Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
PLEASE STOP MAKING STAR WARS SEQUELS!
Seeing all the negative reviews, I wasn't going to write one, but I feel so betrayed by these 2 last episodes that I have to SHOUT IT LOUD.
Please don't do no more sequels. You have already done enough to disgrace the original series.
This movie is pathetic, the all plot is pathetic.
PLEASE STOP!
And how about the rating???
Some people say that disney payed imdb.
I'm starting to believe that it is true...
The Death of Stalin (2017)
Is this movie for real?
What did I just watch?
A comedy? Well, it didn't make me laugh. Not a little.
It almost made me cry; for wasting my time in watching it.
Every scene, every character, every dialogue is trying so hard to be funny that it becomes pathetic and dull...
A historical recreation?
I'll let you be the judge of that. For me it is almost an insult to history itself. Wouldn't it be possible to make a comedy and still keep a little historical credibility?
And what about all this swearing??? Is it really necessary? Or does it make it more "funny"? It seamed to me that not a single sentence contained at least a "bad word".
And what about the rating?
7.4 when I wrote these lines!!!
400 Days (2015)
Liked it!
The movie is fantastic, refreshing. The plot is original and the movie well acted. There's lots of suspense and tension. For me, a great plot is when at the end you say "it could truly happen"... And this movie has it! Having said that there are some downsides as well. Those quasi zombie humans that wander around and all of the cannibalism and that sort of things are a little to much, but the overall plot is nice.
Having said that, I can't understand the (very) bad reviews and the 4 stars. Give it a try, it's well worth it!
(Sorry for the next few lines, because now comes the part where I am told that my review is not 10 lines long. But what if what I have to say is not 10 lines long!???? C'mon IMDb!!!! I then have to ad some crap to the review just to fill in the review guidelines. A shame)
Wish I Was Here (2014)
What a brain washing!
Wow... This movie has no plot a all. It's all frame shot ideas and brain washing. From god to death, to religion or education this movie is shooting at you fake behavioral thoughts and ideas all the way!
Be good, work hard, stick to your job, cancer is incurable, be nice to god, homeschooling sucks, artistic jobs aren't real jobs and don't pay enough, death is fun... so many that you probably have to watch the movie to be sure (but don't show it to your children or to highly susceptible people.
This said, acting isn't terrific, but not to bad and the movie is still watchable.
Captain Phillips (2013)
One of the best movies I've ever seen... or maybe not!
I truly don't understand the rating this movie has, nor that someone could have given 10 to it (or even 8, or ... 2!), nor the fantastic reviews I've read about it.
All you get is 2 hours of bad acting, childish dialogs, childish plot (that we have to believe is true...) and a truly annoying shaky camera (nextt time try to hire a cameraman that does not have Parkinson).
It's not even worth to watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. A little nap will do you best;) (And why do I have to write a 10 lines for my review it to be accepted??? What if my opinion about a movie stick in only 2 lines?? Don't you think I should be able to express it anyway? Or do I always have to add some junk (fits whit the movie I just reviewed...LOL) to it?
We Become Silent (2005)
Excellent documentary
Everything that's shown in the documentary is already or is becoming true. Recommended Dietary Allowances are brought down so they become ineffective (what does an RDA of 60 mg Vitamin C is good for?). Linus Pauling (the "father of Vitamin C) once said that RDA's are the lowest limit that will prevent you from getting sick! Don't expect any real effect if following RDAs. But that's part of the money game. If they cannot completely ban natural products, they will make them ineffective and say "you see, we told you that they're not good". In France they banned trace minerals such as silver and gold (and probably more). In Switzerland they banned Propolis... What will they ban next? Watch "we become silent" and pass the word. The more of us are aware (should I say awake?), the less they can deceive us.
Cosmopolis (2012)
Had to see it from myself
I couldn't believe the rating (5,5 at the time), nor the reviews I saw about Cosmopolis, so I had to watch it to be sure...
The conclusion I got to is in reality a question: IS THIS TRULY A CROHNENBERG MOVIE??? 'cause it doesn't seem to be.
The plot could be interesting. We've seen other movies (like phone booth) where all the action is centered in a single actor and a single place, but Cosmopolis lacks emotion. It is a plain movie, with plain acting (I almost said bad...) and plain action (or should I say no action at all).
After all this, what I can't understand are the good reviews the movie got.
Drive (2011)
Did we all watch the same movie???
An 8 rated movie is always one you start watching with big expectation.
And so, there I was, waiting for this little something that turns a movie into an 8 rated masterpiece to happen. And I waited... And then I started reading the reviews (good ones at first) and I waited... Then I read the bad ones... And still, I waited...
NOTHING HAPPENED!
DID WE ALL WATCH THE SAME MOVIE???
Thriller? Action? Suspense? Where did you see any of those in this movie? What I saw was plain boringness, where little happens and annoying acting (un-emotive, plain, BORING)...
Someone compared this with Tarantino or Scorcese!?!... I would rather compare it's slow pace with Iñárritu's 21 grams, but in a (failed) try to be version of... And 21 grams is only rated 7,8! There must be something wrong!
