These guys are so endearing. Leonard is a putz and in a real world would definitely out of Penny's league. We are introduced to Leslie Winkle who is about as harsh as one can be. Leonard feels he needs female companionship but he doesn't need this. When he finally gets Penny to go out with him, she doesn't realize it's a date. Sheldon comes to the rescue--sort of. Leonard's self deprecation is sort of endearing.
