The Witches (2020)
10/10
Thumbs up
10 December 2020
I am the biggest fan of the original film and I have to say I was nervous for going to see this one. This film... it's absolutely amazing. It's the perfect example of a successful remake, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. It would be an understatement to say Anne Hathaway did a stellar job, she absolutely owned the role of The Grand High Witch and took the character to a whole new level. Her performance as The Grand High Witch is the main highlight of the film, although there are many highlights. The cast is brilliant, I was just as impressed with Octavia Spencer and of course Stanley Tucci was great, providing some laughs and reuniting with Anne Hathway. The kids were really good, the cast was really brilliant and I think there's not a single scene in this film which is not magical in some way. Really enjoyed it, I recommend a watch.

Miranda (2009–2015)
10/10
Truly the perfect show
22 October 2020
This show. How can I describe it? It's true perfection. It's like you think it can't get any funnier but it does, it takes funny to the next level and that's the only way to describe it. It's a perfect sitcom made by some of the funniest people who know they are doing an absolutely stellar job at making the audience laugh there absolute heads off. It's such a funny show and perfect for when you need to feel good. The entire cast is hilarious, there is not one actor who is not pee your pants funny in every single scene. Miranda Hart is so unique and such a funny woman, she really shines in this show but so does everyone else. That's what I like about this show, it shines the light on not only the talent of Miranda but on the rest of the cast as well. It's truly the perfect show and I highly recommened it.

Keeping Up Appearances (1990–1995)
10/10
EXCELLENT SHOW
28 August 2020
Keeping Up Apperances is truly one of the best sitcoms to come out of the 20th century, I find it truly hilarious and I think anyone else could as well. Patricia Routledge is a living legend, her portrayal of Hyacinth is something that you will blow you away, and make you pee your pants at the same time, and it's not just her as well, she is backed up by a stellar bunch of comedy actors who are really all fantastic. I have just finished series 1, and I cant wait to start Season 2. Each episode is wonderfully written, and the characters are super hilarious. I certainly recommend a watch.

Fawlty Towers (1975–1979)
10/10
BEST. SITCOM. EVER
12 August 2020
Can I just say, this show has the most amazing actors in comedy I have ever seen. Not only are they constantly on point for every single line said, but they do with such a funny way which is just, just so excellent. Fawlty Towers has to be that show that I will never get tired or sick of, no matter how many times I rewatch or no matter how many times I quote Basil. It is beyond hilarious and no one in any other show no matter how funny will ever come close to comparing themselves with this show. Fawlty Towers is comedy at it's absolute finest, using everyday stuff ups in a hotel and placing it into this show but making it so incredibly funny. John Cleese is, well he's John Cleese, no one can compare to him, he is so spectacular as Basil. Prunella Scales, just wow, one of the finest ladies I have ever seen in comedy and same with Connie Booth, they are both fabulous. But, Andrew Sachs, he is just too funny and magnifcent as Manuel. That guy deserves every Oscar in the world, he has had me in stitches for years and no one will ever be able to fill the shoes he did. This show, is the best show you will ever watch. Trust me. You will die of laughter, and then come back to life to laugh some more. It's that good.

As Time Goes By (1992–2005)
7/10
Sweet, funny little sitcom
12 August 2020
I like this show because it's a sweet little, funny comedy. It's not too much to handle, it's beautiful and sometimes hilarious, it's the perfect show. Later on in the show there are some episodes that tend to drag a bit, or have weak storylines, but they are still very enjoyable. Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer never fail, they are perfect as their characters, and the chemistry they have is sweet and very natural. They are backed up by a stellar supporting cast, not just Judy and Alistair, but the actors who play Rocky and Madge are excellent, as with Sandy and the characters of Penny and Stephen are way too good, and you can't forget Mrs Bale, oh and Lol Ferris. Loads of characters to fall in love with, the storylines are always so beautifully written and so well done. I love this show very much because it's so calm, and such a relaxing show to watch at anytime with anyone. As Time Goes By is an underrated british sitcom, and it's so sweet and funny in it's own way, and it's very unique. Also, who wouldn't want to watch endless hours of Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer desperately trying to fall in love at their age, that sounds like the most wonderful thing.

Peep Show (2003–2015)
9/10
Brilliant, it will live on for a long time
11 August 2020
Peep Show is an amazing comedy series that I have really enjoyed watching over the past couple of weeks. I had heard about it, and watched bits and bobs of episodes when it was on TV, but never sat down and watched a full from start to finish episode. It's a funny show, and somehow I just cannot get enough of it. I'm on Season 5 now and honestly I'm gonna be sad when it's over. Peep Show is a brilliant show probably because it's different to most other shows, it's peculiar and out of ordinary and that's what makes it so damn enjoyable, plus the characters of Mark and Jeremy are amazing. The things that Mark and Jeremy get up to in their sad, depressing but yet hilariously funny lives is just so funny and just when you think they cannot make it any funnier, they do. I love the characters and the storylines in most episodes because, well I can relate to them in a way. This show is up there with Absolutely Fabulous, and Fawlty Towers and other comedy gems. I really, really love this show and I think David Mitchell and Robert Webb are absolute comedy legends. Peep Show will live on for a long while because it is truly funny in every way possible. I love it.

Midsomer Murders: Ghosts of Christmas Past (2004)
Season 7, Episode 7
9/10
Stand out episode
8 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What a spectacular episode, and I really mean it. I had heard it was good, but not this good. It's a fun little episode, most unlike other episodes with a different sort of vibe to it that I really, really love. The storyline in the episode is just really good and well done and I love how they combine it with Joyce and her parents. The ending is brilliant, and I don't mean when they catch the killer but when Tom plays a prank on Joyce's father, which is just hilarious and shows a side of Tom we had never seen before. This episode is definitely a stand out, with not too much twists and turns but enough to keep you fully intrigued. A great way to end season 7 and a classic episode as a whole. I really liked it, I think it's a nice little episode that is different to the other ones.

Midsomer Murders: Market for Murder (2002)
Season 5, Episode 1
7/10
Solid good episode
8 August 2020
What a great episode, I really enjoyed it. Fantastic start to Season 5! When I heard Market for Murder I thought it would be an episode based in a market place or something but I was given something way better than that. I loved the events of the episode, and the ending was unexpected but still very exciting and enjoyable. Great supporting cast, Anton Rodgers is amazing and so is everyone else, the characters are all so different and so they make all unique suspects. I love Troy, and I found in this episode there were a couple of funny moments with him and other characters, that sort of added to the fun ness of the episode. Spectacular episode, I liked it a lot, very creative and very well written. Market for Murder is a solid good episode of Midsomer Murders.

Absolutely Fabulous: Happy New Year (1995)
Season 3, Episode 2

Fantastic show
7 August 2020
I was watching this episode the other night and was reminded of how Fabulous Absolutely Fabulous is, sorry for that. It's really a fantastic show and in my opinion very underrated. In this episode Patsys sister comes round, and Edina sort of gets jealous, and it's the New Year! Not my favourite episode of Ab Fab, but it's super funny as always and I really enjoyed it.

Waiting for God (1990–1994)
10/10
One of the best shows I have ever watched
7 August 2020
I love this show very, very much. I feel like it's really underrated, because it is. Waiting for God is without a doubt one of the best british sitcoms of all time, and I could watch it over and over again. It's brilliant. The actors are beyond amazing, and the episodes are always absolutely hilarious. Stephanie Cole, Graham Crowden, Daniel Hill and Janine Duvitski are some of the best actors in the buisness if you ask me and not one of them have ever had a bad scene in this show, they are giving it everything they've got and it certainly pays off. I would recommend this show to anyone, anyone of any age because there is no way you will not enjoy it. It's a feel good show, it's packed to the brim with actually funny jokes, mostly about old people but it is still funny beyond belief, and it's honestly one of best shows I have ever watched. Stephanie Cole is just the absolute best as Diana, Graham Crowden shines as Tom, and Daniel Hill and Janine Duvitski make the perfect sideline characters as Harvey and Jane. Each episode is always so funny, it's impossible not to have a fit of laughs. I love the earlier seasons the best, but the later ones always amaze me as well. It's hilarious, very funny and real. If you are every having a bad day, this is the show to watch!

Hold the Sunset (2018–2019)
6/10
Like it, but sometimes don't like it
7 August 2020
Well, this show is hard to explain. Very hard to explain. I have only watched series 1, and I have enjoyed it a lot, but it's just so all over the place. The characters keep changing, and some of it is not that funny, plus a couple of people can get really annoying. Hold the Sunset is a fantastic show, it's so brilliant but I feel that they could have done it a bit better, I feel that the storylines in some episodes could be a lot better and sometimes the acting is a bit dry, even with the legend himself John Cleese. I still love it though, I would recommend it to anyone, because although it's a bit jumbled and confusing, it's still a feel good series sort of and it shines the light on the brilliant actors in the show. John Cleese is himself, and I feel that he is a bit unused in the show, but all of the acting most of the time is extremely well done and excellent actors like Jason Watkins and Alison Steadman should be given more recognition for their roles in this show. The supporting cast is excellent, the chemistry between the characters is excellent, and there are some real funny bits. I think that you just need to stick with it, and it kinda gets better. I really love it though, it's a fantastic show that anyone could get a laugh out of. I'll get round to watching series 2 eventually, because I can't give up on this show. It's too great.

Midsomer Murders: Let Us Prey (2014)
Season 16, Episode 2
7/10
Certainly enjoyable
7 August 2020
This episode for me was actually really enjoyable. I liked it, although the ending was confusing and out of nowhere, I enjoyed all the characters and the plot and storyline was well done. I love the later episodes of Midsomer Murders, and I am certainly enjoying Season 16 so far. This episode is quite good and it's not very predictable, the ending was just so random, I think they could have benefited if they had hinted at the ending throughout the episode. Other than that, I loved it and the cast was sensational and it's an alright episode of the show. Rebecca Front is fantastic as the vicar, and combined with everyone else's peformances, it makes for a really enjoyable episode that will have you intrigued, sort of.

Midsomer Murders: The Killings of Copenhagen (2014)
Season 16, Episode 5
8/10
Great finish to a great season!
6 August 2020
I watched this episode a little while ago, and I loved it! It's a great finish to a great season, and it is probably one of the best episodes I have watched of the show. I really enjoyed it and I feel like this is the best episode of Season 16, so far for me as I have only watched two episodes. Great guest stars, as always, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Joanna Scanlon are absolute delights, always fun to watch and they make such excellent additions in this episode. There are rarely any boring bits in the episode, the ending is unexpected which I always like, and Sarah has her baby! I love the idea of Barnaby and Nelson teaming up with some officers from Copenhagen, and although there is a lot to take in and a lot of sorta confusing bits, it's still a very good episode and it for me is defintely up there in the best episodes. I really enjoyed it.

Will & Grace: It's Time (2020)
Season 11, Episode 18
4/10
Sad, but kinda enjoyable
6 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Wow, What. That's all I have to say. what? That was, well that was crap. I love Will and Grace so much, and while this episode was enjoyable in some way, it barely scratched the surface of a perfect ending. How many years of the show and this is how they end it? I expected more, but the ending with Will in the apartment was kinda nice. I guess I don't know the perfect ending, I at least wanted to see Grace give birth, but Will gets with McCoy and Jack does his play?? I guess that's all they could do but I was still heavily, heavily disappointed. I feel like it was extremely rushed, not explaining things much, just squishing in too much things and I feel with another season, they could have made the perfect ending. But, this season I feel dragged on and just recycled old storylines from the original run, hoping no one would notice. I loved most of the revival, I love Will and Grace, but I expected a better ending to such an amazing show

Midsomer Murders: A Worm in the Bud (2002)
Season 5, Episode 2

The ending!! Such a great episode, classic
6 August 2020
I really have high expectations for the early episodes of Midsomer Murders, I always want them to be just excellent and to always have me intrigued and guessing what's going to happen next. I quite enjoyed this episode, it is worth a watch mainly because it's got great characters, and a really good storyline and plot to keep you interested and guessing who the killer is. Without spoilers, it certainly steers you in the wrong direction like most episodes with making you think it's one person, when it's actually another. I have never been so surprised with a twist before in my life, the ending was just incredible!! besides a couple of dull bits, you have to keep watching, and you'll be blown away by the ending, at least I was. A classic episode of Midsomer! Not the best episode I have watched, but I still love it. Wendy Craig in particular is just amazing, she makes for the perfect innocent old lady character, and the rest of the cast is fantastic as well, they always find such good actors. I certainly recommend watching, you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyable
3 August 2020
This episode kinda reminds me of the old Midsomer days, with all the village people and often times someone gets killed because there is bad blood between family, or friends. The Village That Rose from the Dead takes me back and has the same blood as some of the original episodes, which is really nice and makes it quite enjoyable. It's a different sort of episode, quite an action packed one I found, not a moment's rest and not a moment not drama filled. It's not a fantastic episode, but it certainly is interesting in some way and you certainly won't get bored. The episode is defintely confusing at times, but I think as long as you pay attention and take in all the characters, plus you don't forget about any character or what the point of their role is in the story, you should be really intrigued. The storyline is amazing, well scripted, and well acted and played out. It's like they were saving the storyline for the perfect chance, because it's just so Midsomer. The episode is a great episode that reminds me of some of the earlier episodes of Midsomer Murders, and I just love the 40's combined with the modern day vibe the episode gives off. Great cast, who all play extremely sharp and involved characters, and in particular Sally Phillips and Hugh Dennis stand out. Caroline Blakiston is fabulous, and everyone does a really stand out job. I really enjoyed the episode, the characters and the storyline, maybe not the plot as much, but it was still very entertaining and definitely worth a watch.

Death stalks the big top, Pretty good
19 July 2020
I loved these two episodes of the show, particularly because they have just been fun and kinda intriguing. I love the idea of Jessica at a circus, and the storyline and plot has not disappointed. It's been a fantastic two part episode, and there haven't been many boring bits. Not to brag but I predicted who did it, which is rare for me, but that does not mean I didn't enjoy the mystery contained in the two episodes and the intrigue, and the clues that Jessica must pick up, which I always do enjoy. In all these two episodes are pretty good.

Disappointing, but kinda enjoyable
12 July 2020
This film is a spectacular sight, it has a bunch of brilliant actors in it and some funny ideas and it's quite magical, but it does not come even close to living up to the legacy of the first film. It is extremely boring at times, despite the efforts that the movie takes to make sure you are having a magical time and enjoying it, because that is what Mary Poppins is, magical and unforgettable. This film is still certainly enjoyable, there are some scenes that had me smiling mainly because of the star filled cast, and their almost over the top performances for a film that isn't worth going over the top for. I think the film is worth seeing because of all the big celebrities in it, and the ending is kinda alright. The musical scenes, and there are a lot of them, drag on a lot and don't really make a lot of sense, but maybe that's just me because I am not a huge Mary Poppins fan, and you must know a least a little about the first film to understand this one. Mary Poppins Returns is, disappointing, but also quite weird in a good way but it will certainly have you not disappointed that you sat down to watch it. It's an alright film, just not excellent.

Midsomer Murders: Ring Out Your Dead (2002)
Season 5, Episode 3

Loved it! What a fantastic episode!
8 July 2020
Love it! What a fantastic episode. Not the best episode of the show, but certainly an interesting and unique one. You can really tell the actors are giving it their absolute all. Certainly an interesting storyline, not too gruesome and gripping you at some points. I really enjoyed the character of Reggie Barton, played fabulously by the incredible Graham Crowden. Like I said the actors all did a sensational job, and the plot with the bell ringing really is a well thought one, and obviously a well scripted one. In all I enjoyed the episode, not too many faults or boring bits, even if there were any, they'd be well covered up by the good acting. Interesting ending, and all round pretty good episode.
