This movie made me sick!
3 February 2008
The whole stuff with young-successful-partypeople in a 9/11 situation didn't work for me, it was very boring. Although the movie only runs approximately 90 minutes, it still seems to long. It was a classic monster-on-the-loose-movie, but the monster had too little screen time. What made me really angry was the excessive use of hand-held-camera. That wobble-and-joggle-stuff and 'shit-the-camera-fell-down' - yeah, right, modern cameras don't have a stabilizer! Through the second half of the movie I felt like throwing-up every minute because of all that shaking. Apart from that, it's a very conventional and uninspired movie. Not a total waste of money, but close-by.

Expected nothing and got exactly that....

I never liked any of the 'Asterix'-Movies very much, I found them mostly boring. The newest addition to the line is no exception to the rule: a lot of crappy humour and bad timing. One good thing this movie has is the presence of Alain Delon. He was and still is an actor with an unbelievable on-screen-presence and charisma. My impression was, that this dull movie came alive when he had screen time. His role was silly, he wasn't. He brought in nearly fifty years of experience and it worked even in this silly role and silly movie. I was really impressed with his performance and just realized once again, what a fine actor Delon is. It is sad that he retired from acting and that this s***** movie brought him back, but well, that's his decision. If you have a childish sense of humour or small kids, this is your movie for a bad-weather-day. Everyone else: leave it.

Loved it and still do!

I saw the show when I was a teenager and loved it instantly. And I still do, as I observed when I saw it again more than 20 years later. Sure, the environment and the tricks are looking a little cheap today, so what. Every show is aging. There isn't much action as in Star Trek, which at one point only seemed to discover planets with beautiful but strange women. Much of the action is between the characters, how to deal with fear, their situation and the loneliness... Love it or hate it, the show had something special. Till today I saved a huge crush on Martin Landau as an actor, I watch everything, even his weakest movies. And I saved a huge crush on Captain Alan Carter as a character of the show, I'd love to be an Eagle-Pilot! Forget that it's a 70s show and enjoy it.

Waste of time
23 May 2006
It's sad but true, this movie is just a waste of money. Don't get me wrong, I've seen movies which were far more worse. But this flick is just poorly written and badly directed. The action and fight scenes look cheap and most of the acting is poor, due to the actors or the director I can't decide. There are only two reasons to watch this movie - Steve Nicolson and Arnold Vosloo. No outstanding performances, the script is simply to mediocre for that, but both deliver their parts dependably and professional. If you like these two actors and don't expect too much, you'll be entertained anyhow. But make sure, you have enough Chips or Popcorn with you, in case that you get bored.
