If you like classy comedy this is not your movie. If you like trash this is great, Have a few drinks and enjoy. Everyone is likable and this is the perfect movie for beers at home trying not to worry about the coronavirus.

Slow burn that turns into crazy. Most likable antagonist in a decade. Killer soundtrack!

why the hate?

Story is generic, people make stupid choices. This is true and I don't disagree. BUT an amazing soundtrack and some of the best photography in a slasher! The kids who are effing annoying at the start becomes a duo you can't help but cheer for. One of the best horror flicks of 2018 no question.

Skinwalkers (2006)
4/10
a long episode of Buffy the Vampire Sayer
28 May 2008
Skinwalkers is the story of a group of werewolves hunting a child who they must kill before he turns 13 because according to legend he will end the werewolf curse if he hits his birthday. Rhona Mitra is his mother, who only learns about this when the werewolves descend on their little town.

There is absolutely nothing original in this story, but both the male and female actors are gorgeous and the fight scenes are good, especially an early gunbattle involving a tough revolver wielding grandmother. The production, however is lacking and looks more like an episode of the week than a big screen flick. The music is even worse.

Even with the tiniest amount of scrutiny, the plot has big holes and at one point you will be yelling at your screen about how a group of people can be so dumb. But in the end its mildly satisfying....and did I mention everyone looks amazing.

Guitarman (1994 TV Movie)
4/10
Not even knowing half the extras in this movie was enough to hold my interest
12 October 2006
This film was made partially in Rouleau, Sask. This little town is now famous for being the setting of "Corner Gas." I, as well as half of my town were cast as extras in this film. I'm on screen (only me) for a few seconds. However, despite it being the acting debut of everyone I grew up with, it still is NOT an accurate representation of prairie life, nor is it unique.

The Saskatchewan film industry has been growing like crazy, and its time they get it right. "Guitarman" is how everyone outside sees prairie folk: dull and lifeless.

The casting is all completely safe, and upon completion of this film (if you aren't sleeping), you will be hard-pressed to remember anything about anyone. The acting is okay, but everyone is exactly who you expect them to be, and sadly casting is not the only area of the film that is without surprise.
