Miami Vice: The Game (2006 Video Game)
7/10
Ambitious! I just wish it went further with its ideas.
3 March 2024
Miami Vice stands out from other movie tie-in games. As a huge fan of Mann's 2006 digital remake of the tv series, the video game tie-in is a really solid addition to the film's world. It's similarly stylish and its Resident Evil 4 style combat can prove to be fun.

What makes it stick out, however, is the reputation system. Dealing drugs with other dealers and barons, hacking flashrams you find to unlock upgrades, avoiding to use health packs, and even wearing certain outfits and using certain weapons helps raise Sonny and Rico's reputation in the criminal underworld, and thus make more money for upgrades.

Unfortunately, it's really easy to make money in Miami Vice: The Game. Around halfway through the game, I had more than enough money left over. I upgraded both the armor suit and reputation suit to the max, as well as the pistol, shotgun, and assault rifle, and I still had plenty of money and reputation left by the last few levels. It's not a very challenging game, even by the final level on the cargo ship.

After finishing the story, the levels can be replayed, and there's a "cheat suit" that can be unlocked, which makes your weapons and melee move more powerful (I forgot melee was in the game :P ), it makes gun clips infinite, and of course it grants invulnerability. It's a fun little unlockable after beating the game, although it was incredibly easy to get it. I beat the game on normal mode within a few sittings in a day, and it was way too easy. Still, it was a cute little unlockable I guess.

This isn't a game that'll amaze anyone, especially if you have no real appreciation for the film of the same name, but Miami Vice: The Game still has some cool ideas in it and is nevertheless ambitious! I just wish it went further with its ideas. Perhaps if there were a console port that upgraded the sound, visuals, combat, and levels, it could have been fleshed out more. As it stands however, it's a fascinating little game that I enjoyed.

High School DxD (2012–2018)

What did I expect?
2 June 2019
There really isn't much to expect from a show like this. It's got the one thing someone may possibly need. Anime titties. And there's a lot of them. So much, that the show was banned in New Zealand, according to IMDB. It's about this perverted boy who gets killed and is resurrected, but he becomes a demon, I think, and he's part of some gang, and that gang is mostly women, and he sees all of them naked at least once. All the while, they fight people. This show is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's dumb, but it has good moments, aside from the moments that everyone sees this show for, and it has moments so stupid, that it becomes entertaining. Although, the show does have a lot of dutch angles. Some of them are worse than Battlefield Earth, if you can believe that. Also, boobs. What else is there to say. This is probably the worst review I've ever given to anything. But that's what happens when you're reviewing High School DXD.

Yo, HOLD UP!
15 December 2018
Paul Blart the Mall Blart the Go Kart the Mall Cop is the best superhero movie I have ever seen in my life. It is about a man named Paul. Paul is fat (that's meant to be funny) and girls don't like him cause he's fat. He has the chance to talk to girls, but he just can't. Then, on Black Friday, the mall, aka, his home/best friend/safe haven/man cave, is being robbed be criminals. And now, Paul Blart the Mall Blart must save his "friends" from the criminal gang. So this is a rip-off of Die Hard, except rather than a muscular cop who has bad-ass skills and can shoot a gun, we have a fat blart who doesn't know fitness that well that rides a segway. The humor is great. Anytime Paul gets hurt or slides and doesn't slide all the way, that's funny. Come on, laugh already. Wake UP! And there's this whole dumb subplot about the criminals trying to steal something, but the thing is, I don't even remember what they were stealing to begin with. So even if the comedy is terrible, the plot is a ripoff of Die Hard, and the characters are stereotypical and forgettable, I'd still say this movie is good. Oh wait, it's not.

My favorite comedy of all time.
8 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Good comedy is hard to do, because some people think good comedy would be a joke that is built up until it is finally done, while others think good comedy is a loud noise, like a fart or someone screaming random nonsense. It's hard to make comedy that will stay funny, but that's exactly what Shaun of the Dead does. It stays funny after I watch it multiple times. On many viewings, it was funnier than I remember it being from the previous viewing. But it's not just great comedy that holds this movie up as my favorite comedy. The story is about a man named Shaun. He can't keep his life sorted out. He makes promises to his girlfriend, Liz, that he can't keep. All the while, a zombie apocalypse has just broken out, and he and his best friend, Ed, have to survive the apocalypse and save Shaun's mom, Liz, and her friends. I love the story of this movie. Edgar Wright made a movie that is a funny parody of zombie movies, but is also a good romantic comedy/zombie movie alone. All of the characters have amazing chemistry with each other. Shaun and Ed act just like real best friends, mainly because they are best friends in real life. Shaun and Liz do great at acting like a relationship that is falling apart and building back up again near the end. Liz's friends, Dianne and David, are completely opposite characters. Dianne is nice and friendly, as best as she can, to Shaun, while David strongly dislikes to even hating Shaun for his actions and mistakes throughout the movie. Every character here stands out from each other. The movie is also really well made technically. To think that they were able to get so many extras to play as the zombies near the final act is impressive to me and the lighting, camera work, and editing is great. There's very little cgi in the movie, but the cgi in the movie holds up a little. Some of the cgi hasn't aged amazing well, but it didn't bother me that much. This is, as I've already said several times, my favorite comedy of all time, and it remains in my top 5 favorite movies of all time list. It's smart, it's creative, it's fun, it's funny, it is a masterpiece. I will always love this movie.

Man, what a movie!
26 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is without a doubt the best Christmas movie since the hit Chris Columbus movie, the Christmas With the Kranks. The Star Wars Holiday Special has everything I want from a Star Wars Holiday Special, that everything being only one thing, and that one thing being Chewbacca's famiy. Sure, they never mention Chewbacca's family in the movies after this one, but you just have so much fun, that you forget that you're watching the family make grunts and Wookie noises throughout the entire movie and you may get bored as hell, to the point where you will possibly get frustrated. On top of that, they got a scene of the mom watching a cooking show, or the son making a computer from a tutorial video, or what about the part when at the beginning while Han and Chewie are being chased, they show footage directly cut from "A New Hope", that is my favorite part of the movie, aside from the whole movie. A+, 4 Stars, 10/10, Seal of Approval, Happy Face, it's the worst thing to ever exist.

Bad for even Brendan Fraeser's levels.
15 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
In one scene of this movie, a boulder is going to hit Brendan's car while he's in it (which it does) and for no reason what so ever, he yells out, "Miley Cyrus!" which is meant to be the joke.

I've never finished this movie.

Possibly, the worst movie I've ever seen.
19 October 2018
This is it. I've found the worst movie ever made (in my opinion, that is.) There are zero redeeming qualities about this movie. Everything sucks. The humor is about as funny as being diagnosed with cancer, the acting is as great as getting hit in the head with a baseball, the references to all of the movies are pointless and add nothing to the story, the story is non existent, the effects came straight out of a green screen website, and there is a 1% that the people involved in this movie actually tried. If you like this movie, that is perfectly alright. But this movie was a nightmare for me to watch. I'd recommend to avoid it like your ex girlfriend/ex boyfriend.

Zero Day (2002)
7/10
Really overlooked movie that should be viewed.
19 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
"Zero Day" is a very different and unique kind of movie, and that's a good thing. It's a found footage film, like "Blair Witch Project" and "Cloverfield", but rather than telling the story of three teens lost in the woods or a group of friends running through the city while a monster is attacking it, it is about two boys that plan to do a school shooting, very similar to "Elephant" which came out the same year, and I'm assuming "Zero Day" was inspired off of "Elephant", but Zero Day is still fun to watch. You see Andre amd Cal interact with each other, with their family, and with their friends, and they all act so different in each one of those groups. You see Cal talk to his brother while camping with his family, and he seems like a likeable guy, and you want him to live a long and great life, but then you realize he is about to shoot-up his high school with his crazed and anger induced friend. The two kids were bullied and depressed through their lives, and they've had enough. So they plan on shooting their high school, and they record themselves hanging out with each other, showing off their materials, and even explain why they're doing this, and when the shooting begins, it's film through the perspective of the security cameras and the audio is from the cellphone of a dead student. The two have already shot around 12-14 students by the time the police have arrived. The two then decide to kill themselves rather than getting shot by the police. The final scene of the film takes place 9 days after the incident. It's of four other teens who drive to an area which is the burial grounds of all of the people that died at the high school when Andre and Cal attacked it. All of the students have their own crosses in the ground where they lie. Two of these crosses belong to Andre and Cal. Their crosses are covered in hateful and ruthless phrases all over them, as in everyone seems to hate these two for what they've done. The teens then light them on fire, and the final shot of the film is of the two crosses on fire, burning them. When it's all over, you don't know what to feel for these two kids. And that's a good thing in my opinion.

Cloverfield (2008)

The closest we have too an amazing Western interpretation of Godzilla.
14 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I just saw this movie yesterday, and I can already call this one of my favorite movies of all time. The found footage style to the movie feels amazing. It makes you feel as if you were there, which is something most found footage movies don't do. It's also a very intense movie that grabs your interest near the beginning, seeing how the characters act before the Clover attacks New York City. And when the it does attack, it is as exciting and intense as it can be. When you see the Statue of Liberty's head land on the ground all scratched up, you know how powerful this thing is. Top it all off with amazing acting and action, and you have what is, in my opinion, one of the best movies of all time.

A disgrace to the beloved franchise it's based on.
11 October 2018
The first Silent Hill movie, while not a good stand alone flick, is still impressive for a video game movie. It's a visually impressive representation of the series that may make fans of the games enjoy it (maybe). Then I heard about the sequel, Silent Hill Revelation. It was loosely based off of the third game in the series (one of the best Silent Hill games) so you could be excited for it, but then you realize it's directed by Michael J. Basset, it has some of the worst excuses for scares, including a million jump scares, and is a 3D movie. Thankfully, I didnt pay to watch this movie, I found it on YouTube, and I still wanted my money back. Even if you're a fan of Silent Hill, you don't need to watch this movie.

The Room (2003)
2/10
Fantastically Terrible.
11 October 2018
I loved almost every minute of this movie, and that has to do with the fact that it is a horrible movie. It's a special kind of bad. The kind of bad that's entertaining. The kind of bad that makes us want to see bad movies like this. The kind of bad that we love. A movie needs to be entertaining for us to like it. Many movies are more than entertaining. They also have good stories, characters, writing, and (depending on the movie), the action. But all a movie really need to be good is to be entertaining. And I think The Room is more than entertaining. It is a thrill. It is technically a bad movie, but I can't help but love it for the way it is. And do watch The Disaster Artist.

Not as memorably bad as the first one.
11 October 2018
The first Birdemic is one of the funniest so bad it's good movies I've ever seen, because of how it gets everything it does wrong. However, when I heard that there was a sequel, I was excited to see it. But when I saw it, it wasn't as entertaining or memorable as the first one. I guess the one thing it does better is that the cinematography's resolution is much better than in the first one, I guess. Just like the first one, almost everything the movie does is awful, but somehow, it does a lot of it worst than the first one. It's not as hilarious as the first one, but I'd still recommend it, but this one does have a pointless nude scene in it. That's cool, I guess.

A Unique kind of bad.
11 October 2018
This is one of the best worst movies I've ever seen, along side, The Room, Troll 2, Plan 9 From Outer Space, and The Happening. I would almost recommend it just so you can see how hilariously awful it is. The acting, the story, the writing, the special effects, the cinematography, the sound design, in fact, pretty much everything about this movie is wrong, but the one thing it has that makes it better than Suicide Squad (2016) is how entertaining it is. So please, if you get a chance to see it, than see it.

Silent Hill (2006)

Good, for a video game movie.
14 August 2018
We all know that video games movies are most of the time complete garbage. Movies like Alone in the Dark, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, and House of the Dead are universally hated for being terrible adaptations of the games they're based off of. But not this one. This movie is actually pretty good, for a video game movie. It has a decent cast, good special effects, is as accurate to the game as it can be, and is taking one of the best video game series and turning it into a movie. This movie is an amazing video game movie, but is it a amazing movie? Not really.

If we pretend that this movie isn't based off of the series we know and love, it just comes off as a mediocre horror movie you'd find on tv at 2 am. The dialogue sucks, the actors (despite some of them being good actors) really don't do that good, certain elements from the franchise are used incorrectly from their original use, and Sean Bean's character felt like he was just shoved in the movie (which in fact, he was).

While this may be an impressive video game movie, it isn't a very impressive movie. But hey, it is better than the sequel.
