just hit you... jolting you awake. I loved the vivid colors and the very amusing music. I haven't read the book so it was nice not having to compare notes every single scene, it can get pretty annoying at some point. I wonder how Disney's Cinderella would be like with this soundtrack. I would love to hear Lana Del Ray's "young and beautiful" when Cinderella makes the entrance to the ball, and "crazy in love" during the dance. I can't quite digest it yet, its like trying to fry ice-cream in hot oil... you wonder if you can get away with doing something like that... but, this movie and its adorable soundtrack just did

had high expectations for this film, but was somewhat disappointed. The movie was too predictable. Some scenes in the film are not understood, like why would diablo kill his own wife and kids or did he kill them or not... The main character Sean would go to any lengths 'cos his wife got killed but shows no remorse when 3 of the officers who also may be somebody's loved one get killed when he lost control. I'm not sure what the endgame for the movie is, initially the story line seemed to be to stop drug trafficking, in the end i'm confused... so what exactly was achieved?? the casting... it's like nobody really clicks together... in fast and furious when Letty is killed and Dom goes after the killers, i'm moved, its believable, it seems justified. In this one it seems like just another scene to form a plot. It was still entertaining especially the shooting scenes.

I totally loved this movie. The plot is quite worn-out but the approach was fresh. I'm beginning to actually respect Zac Efron as an actor. The cast is also very good for this movie, though I felt Michelle Trachtenberg's character was a bit underplayed and hard to relate to. I don't think the Zac and Michelle combination worked out. I could've dealt with a little less romance between Zac and Leslie but what the hay, those were the funniest and most heartwarming moments. I've always adored Leslie's acting. She brightens up the screen. Sterling Knight was surprisingly adorable with really hilarious expressions.
A real plus in this movie is the script. It makes the movie worth watching over again unlike some other teen movies. I really enjoyed the script and the way it was delivered. Zac Efron was amazing, it caught me by surprise, 'You little punk... you don't talk to him that way...', and the basketball tirade that follows, was brilliantly and effortlessly executed. It was a joy to watch.
I think the slapping thing was the only part I'd like to fast forward. One slap would suffice. Maybe Zac's a fan of Johnny Depp, he was even trying to imitate Jack Sparrow but I'd beg Zac not to do it again, it wasn't funny, it was horrible. All in all, the movie was funny, sad, heartwarming and generally a feel-good movie.

Actually I didn't see Twilight coming. I haven't heard of or read the books and suddenly there was this huge buzz about Twilight the movie, Robert Pattinson, and I only watched the movie out of curiosity to see if it is all that it was hyped out to be. I really loved the movie, the cast was excellent and the R-Pat and KS made the movie worth watching.
I think the movie did a little bit more justice to Edward and Bella than the book, thanks to the on screen chemistry between Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson. They're such boring characters as far as the story and plot are concerned. The whole plot is drab and set in gloomy weather. After watching Twilight I thought the books will be magical but it was too boring. As boring as the characters are and the plot is, something did pull me in. I read the next two books. The Edward character really gets too boring and I was rooting for Jake the whole time. The entire suspense of it is whether Bella becomes a vampire and who changes her. Once I read the review of the fourth book, I had no interest in reading the book.
I'd watch the movies though, no matter what the plot is, and I really hope they make Bella a little bit more interesting than she is in the books and also in Twilight. I don't like the books mainly because of the way it is written, i just can't relate to it or something, but the cinematography is definitely better.
I still am quite confused why I watched Twilight over and over again, and am eagerly awaiting the next sequel when I really don't like the plot or the main characters.

An ending I hoped for

Let me start off by saying the show was awesome. This might contain some spoilers. If u're wondering why the sudden interest in Roswell after almost a decade, its 'cos of Twilight... the similarity between the two is undeniable, I mean, I was suddenly wanting to watch Roswell after I saw Twilight, and I'd forgotten all about Roswell by now. Anyways, after watching it again, I was again really let down with the ending.
So, okay, Max ends up with Liz, yeah, I was hoping for that too but after all that, big deal! There's a bigger picture of epic proportions here! Here's an ending I would've liked, a little far fetched perhaps... by the way, I haven't read the books. So, okay, Tess comes back with the baby, and the cover is blown, don't make her an alien on the run. Let the gov find out, I mean the good guys. The gov gives her 'n the baby protection. Then Max, Iz and Michael have no other choice but to approach them and confront them with the truth. Max exhibits his super powers and tells them that he is the King of another planet, etc, etc... and that Antar is in trouble. Then, all the people of the earth come to know of these aliens or at least the good guys in the gov not out to kill them. Earth(us) make a pact with Zan, King of Antar, learn from Antar bout space travel, and other superior technology, and in return, help Zan(Max) regain his throne and save the inhabitants of Antar from Kivar. (FYI, I promise I haven't completely lost it, but I've just been watching too much Roswell this past week) I'm sure the concept of Max coming to the conclusion of 'saving earth without getting involved with the law', that's clearly reflects the biblical concept of JC coming to earth to save the people, but it doesn't apply in the case of Max, 'cos all throughout the show, his planet's the one in need of saving.
Maybe, the show should have another season. With the current ending, here's a thought for season 4. Its now 10 or 15 years after Max 'n Liz got married, Zan(Max's baby that he gave for adoption in order to save him from himself) is not human after all. Zan starts experiencing some super powers and he is in search of his true identity. Since Max, by now, has forgotten all about Antar, the Antar people start reaching out for help through Zan. Well, Zan finds Max... Max learns to embrace his true identity and then after several heartwarming episodes of Zan getting to know Max and his uncle and aunt Michael and Isabel, whom by now are in various parts of the world living normal human lives, Max and Zan approach the gov and tell 'em their planet needs help, and after that the ending like the one i gave above. Liz can go to Antar 'n be accepted as queen, for all I care.
I really love this show, and its a shame it ended so abruptly, leaving so many open ends. The characters I really enjoyed watching were Michael and Maria, especially during season 1, that was real, the Max-Liz thing was too far-fetched and unrealistic to me, the same way I feel about the whole Isabel-Edward stuff in Twilight, I don't know if any normal person can relate to that but I have to say that the romance between Max and Liz is the glue that holds it all together, and I really like Jason Behr and Shiri Appleby's acting. I think Katherine Heigl won over everybody's heart from the beginning to the end. The rest of the cast, those who played the sheriff, Kyle, Tess, Maria's mom, Max 'n Liz's mom and dad, Alex, all of them played their parts to perfection and the cast selection was excellent, its very seldom to like so many members of the cast. I totally enjoyed watching the show. The 'snapple' episode in season 3 is classic, totally loved it.
