Inglourious Basterds (2009)
worst Tarantino - waste of time
Phew just saw the movie and felt it was a true waste of time. Some of the acting was good. Best actors in the movie was Christoph Waltz, whom I was able to enjoy. The story however can be told in two minutes without leaving anything out and every dialog is among the worst I've seen. The constant self-justification was so annoying. Even mediocre movies don't need to go that low. Plus it was plain boring. If I wasn't one of the many Tarantino fans, I'd never have watched till the end. There is just nothing remarkable about this movie. I have no clue how this move made it to #56 or even into the top 250. It's not even the good kind of crap. DON'T WATCH!
Unser täglich Brot (2005)
Plants and animals don't grow and live anymore
This movie didn't show me anything I didn't already know, but it's silence gave me time to think about what is shown. Certainly not a movie for impatient people or after a hard day at work. It left me with a strong feeling: That industrial farming and breeding is just that - industrial. Certainly the slaughterhouse sequences touched me most. Treatment of the animals doesn't appear cruel, but very unnatural. Efficiency and detachment rule. Plants and animals don't grow and live anymore. They are produced and harvested. What's ultimately lost is the variety of life outside the human production-sphere and the human connection to the world.
