Dark Glasses (2022)
2 stars for the gore
2 October 2022
I was really hoping that this would be a step up from his latest "classics" like "Giallo" and "Dracula" LOL :)

But no, the grand old maestro really doesn´t know how to make films any longer. There has been decades since he directed a good movie.

Maybe this should be the end of it, just sad to go out with such a mediocre piece of product.

It´s in every part of the film. Bad editing, bad sound, decent photography though, but not but least, HORRIBLE directing.

Dracula was a fun gem, for the completely wrong reasons, and with Giallo he at least tried. Or for what i know he thinks Dracula was a masterpiece. Has always had great cinematography, but it seems like he´s totally given up. And then i think he should let it go, making movies that is.

Why?
5 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
More or less all of this film is pure fiction.

Slapping a "Ted Bundy" title on a film is easy, but if you have absolutely no intention of telling a story that remotely resembles the actual event, except from that he was a killer, you only do this for your own game.

And what that has actually been told from the truth is so far from what happened. Location-wise, and actions. Why?

There is also NO likeness between the actor and Bundy.

So again, WHY!?

And the female cop has no place in this story. Who is she in real life?

There has been two good Bundy-films the last couple of years. The Joe Berlinger one, and the latest, "No man of god".

This film has absolutely NO connect with Ted Bundy, or his crimes.

The director likes to make films about real crimes, and some are actually decent. THIS is not one of them.

I just don't see ANY reason for making a film about true crime if you don't want to use real facts, or try to make it look like what it was when it happened.

A Dark Foe (2020)
Reviews paid for,,,
16 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really don't like talking bad about people who bust their ass to make movies anymore, but this has to be a mistake with all the good reviews. Either they are bought, or a large delegation of people has come together to support the production.

Maybe it's even a kickstarter-thing where all backers has written positive reviews.

A film really shouldn't get its hype by false advertising, because this is a very mediocre production. The only thing remotely professional here is the camerawork.

The story, actors, effects and more or less everything else is very poorly done...

The story makes no sense, the actors are horrible and I actually thought in the beginning that I was watching the wrong film. The main lead, also the directors father could at best do a decent job in "The room".

Half the time I didn't get anything of the story, and just kept repeting... It's only a bad movie, only a bad movie, only a bad movie...

This film haS NOT aged well...

Was gonna have a good time and put this on.

Had to turn it of.

I see what they where going for, and I also get that some people still find it entertaining. But this is just painful to watch.

Preservation (2014)
Holy sh*t
17 January 2015
Just comparing this to Eden Lake is an insult to yourself. But probably you don't have any knowledge of film so your forgiven for now...

Here we have a director who's seen a couple of films and basically just picked pieces from them.

The storyline is pretty basic, couple of people goes hiking, and end up being hunted for absolutely no reason what so ever. I really like "Surviving the game" with Ice T and Gary Busey because the hunters are real, and i get to know them before the action. Here they're basically just text-messaging, bicycling little punks. Completely nonsense, and there wasn't ONE scene where i actually felt engaged.

Talk about wasting almost two hours when i could have been watching "Destroy all monsters" or something which would have given me MUCH more action and joy...

By the way actors? POOR

From Homeland to garbage...
18 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Beautiful actress Morena Baccarin might have made some weird decisions during her life for all i know, and she couldn't have known what she said yes to when she said yes to do this film. She played the wife of Brody in Homeland, and did a great job. And then the next thing i see her in is THIS!! This awful film where absolutely nothing is funny!!

There aren't just a few things her that makes this completely awful. First of all the storyline is painfully bad. The build-up just breaks down, and there are scenes with characters that we totally don't care about. It's like the director didn't have a long enough script so he throws in a sex-scene that is supposed to be funny, but the hair on the back of my neck stands up, but for all the wrong reasons...

I am a person who have to finish a film, and i've stopped telling people not to see films because their bad. I actually want people to see the bad films, because doing so makes us really appreciate the good ones...

People's comments are obviously written by friends of the director, Michael Rosenbaum. Okay actor from Smallville who suddenly think he's gonna do a Todd Phillips-movie. He couldn't have been more wrong, so do us all a favor, please stop!! Back to people's comments: There is no chance in h**l that people can enjoy this as much as they express in here. So yeah, friends of the director!

But by all means... Knock yourself out - literally :)

Scream 4 (2011)
A sad day for slasher-evolution
21 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A sad day for horror, and i believe this is the death of a franchise. Scream 1 is one of the coolest horror/slashers i have ever seen. It had good scares, good dialogue and not but least great humour.

The second one i loved as well. Still going strong there Craven. The third one kinda dropped a bit, but still the same genre. Great cameos and still the humour there. PG-13 though, but it was okay then. I liked the plot.

For ten years i've been waiting to see the follow up. If Craven still has it. I see it with all the great directors nowadays. They can't compete with the fresh directors of the MTV generation. And it's sad to say that Craven is one of those falling short. I'm still a huge fan, but maybe it's over?

Scream 4 starts of with completely ridiculous dialogue between two uninteresting(hot though) girls discussing the "stab"-movies. And this just doesn't happen once. But twice! They're watching a movie, and the ones that are watching that movie is also watching a movie. Movie within a movie within a movie. Hard to descbribe, but that's basically how it goes. And this would be a cool twist about ten years ago. Now it just feels stupid and outdated. The writer Kevin Williamson has lost what he had as a younger man. And the worst thing is really when middle-aged men is writing dialogue for teenagers. Sometimes it works, but NOT this time. It seems they made this film as poorly as they have because they know people will watch it anyway. The quality don't mean bull-crap. Just make sure to have a kill here and there, and barf up as many horror movie references you can, and you'll get the audience. That's to easy nowadays. And not clever at all.

A few things while i remember them: -The first call between ghostface and Sidney. Ghostface says he has plans for Sidney, and aren't gonna kill her yet. Then two minutes go by and he almost kills her. Duh winning? NOT!

-The kills are shot poorly. What's scary about seeing in regular perspective ghostface sticking a knife in someone and holding it there for way too long? Conclusion is that there wasn't one good kill in the movie.

-People are dying all around, but these teenagers aren't affected by it at all! The thing with the first movies was that we loved the characters. And really didn't want them to die. In this one i can't wait for the whole bunch to just drop dead. They're acting is embarrassing, and the direction the same. Again i have to point out how hard this is for me to write. I'm a big fan and have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. So my reason for writing this is because i feel betrayed by the people i have great respect for.

There are talks about more films in the franchise. Please don't green-light any more scream- movies. I can't take being hurt again by the great people in Hollywood. Because if they make another i'm gonna watch it anyway. And that's the problem with suckers like myself. We will watch the movie anyway. So please stop making them!

I'm really sorry if this upsets, or offends anyone involved in the movie. I just had to get it off my chest. Now i'll probably cry a little, then put on "the strangers" and get over it :)

The best Seagal in years
21 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen all the Seagal movies that has been put out, and for the most part just to get a laugh. The bad dubbing, the none alike stand-in's and so many other things make these films enjoyable. And of course mr. Hard to kill drops his one-liners that cracks me up.

But i just saw this film and felt compelled to write something about it.

Seagal himself is participating more in this then he usually has for the last five or so years. MAybe after working on "machete" made him realize you actually have to work on a movie to get a fair result. Of course there are flaws here. Still bad dubbing from someone everyone can here isn't Seagal.

The thing that amaze me is the technical quality of the film. The actionscenes are actually not that bad. Even good at times. So if this is the start to Seagal's return to decent films, keep it up...

Predators (2010)
disappointed
26 September 2010
I just saw this film after years of waiting. And unfortunately i have to say that it wasn't wurth the wait.

The problem with this film is that they haven't kept the same intens feeling the first one had. They even try to make the first over again with things happened in the first. Stand-off and all that.

The dialogue is crap, and some of the acting is painful. Especially Fishburn. What he's doing in this movie is still a question. His character is just idiotuc. He's also so stereotype it's embarracing to watch.

And also they reveal wau to much off the predators. Suddenly they communicate with Brody. Starts fighting each other??? I

The story is also full of holes i'm afraid.

But by all means go see it!

Halloween II (2009)
Holy s...
10 December 2009
I've been waiting to see this movie for so long and when i finally saw it last night, my heart almost broke. Let me just start off by saying that the violence and actionscenes works well. And that is the only reason i even wanted to give it a 4. Because everything else is garbage. Mr. Zombie doesn't know how to direct actors. Or maybe he just picks the crappy ones that can't act. The girl who plays Laurie, Taylor Compton doesn't do a good job at all. Screaming f-bombs all the time, and not believable at all. Putting his "actress"wife in every film he makes? She can't act! When will he understand this? And Malcolm McDowell? Isn't he suppose to be an actor. Because what i'm seeing here is discrase. he's only considered a good actor because of A clockwork orange.

Brad Dourif and Danielle Harris does fairly okay though.

But generally this is a good combo of both bad directing and acting. I believe Mr. Zombie is a self-thought director. Maybe he should have taken some lessons instead of just throwing references, rock n' roll t-shirts, rock posters and a chunk of violence in there. It doesn't work

And one more thing. Maybe not everyone will notice this but Laurie has a poster of Charles Manson of her wall. Sure a girl who's been stalked and almost killed the same way the Manson family did would have a poster like that. This is totally F****d up and a poor film for the franchise. To bad.

Let me finish off by saying i was angry writing this. Halloween (remake) was okay, and i love the franchise! But if this isn't the end of Zombie's Halloween efforts, i'm out.

He's back
16 February 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Jason is back. Or shows up for the first time? Anyway, the franchise is back. And it's about time if you ask me. It's been five years since the last installment, but i don't even consider that a sequel. Having a director that doesn't have a relationship to Jason direct? Please. Your bound to fail!

When i first heard of this movie it melted my heart. I started my film career because of this series. I saw part four when i was about twelve, and it scared me so bad. But it also made me wanna make films myself. Horror of course. But this series has stayed with me since and i just finished directing my first feature. People, and other filmmakers often look at these films and laugh. This because the films are laughable among the heavy filmmakers. They don't see just how much money these films make. They are the perfect date films. And they proved that this weekend opening at the top of the charts with a gross over 42 millions.

And now to the film. It starts of with a great look back into the past when Pamela Voorhees gets her head chopped off by the last councilor at Crystal Lake June 13, 1980. For those who haven't seen any fridaymovies get information for what happens next. We then jump forward to the present and get introduced to a group of kids looking for weed close to camp Crystal Lake. Of course they picked off one by one by Jason. When their all presumably dead, we get introduced to another group of kids. they are taking a trip to one of themes cabin. We are inn for a typical fridaymovie with a lot of sex and murder. Not to make this to long i'm gonna mention a few things. The positive with this film is that it's a fridayfilm. With all the things these movies possess. Kills, sex, beautiful people, and not but least JASON. And so i have missed him. Here he returns in a new shape as always. But this time he's really back with a vengeance. jeehaaa! Derek Mears does a great Jason, and hopefully he'll be back for the sequel that they are talking about now. Because of the the gross during the opening weekend.

There are something that irritate e a little. But just a little. When i see a fridafilm i approve so much more than any other film. That Jason pop up everywhere i can accept. I just don't see why he hasn't killed the locals at a earlier time? Their always around, but when the campers arrive suddenly everyone in the Crystal Lake area are hunted. There's even an old lady telling the protagonist that "he just wants to be left alone" Like they have some kind of deal with the Mongoloid. Well well. As i said i accept a lot from these films. It's even one of the things that i love about them.

See the film even if your not a fan. It says itself when it is the highest grossing R-rated movie ever in it's opening weekend.

Jason rules...

Saw V (2008)
Boring!
13 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is the least scary and intense of all the films i think. The gore was lacking, and the plot a little to obvious. I'm a big fan of the series and that's the reason i write this review. And the whole thing started with reading a interview with the director(David Hackl) in Fangoria magazine. Here he says that this is the goriest of them all. What's up with that? Haven't he seen the others? It's either that, or he hasn't seen his own film. Very disappointing.

It started great. The first trap was a great way to kick the whole thing off. And then it slows down extremely.

This might the first nail in the coffin for this franchise.

You DON'T want to know more...
18 July 2008
Starship 3 is a movie i've been looking forward to. I love the first one, but hated the second one. Doesn't even count as a real movie i think. And i heard from someone that this was going to be a little back to number 1. So now when i just finished it i can sum it up like this. Fair enough story, terrible CG, bad acting, horrible green screen, some cool visual effects and a little boring. I really don't see the reason for making this film? And i've read an interview of the director who says he's not a director and really doesn't know what he's doing? What tha h***. Then why make the film? There are so many people out there who has a reason for making this kind of movie. And are talented. Why should someone who admits he doesn't know how to direct a film do it??? It pisses me of.

I can't write anymore because i can go on and on about this disappointing title. Sad i think, because this is something that is going to let many people down.

Rogue (2007)
Boring stuff from the splat pack
3 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I can't say much good about this film. The story is mediocre, the effects are dull, the acting pretty weak and the suspense put me to sleep. I'm not kidding! And it'so sad because i've been looking forward to this for about a year now! I really loved the directors first film "wolf creek" and thought this would have the same. I was very very wrong.

Don't bother watching this. It's just not good enough. Go rent "lake placid" instead.

Final words. Greg Mclean has been named as one of the members of the unofficial "the splat pack". This film has got absolutely nothing to do with that.

Day of the Dead (2008 Video)
pathetic
12 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the worst zombie-movies ever made i think. And i've seen many of em. I actually used to respect Steve Miner for his contribution to Lake Placid, Halloween and Friday the 13th 2+3. But this is by fare the most painful thing i've seen from him. Don't't talk bad about Uwe Boll's house of dead if you praise this. It's just as bad. Crappy acting from mediocre actors. And why on earth did Ving Rhames do this film? He's already done a zombie remake. "Dawn of the dead" which is a great film. Zack Snyder the director is of the new age. Miner is outdated in the horror-field. It's the new generation of directors job to make these films now. Look at The hills have eyes. Great film, great director. Look at the sequel. A script from Wes Craven, German director. It stank up the whole industry! It's a shame to say it, but maybe these guys should think about making other stuff? I am a big fan of Craven, but i'm also a big fan of horror. And these old guys aìn't giving it anymore. Day of the dead should have been a first-time director's job. Someone young and hungry for success. Miner is a great TV director. Hss made a lot of good shows. Stick to that.

I can't say how disappointed i was when i saw this. I love the original. Which had great gore. This remake was an embarrassment. cgi gore through the whole thing. If your making a zombie-movie. Make sure you can finance the gore first. That is what those movies are about.

To all. Stay clear of this very low quality film from an outdated director, bad actors and a pathetic production.

Sorry guys...

The O.C. (2003–2007)
What's with Marissa Cooper
20 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not a soap-fan, and have never followed one either. I'm more into series like "dexter, prison break and 24".

One day my cousin came to me and said that i had to watch an episode. I was hung-over and thought okay. I was in the mood for something soft. Amazingly enough i was pleasantly surprised by it. The writing is good and the actors are okay. I'm a big fan of Peter Gallagher so that's a given. The kids are fair enough, but here comes the reason why i'm writing this comment. Marissa Cooper is a character that drives me crazy!!! I have never been so angry of at writers that i am while watching Marissa. Her actions are unforgiving, here personality lacks everything, nobody is like this. Everybody else sees when guys fall in love with her, all except for herself. Come on people! Nobody's that stupid! I refuse to believe this. She is also the easiest girl i have ever seen on television. She basically gets it on with everybody!! Guys, girls. She don't care. She also don't see that she's hurting everyone around her. And they still stick with her. This doesn't happen. I bet the writers might feel like Marissa Cooper. They hope that they can go around and do exactly what they want when they want it. Don't bother about anyone else but them-self. That is what i see when i look at Marissa. A spoiled little brat that don't see that the people around her are trying to help her. When they do anything she takes it completely the wrong way and think they are trying to hurt her. How dumb can a person be!!!?

As i said. I like the show, but Misca Bartons character Marissa Cooper is a huge lack. And this is not directed towards Micha Barton. She is a beautiful pretty good actress that just has been given a horrible character. A real shame!

I am considering not watching forward in the show because of this. It really annoys me!

Saw IV (2007)
Not as pleased as i'd hoped for
5 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The film wasn't what i thought it would be. I think maybe i should see it again. I've been waiting for this for a year now. I think "saw 3" was better. I'm a gorehound so you probably know why. I've heard and read a lot about this film. That it's supposed to be so cruel and bloody. Then they must be talking about the unrated director's cut DVD that i hope someday will be released. Compared to saw 3 this is nothing in comparisan when it comes to gore. ' It was also a little confusing towards the end. Maybe i'm a little slow but wasn't Jigsaw on the table in the beginning? I know that there must be something i'm not seeing, but again. Maybe i should see it once more :)

Actors do what they need to do. Tobin Bell is by far the better actor in these films, and showes here that he's not just a character actor. Transitions are cool. I see a little filmschool in them, but they work out great. Bousman know's what he wants...

I truly hope that five and six will be better. I went in to this expecting more i guess :)

Vacancy (2007)
Good, but not good enough
4 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A very cool concept, but it doesn't quite get there. I think the beginning was a bit to long and it doesn't need it. First i was a bit skeptic to the fact that Luke Wilson was doing a horror-film. That was the first thing that struck me. But frankly he did fair enough. The thing that irritated me was this. Why are the films in the room? In all the films they watch the people get killed in the room. Wilson and Beckingsale leaves the apartment. Wilson almost gets driven over ergo gets killed. The thing leading to my next thing. Why do they make these snuff films? Okay we see them turning some of tapes over to a truck-driver, but we're not sure. Are they doing this for money??? What i am looking for is. If they make a lot of money on this why are they trying to kill Wilson in the phone booth??? Why not just kill them? I see no motivation for any of it. Two guns are on display over the door to the managers office. Wilson mentions that he might wanna take them with him when their gonna check out the room. Old guns at display are NEVER loaded!!! This is the typical horror-film tricks. Everybody thinks their loaded, even the actors until they try to shoot. In this one they actually are. What a let down! And when Wilson gets stabbed i thought it was great. Kill the hero. Unusual for Hollywood, and i liked it. Until the end when he wakes up again WHAT is with that. He's been lying bleeding all night from an knife-cut, and then suddenly he wakes up??? Religious anybody??? I don't buy it.

Maybe it sounds like i hate this film? I don't. I loved the storyline although they didn't use it correctly. It could have been so much more! Why WHY i tell ya!!!

Not what i had hoped
1 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Hostel was a great film. It had a great tone throughout. The actors were semi okay, but the atmosphere it had was the best i have ever seen on celluloid. Along with others like "texas chainsaw, hills have eyes etc." Eli Roth is one of my favorite directors and was really hoping for this film to be awesome. I love "cabin fever" and "hostel", and the fake trailer for "grindhouse" was fantastic. This is a guy who loves horror films and it shows. The biggest reason i feel like this about Roth is that i'm a guy in the same situation. I love horror films, and it's those movies i wanna make. I wanna be the horror-guy :)

Anyway back to the reason i only gave this 5. It's the same as last time. The only thing new is the bidders. The actual killers. Which is cool enough, but i think the gruesome feeling drowns. I don't want to get to know the killers! I wanna fear them. Not laugh at their dialogs or their actions. Like the German in the the first one. Now that's a feared killer. Ruthless and disgusting. Not an all American dude who thinks "their the sane ones". I have had this vision of the film as being extremely gory. You out there who also thinks this, forget it. It's more humorous than creepy. We are sitting there looking at these two killers and listening to one of them say: "You have any idea what your gonna do in there?" Where the other replies: "you don't even wanna know". Then he roles over as soon as his victim get a little cut! He storms out of there and... well you'll see what happens. I felt cheated. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a sadist who likes to seeing people get butchered, but these films bring it out. You sort of wanna see the nasty. Which this film to some degree provide, but doesn't get to the finish-line. In a film like this i wanna "texas chainsaw:the beginning, Saw 3, hills have eyes" gore. It needs it!!! An what about the head of "elite hunting" killing one of the bubble gum members!???? What was the meaning with that? And why did the kids attack Lauren German? There's a lot of things in this film that seams weird but what tha hey.

Okay then...

Cool stuff :) Bringing Ruggero Deodato, director of the infamous "cannibal holocaust" in for a little scene was cool. Like bringing Takashi Miike in for the first one. Here again you see Roth's passion for horror-film. And he knows that only a small part of the world knows who Deodato is. I think it's much for himself. Like a dream come true directing one of the people who got him into horror.

I loved that he brought Hernandez back for the sequel. It needed it. I think the beginning is actually the best part of the film. And also the spa-scene is very good. I liked the camera-work better in the first one. It seemed more experimental in a way. This one was to regular i think. Maybe i need to see it again??? I said that the first part of the film was the better, and so i have to say that the worst part was the ending. That she could by her way out is BS!!! They would have shot both of them before she'd had a chance to give them an offer they couldn't refuse. I personally don't believe it.

I also felt that maybe the script was to short so they dragged every scene a little bit more than they should have.

To sum this up.. It needed more gore, better actors, a more throughout script and more suspense.

Also maybe i had to high hopes. I'm a big horror-fan, and have been looking forward for this one a long time. I love also love sequels :) And this year have been very poor i think. Considering the awful "hills have eyes 2".

I hope you read this comment Eli Roth since i am a huge fan of your work, and hope to see more of it. This comment is not to zest you in any way:) I also love your DVD commentary tracks which i listen to whenever i write on my own scripts. It's cool to hear about the business in another way then the way everybody else talks about it. Fortune and fame all the way. I've learned a lot listening to you talk about getting into the business and what you've been through. We've gone the same paths... Keep 'em coming Roth :)

disappointed!!!
27 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this film which i have been looking forward to for a year. I have no words for how bad you can destroy a film. I knew before i started watching it that the actors would suck, but it's so much more than just that. Fair enough. The story is not the most important thing in a film like this. But then i also have to say. The first one rules! I loved the first one, and that's the only reason i have been dying to see this. I watched the first one with my girlfriend in bed the day after we met, and also watched this one together. She doesn't even like horror movies, but enjoyed the first one to some degree. This one she just shook her head at. And i feel the same way. What are they thinking about!!!? Is it just the money??? This could have been a new franchise, but i think they buried that chance with this one. I was happy when i hear ed Craven himself was writing, but now i'm thinking maybe not. Okay. They wanted it be out the same date as the first film, but then do a better job at it. The "SAW" people are doing the same thing, but those films at least turn out good. If they make a third installment here, i'll probably see it the horror-fan i am, but i wont go around like i've been doing this year. Waiting!

Some people on IMDb wrote that the film reminds them of "ALIENS"??? Why? Because a group of soldiers come to a deserted place to fight against monsters? Are you that simple??? Then half of the films being made should remind you of "ALIENS". You shouldn't speak so bad of "ALIENS" by the way...

I heard that the film would be more gorier than the first. That is so BS!!! It's not half the gory. It has nothing to compare with the first one. I was disappointed about this because again i loved the first one, and wanted this to be just as good. I guess that was silly of me.

Usually films like this look really good. The first one is beautifully shot, and colored. This one tries to do the same, but doesn't get there. Not even half way. Pity. The "actors" spend half the film down in the mines. This means that half the film is so dark you don't see half of what's going on! That's why i love the first one so much. It's daytime when all the good stuff is happening. GREAT!!!!

Please don't make a third movie. If you are have a better script. Not to mention actors, cinematographer, and maybe director.

All of this probably came out pretty harsh. Probably because i've been looking forward to this for way to long. I don't like being disappointed...

In my book your still the king Wes :)

Welcome to Texas!
23 November 2006
I saw this when i was in L.A. screening my own horror short October 2006. It was at the Chinese theater, and i was so delighted that i'm still talking about it. I love the original and the remake, and i feel the same way with this one. It shows how f****d up things can get when you accidentally end up in places you shouldn't be. Ermey is a true horror star, and really shows of here. This is a very gory film, and those of you who can't watch much blood, stay away:) For those of you who can, come on in!!! :) When i watched it i almost felt that it might turn me off of making horror films, but the feeling of course came right back:) Leatherface shows no mercy! Just as us horror freaks like it. The thing that shocked me was that i heard that they cut 17 scenes to get it an R-rating? Then i'm thinking, i can't wait to see what they cut. Hopefully the DVD will show us the goods. This might sound dumb coming from a horror fan of a long time, but i hope they make another one:)

Saw III (2006)
I will SAW to see another one!
23 November 2006
Saw & saw 2 are two good films i think. The first one had a much better story than the second one, but the acting wasn't better in the second one. Cary Elwes doesn't really do it for me as a serious actor. Anyway. When i saw the second one for the first time i was pretty shocked. In a good way though :) So i was really looking forward to seeing this one!!! I went to the movies with my girlfriend the day after i showed her the first ones. She's not a horror-fan at all, but kinda liked them. We SAW the third one and she actually was angry with me after-wards. She didn't think the movie had anything but gruesome and pointless torture scenes. Me on the other hand had a blast. I could agree on that the story was better in the first two, but this did not disappoint at all. Can't wait for the DVD:) Hope they make the fourth even gorier:) HAIL HORROR!!!

2001 Maniacs (2005)
The south will disappear!!!
11 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
That's at least what this movie should have done...

I was looking forward to seeing this movie, and after reading many reviews here on IMDb, i thought that this would be a given hit in my eyes. How wrong i was!!! I think the idea is fair enough. It's actually good. I'm a screenwriter myself and this is a great story to a horror movie. At least if you know how to make a horror movie! And i must say that this isn't much of a movie. The acting and direction blows. It seems like his movie was made just because they wanted to make a movie. Quick and ruthless. Putting Mr. Robert Englund in a movie like this??? Maybe? he doesn't have that many job-offers, but please!! And what about the cameos of Kane Hodder and Eli Roth? Why does Roth play the same character he did in his own movie CABIN FEVER? I understand that this is an internal joke between the two directors, but it fails big time. He doesn't fit in the story at all!!! (by the way i love CABIN FEVER and HOSTEL)

Why does all these kids arrive in the city at the same time? Embarising!!!

Some of the scenes look like the start of a porn-flick. Lesbian blonde's trying to act. Please again!! But they did make me laugh. Because of the lousy acting of course...

Even the gore-scenes were bad! My advice is to stay away! Far far away!!!

The Hills are alive!!!
10 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I would like to start to say that Alexandre Aja is in my mind one of the new promising directors in the horror genre. I saw the movie last night and it was great!! I've read a lot of bad reviews of this film, and i don't understand it. Who are these people writing crap about this movie??? This is a horror movie! Not the bridges of Madison county. If you are negative to remakes or horror in general don't go and see it!!! I think "Haute Tension" was a good contribution to the genre and Mr. Craven made the right choice in picking Alexandre to make the remake of his classic. If your a true horror fan this movie will blow you away, and i think that this is one of the best remakes up till this point. Alongside "Dawn of the dead". When i saw "HOSTEL" i was surprised of the gore. Although it took some time for things to happen. I saw the same in "THE HILLS" And that is the reason i haven't given this movie ten stars. But on the other-hand it has great character buildup. I've read somewhere that some people don't care about the characters in this film and what happens to them. This is because they don't seem too like each other in the film. WHAT IS THIS CRAP!!!? If you don't care about what happens to these people go have a cat-scan. Or commit yourself! These are realistic and believable characters. If you had to drive through the desert in a crowded airstream(RV) you wouldn't be smiling or having fun either.

The movie has great scares and the gore is even better. (Thank you KNB for everything you touch:)

But be warned. This is not for the faint of heart. If you don't like movies that has serious themes which escalates to pure and heavy terror, stay away!!! Far far away!!!

Thank you Alexandre and Wes for making two great movies for us:)
