Hogwarts Legacy (2023)
Incredible
This game is very addicting. I've played each house all the way through. The storyline is solid, could be a tad more to it but it was very good. The gameplay mechanics is one of the things that makes this game so good for me. Combat is INSANELY good and the controls are just way too fun. Love collecting potion ingredients.. I wanted to give this game a 10 so badly because I really do love it so much but I couldn't and here's why-
The open world is amazing and HUGE but it misses the mark. There isn't particularly much to interact with. There's a lot to explore and a lot of items to find which is fun for sure, but it's not like GTA where you can mess with things/people. Sometimes theres little activities and things you should be able to do in open world games but its just not here. Its just endless, aimless wandering around for the most part. Also, I wish that you have to always be sneaky at night. It would be more fun if there were teachers and prefects wandering around the school trying to catch you. You can do whatever you want at any time which I suppose the freedom could add some fun for some people. But I want that challenge.. wish there was more SCHOOL related tasks too.. like interactive potion making more interactive spells etc. Seems like there was a bit of wasted potential with this game but the good story, characters, quests/side quests and exploring make it all worth it. The game really is super fun.. I have other games that I could play but choose to keep going back to this one.
Talk to Me (2022)
How Could You Rate This Badly...
This is easily one of my new favorite horror movies. I've definitely seen more violence in a movie many times before, but some of it is unexpected and shocking. There's some scenes/images that really got under my skin at some points. The main character's choices can be questionable but they made sense to me... lots of people make bad choices when they are grieving. This film is kind of a metaphor for addiction. Also the pacing of this movie was fantastic. Ending was insanely awesome. We've seen some of the same things this horror film has that's been in other movies but it's definitely a film with new ideas and concepts. Definitely going in my dvd collection. 8.5/10 for me.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023)
Slow Pace. Bad Dialogue. Didn't care about characters
This movie genuinely bored me to tears. I love The Hunger Games series so I was pretty excited to see this movie. I was aware that this film was going to be a more dialogue heavy kind of thing but it was just unbearable. The pacing was awful and it just went on for so long. I'm fine with movies on the longer side but not when you're forced to sit there and watch paint dry for 60% of the movie. I also did not care about any of the characters or their well being. I had no reason to feel emotionally attached to any of them. By all means do what you want and check it out but for me it was a huge yawn. I wanted to walk out of the theater but I sat through it all unfortunately.
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
I'm down for slow burn horror.. but really??
Wow this movie had me so incredibly bored. Was over an hour in, still trying to really focus and give it a chance but it was quite difficult. I couldn't wait for this film to end. Felt like such a drag. All the characters are so unlikeabke and i felt no feelings for any of them. Very perplexed about said ratings this film has. When i say nothing happens... i literally mean NOTHING happens. I'm done.
Malignant (2021)
I wanted to like it
The ideas/story is a cool concept, it was just poorly executed. I didn't find myself caring for any of the characters. Dialogue isn't that realistic. Wasn't scary either, just gross. But the gore was fun though, and the last 30 minutes is fun but cheesy. Idk, expected more. Just not for me!
Super 8 (2011)
One Of My Favorites Of All Time
Hear me out. I recognize this isn't the most heart wrenching, dramatic, action packed movie ever. But this movie makes me FEEL something. I remember seeing this movie in theaters when I was 11 and absolutely loving it. 10 years later and this is still one if my favorite movies to date. In my opinion, this movie has the most PERFECT mix of comedy, drama and action. Not to mention how much nostalgia I feel whenever I watch this. I've watched this movie countless times throughout the last 10 years, but finally watched it again tonight after a while of not viewing it. God I forgot how much I love this movie. It just really makes me feel something. You care about the characters and the story gets so intriguing. I think everyone should watch this film. Everything is captured so beautifully. And the dialouge between the close friends seems realistic to me. I loveee Super 8! :D.
Old (2021)
I can enjoy bad movies. But this one was awful.
I'm really not someone to harshly criticize movies. I love MANY movies that I know people collectively aggree are bad. But this was just god awful. I was so bored. Could have been the annoying people in the theater whisper yelling the whole time that ruined it for me though. Regardless of my personal experience, the acting was questionable, and I did not care about any of the characters at any point in the movie whatsoever. I was really just hoping at the end, they would all be deceased and I could call it a day.
Pinocchio (2019)
Never walked out of the theater before, but I did with this one...
Just awful. I got a little more than an hour in and seriously couldn't take it anymore. It's just so painfully slow, and boring. It seemed like transitional scenes were non existent, movie just jumped from random scene to random scene. The only good thing is the cinematography. Everything else? No. Just no.
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
What???
This movie is awful. How can you sit down and watch a movie, where a girl with cancer is so obsessed with an author who wrote a book about what having/dealing with cancer feels like, when he has NEVER HAD CANCER. "It's so amazing, it's like he really knows?" Wow. Idk about you but that sounds disgraceful to people who really have cancer out there. Come on man. I think thats messed up. You will NEVER know what something is like until you experience it.
Celebrity Ghost Stories (2008)
One of my favorite shows!
This show is awesome. Im big into horror and always have been. Theres something about this show that scares me more than a lot of actual horror movies/other shows. The way they make the atmosphere in every story thats told is extremely creepy. It has me looking behind my back at night A LOT. I think about and watch this show often and will always love it.
Hereditary (2018)
Really Not Sure How I Feel..
So I saw this movie a few weeks ago and idk how I feel. It's so disturbing, scary and unsettling yet there are so many parts that tried too hard and I genuinely started laughing at the movie. It has its good scares but the plot? I literally did not understand the plot. No exaggeration- if someone asked me what the movie was about I would not be able to tell them. I didn't understand it until I googled it and I shouldn't have to do that. And it sucks, because minus the fact of how confused I was throughout the movie, the acting was OUTSTANDING. Some of it made me cringe but 90% of it was great. This movie also really really was quite scary. And I'm a huge horror fan and am not unsettled easily and this had me feeling some type of way. Just disappointing because of the all over the place plot it has.

A Quiet Place (2018)
what...?
Really not that good... disappointed and quite confused about the hype. Not even scary at all. Someone please tell me one scene that's supposed to be scary. Kind of stupid tbh. And im someone that can tolerate plot holes/stupid cgi but this one oh hell naw.
