Great cast, interesting premise. Plenty of room for Bateman to take this into new levels of prankish "art" ...it's teed up for him to go a little rogue in the second half of the movie, but he doesn't go there. I was a bit disappointed. Instead, we have Kidman in denial, turning paranoid with her (right or wrong) theories of their parent's fate. And we're left to consider three possible outcomes in this quirky look at domestic dysfunction.
By and large this is a decent flick. They've established this odd family's penchant for surprise and misdirection. And the end (no spoilers here) is a valid and acceptable finish. I can't help but wish there'd been more subterfuge and.scheming leading up to the big reveal and the lessons learned. The first half teased more, but it got bogged down a bit after that.
