Manor House (2020)

Waste of time
25 February 2020
Well, discussing 3 and a half hour about some elevate filpsophical topics one can do also without going in cinema. Who really interested, can also read some books. But going to cinema somebody expects a particular development, some dynamism to underline or strike through some of the ideas. I won't spoil too much when I am saying- there is nothing here. Not even the tone of the voices being raised, or at least a damn Moskito in the room. Nothing. It is the most horrible 3 and half hours spent in cinema.

Absurdly funny movie about serious matters
25 February 2020
I rarely review movies mainly because of lack of time. But this time I really feel the urge to do it and encourage this french jam, it will definitely be keeping you entartained and go laughter after laughter. Possibly the best comedy I am seeing this year. The topics are indeed very serious - divorce, solitude, the cyberisation of human contacts, and most of all, loss of data privacy. My favorite film at Berlinale.

Do not attend this movie if you're peasant
7 January 2011
I read a lot of action movie fans who tried to level their experience to something they don't understand. This is an artistic movie, no western, no action and no comedy. It's a genuine drama focused on a pure, naive hearted ballet dancer who makes the necessary sacrifice in order to produce the perfect art form: she gives up to her soul. The side effects and the general dark background of this film contrasts very well with the character's naive shaped beliefs, implemented by a too strict and full of regrets mother. I would really like not to see any more un-graceful peasant comments - as it is in movie, ballet is not for everyone.

Extremely Boring
4 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I like romantic movies, like "Holiday" or genre... But in this movie, even though I liked the actors, I liked the landscapes, the rest is lame. Bad story, so boring and so without any freshness, someone could fall asleep. An extremely slow death of the entire space saved only by the last part. The whole problem is that almost half a movie was an unthinkable and unbelievable trick. No one could make love on the funeral of his best friend. And lately, this guy becomes a hero. He gets his best friend's fiancée and throw no tears or anything the whole movie. And us, we should applause for that! Don't bother, try something else!

Good action, good story, bad casting, logical flaws
22 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Unfortunately, the story is logically incomplete. Some of the acting was rather cute, found it captivating, but there are serious issues regarding action flaws.

The most problem when treating a false identity is to cover all the questions may arise after this fake identity is revealed. The main character is phoning daily a so called Lucinda, and talks to the person who pretends to be that person. So, logically it's a hole conspiracy since (we assume) the phone operator delivers the call to the fake person. These are reasonings an onlooker could identify hardly since the fake identity issue is revealed only in the end, but if one is more accurate...

Another problem is represented by bad casting. Aniston has a face of a harmless sensitive victim, not a crook or a "femme fatale"... maybe she would have had greater success as the housewife in this movie.

But since the main character and some of the bad guys are so convincing, and the main idea is pretty captivating, I give it a 7. It could have been one major thriller...
