Sound of Freedom (2023)
Cinematic achievement uncovering the dark side of its attackers.
Along with friends, I was pleased to be able to view this cinematic marvel well acted by Jim Caviezel and the many others who participated to the realization of this masterpiece relating some events in the Tim Ballard's fight against human trafficking. Tim proves himself, through interviews and podcasts, to be a very dedicated man to a cause that is in dire need to be brought to the attention of the masses.
Jim Caviezel, from the days of Frequency to Person Of Interest and culminating to Mel Gibson's most realistic Passion Of Christ is bringing his very charismatic projection in this recount of saving children from the grips of nefarious characters. That's for the movie.
But beyond it all, it has become a movement that is now unearthing and exposing the many who are showing concern of being exposed for the very crapulous crimes that Sound Of Freedom tackles with. In attacking and trying to discredit the movie, they only reveal what they side for and their imbecilities doesn't compute that people can easily see why they are so vehemently frantic in attacking it in such a vile way. You only attack what you stand against and what those scums are doing is showing us all what they side for and are complicit of the crimes Sound Of Freedom truly expose.
Meteor Garden (2018)
Great actoing start for Dylan Wang but not so for Shen Yue
This would have been a 10 for all other actors participating to this extended venture but the robotic uninteresting acting of Shen Yue made it annoying throughout.
She was devoid of any emotions when it should have shown many engaging moments. Dopey at best.
It made of the whole series a questionable zigzagging relationship between the boys and the not so pleasant girl.
The plot was very interesting and all other characters had it well in their own way. And they were very successful in bringing forth the needed emotions with any presented situation.
The F4 had all their personal moments to deal with and each of them along with their partners expressed them very well.
The conclusion was perplexing as you could not tell if Shancai collapsed for real or all else following was a dream??
Shinira bulriwoon sanai (2010)
Il-Guk Song is really underesdtimated
While some might demand a more rational scenario, this interesting venture presents a combination of fun, seriousness, complicated intertwined situations that makes it full of surprises. Il-Guk Song shines in his very multiplicity of characters, yet remains strong in acting them all up. At 39, he is already a very accomplished actor and it show quite well.
The story is of revenge against those who killed Cho Kang Ta (Il-Guk Song)'s father. And all the antagonists and family offer a variety of situations that are, at times, very comedic, other time cringey serious and that bring the real sister in the picture as all actors deliver perfectly from innocent to nasty to oblivious.
Convoluted for some but, in all, it got me to watch this series more than one and I enjoyed it.
Syurup (2022)
Kim Hye-su absolutely impressive
This series presents a good selection of cast acting individuals and their participation is making of this presentation a very interesting watch. The Queen is most endearingly portrayed by gorgeous Kim Hye-su and she certainly crowns this series as the most interesting character by far. The story lines bring many wonderful statement imbued of wisdom and that is reflected by the new Crown Prince. The dramas that are injected make it even more captivating as to how The Queen prevails beyond it all. Great acting by all.
The antagonists in this series get you to really root for The Queen who certainly remains on top of all situations. That is a compliment for the writers who make sure that you get riveted for what is to happen.
Sex/Life (2021)
Sarah proves herself as quite an honest artist
If you let it all out without the usual idiotic gymnastic seen too often in other productions and movies when it comes to personal and sexual interplay, this presentation doesn't play prude nor contrived to hide what should be considered beautiful people being fully passionate with one another. This series succeeds where too many others fail. Spartacus presented that type of honest undisguised realistic interaction with adults and it was an honest and interesting series as well. That is this series stronger point.
Now the intricacies with the people involved are presenting situations that might be more realistic so that many will not like that such realism be blasted in their face. They will certainly resent this series. But seeing how Sarah succeeds in being motherly and at once an absolute goddess of love is the apex of this series and worth the watching. From Person of Interest to this venture it is quite a revealing acting versatility and solid skills delivered by Sarah. Her supporting cast is also well chosen and deliver supportively well.
A Primeira Tentação de Cristo (2019)
Open-minded has nothing to do with this farce
Trying to view this ridiculously bad acted attempt at making fun of a character that has long reached nobility in the past centuries becomes an exercise in trying to tolerate futility. The acting is juvenile and the premises are attempting to be shocking when in fact it is buffoonery after buffoonery. Platitudes are blurted throughout and not the most entertaining ones. Now, there are those who are elated until you would challenge them to replace Jesus with Mohamed and see the results of such claimed open-mindedness. I don't think it would go very well with certain viewers. But again, for some you can laugh at the Jesus character but not touch Mohamed. Why is that? Is it because Islam makes sure you respect their spiritual figure and create a sense of untouchable while plenty can find it cute to satire about the Jesus character as is the case in this juvenile presentation?
Mignonnes (2020)
More insipid than shocking
I practiced patience in viewing this movie to have ammunition to properly comment because of all the reactions expressed by many. Those reactions are sadly fully justified because whatever claimed intent those who produced this insipidity it is simply a fast track to use young girls to get the attention of a specific selected few. You have a girl (Amy) who is allegedly in a Muslim restrictive environment and suddenly she would be able to just switch to join flaky girls who gyrate, hump, and are simply vulgar without facing the wrath of the Islamic culture. Not in this real world. Won't happen.
And in that insipid scenario you have that Muslim mother who almost threatens to kill the girl and later stands against an older lady who wants to bring sense to that very daughter. These are mere distraction between the incessant suggestive dances of those young nubile girls that are the main topic of this whole charade.
Trying to give credit to this semblance of alleged message to prevent sex-exploitation of children (or young girls in this case) is an hypocritical claim to cover the real destination that movie has taken. Not a good one.
Xin bai niang zi chuan qi (2019)
So good, yet vastly ignored.
The filming is strikingly beautiful and all actors and actresses are so well chosen and act with sincerity. There is plenty of emotions going through the whole venture. A well versed martial monk with 2 ingenuous snakes to contend with looking so beautiful in their women form and the ever pragmatic main subject always calm and plenty of reverence throughout. Spectacular in so many ways and it should be viewed again and again.
Buddha: Rajaon Ka Raja (2013)
The cinematographic environment and acting: Superb.
It has to be good to compel me to view the whole series more than once and this beautiful series succeeds to do it. There is extravaganza throughout the whole series and a grandeur in its presentation. The actors bring an endearment that adds to the desire to continue with the show. The women are gorgeous to such degree that you can't think of many movies that would out class such beauty. The look and the tenure is what make them so strikingly beautiful. Buddha being played by such an endearing individual is testament to the man in charge of this epic production. It surpasses most of anything cinematographic that I have viewed in all those years.
Daredevil (2015)
Characters to make or break a series.
Daredevil has potential but the writers often meander in useless second unnecessary plots and also the choice of actor might compromise the flow of the series. The series started with solid character well personified by most actors and the action quite grabbing. As much as Charlie Cox as daredevil does well in the main character, the annoyance of Olive Oil look alike Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page was an unwelcome prolonged annoyance. So much that by the 3rd season where she's featured too abondantly I find myself fast forwarding to avoid stopping watching the rest that is still quite good. Fisk & Vanessa, Stick, The Punisher, to name a few kept the series very interesting. Even foggy had his good moments with his cutesy lover. The choice of actors and writers are important and if season 3 felt like sliding into theatrics rather than grit, the writers are largely responsible.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
Give Peter Jackson & Friends full credit for those masterpieces.
Peter Jackson rightly sold me the whole Middle Earth. That goes for L.O.T.R. trilogy as much s The Hobbit Trilogy. Brilliantly executed, brilliantly acted and brilliantly presented to an audience that in majority savoured the whole epics. And this latest sequel concludes perfectly so that those of us who don't play offended with Peter's presentation will enjoy hours of re-viewing the whole in the comfort of their home in a not too distant future. Many of the reviewers tend to play experienced critics and their comments feel so unrelated to the actual fantastic presentation of any and all of the movies that I can only think that they can play the mortified to their heart's content but at least they mostly all paid to see this magnificent cinematographic experience and it serves Peter Jackson very well. An invite to anyone who want something fantastic to enjoy to go and see the superlative presentation of this latest sequel that concludes in inviting us to keep up with Middle Earth.
