Wild Hogs (2007)
pathetic
If this picture took 39,000,000 it's first weekend, then all I can say is there must have been a whole-hell-of-a-bunch of angry and disappointed movie goers.
In all honesty, the only thing this disaster has in it's favor is some great names, some good looking scenery, and nice bikes.
I really feel sorry for the actors, i.e., I can only hope they are laughing all the way to the bank because not one laugh did it get from me (and I laugh EASY!).
Films like City Slickers never brought hearty laughs, but compared to this mess, the former was the funniest movie EVER.
The only people I can recommend this movie to are HEAVY fans of the stars in it, or to parents that don't want to fall asleep while with their kids in a family flick.
Bottom line: PATHETIC!
UFO's: The Secret Evidence (2005)
Good
When almost all "UFO" documentaries I've seen (and, as a person with a formal science background, I'm a tad less than proud to admit that I've seen'em all) are extremely one-sided --often ridiculously so, this one is about as good as they get at attempting to realistically examine much of this vast phenomenon.
Not only is a great deal of never-before-seen material presented, but this is one of a very few that would be satisfying to both "true believers" and scientific/analytic/skeptic-types alike.
If the subject matter has ever interested you, regardless of your mindset, I highly recommend this documentary, a MUST-view if only for its well balanced approach to a field which has historically shown to be most difficult to empirically and/or unemotionally examine, e.g., the ridiculous --at least from a true science perspective-- yet common (even among some "scientists," e.g., Carl Sagan, et al.??) MIS-belief that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" (i.e., *ALL* "empirical" research requires the *SAME* amount of statistical analysis, evidence, proof, etc...).
My rating: 9 out of 10 (10 out of 10 for serious researchers, both journalistic and academic, as well as, would-be researchers)
Miami Vice (2006)
Good and smart!
*************** Good and smart! ***************
ALMOST on par with "Collateral" and "Heat," i.e., a fast and exciting thrill from beginning to end!
Fine writing, music, cinematography, acting, and direction, i.e. totally engrossing, even at home on DVD...I didn't look at clock or my watch ONCE...and, believe me, that's rare!
The only negative is that there is NO WAY IN HELL that any "government agency" has talent the likes of which was portrayed here. That kind of smarts in real life is virtually ever possible in private sectors.
Did I say GOOD!?!
8/10
The Game (1997)

The commenter who wrote, "A Great Movie, But Wholly Implausible," said it all!
I am a real stickler for realism and plausibility, and even though I clearly recall saying to myself several times while watching it the first time, "this couldn't possibly really happen," for some reason that I STILL fail to articulate, in this movie, IT DIDN'T SEEM TO MATTER!!
And, that includes even the ending, for which, had something this ridiculous happen in any other movie I've ever seen, ...well, it would have delegated any other title in this genre that I've ever seen straight to the trash heap.
In this movie, for some reason, it was OK?!?
No matter how many times I see it (and there are only a dozen or so titles I can even watch more than once), watching this movie is just plain-and-simply a great time, no matter how many times I've seen it.
I give it a *strong* 8/10!
