Amusing and funny first movie of the Griswold family finds them a trip throughout the United States . They are of suburban Chicago embarking on a western cross-county vacation via car to the renowned Wally World , they're as follows : father Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) , mother Ellen Griswold (Beverly D'Angelo) , children Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall) , Audrey (Dana Barron) . But the cross-country drive to the Walley World theme park proves to be much more arduous than they ever anticipated .
