Yes, the last few seasons of the show weren't what they used to be. The writing went down hill. New and creative ideas became harder and harder to create. But I can forget all that. This show has brought so much happiness to so many people. Absolutely brilliant casting!! The writing, for the majority of the series, was pure genius. And tonight's send off was the perfect way to close out one of the greatest sitcoms In recent years. There will never be another Modern Family.
Thank you so much cast and crew!!! You will all truly be missed.

Beautiful way to end

I won't lie and say that I've loved the last season or two. But I stuck at it and I've still enjoyed watching the family grow with still some amazing laughs. But wow what a simple but beautiful ending. Perfectly encapsulated what the show was all about. FAMILY and the love we have for it. I also think Jays last point was very nice. Not everyone gets to have a family like there's . So thank you Modern Family for bringing us all a family we could love and watch grow.
An amazing end to an amazing show.

Finally watched the Finale and as I feared, I was crying like a baby. Modern Family has been a big part of my life and from comments online, I take it many others too. I think the reason we(those who do) love the show so much is because it is so sincere.
The cast of this show IS a family, even though none of them are related. But the kids grew up on the set, went to set school together, travelled together...Julie went through her divorce, raised her kids...Ty had kids...
In a world where sincerity and kindness seems to be seen as weakness, this show was such a wonderful ray of hope. Not since Moonlighting has a show meant so much to me and I still can't believe it is over. I don't know what I should do without it :(. Of course I will re-watch it, but you can't do that every month and it will probably make me cry every time it ends again.
I don't understand why many dislike the show though. Yes, they might have run out of ideas after 250(!) episodes and earlier seasons were stronger. But which show didn't have that issue? How many recent shows even make 22-24 episodes a season? Most of them are cartoons and writing is often an issue there too. This show may not be for everyone and that is fine. But I believe that none of them had to act in the final scene...the tears were real (you can also see that in the documentary about the show). And knowing that just impresses me more and makes me feel my tears are not wasted or silly, but deserved. I salute the cast, writers and creator and all the people that made this wonderful show happen and sincerely hope I can meet at least one of them one day to thank them in person. This show has meant a lot to a lot of people and the finale didn't disappoint!

That's how you end TV Series. Despite it's gone, legacy will live forever. I feel really sad that it's ended(like most of fans) but I can't even understand how actors feeling. They lived 12 years, shared time, love, life, they've created bond and when it ended it's really cruel for them. It's one of the best TV series and might be the best TV series that has more than 10 seasons. I hope they won't create remakes or start doing one family show because that would be shame. I hope they'll meet up for special show in 5 years and I'm waiting for that. Peace.
I laughed, I cried.

Great way to end a show. Most try to tie things up in a neat little knot, but they just ended a chapter. I literally can see where every member is going in the next stage in their life. I hope they don't try to do any spinoffs cause this is a classic sitcom and they don't need to do anything else!!! Def one of my top five sitcoms to take on a deserted island. I can watch this show over and over! Thanks for the ride, you'll all be missed.
Excellent. I don't care what others say.

Congratulations to all involved in this finale. 'Modern Family' bowed out in style, with an episode that reminded us just why we've loved it all this time.
Every relationship got its moment, the laughs were earned and the sadness was beautifully played.
'Modern Family' deserves to live on now as one of the best comedies ever.

Sad to see that the end has finally come after 11 wonderful comedy seasons

Maybe Mr.s Shullivan and I were expecting more than a lot of impromptu family picture taking, and what seemed like an endless stream of goodbye scenes at their respective front doorways but how does anyone actually say goodbye without flubbing it after eleven (11) wonderful seasons filled with so much genuine laughter and terrific story lines?
Thanks to the whole Modern Family clan, all the supporting cast members, cameo appearances, writers, producers, directors, and back lot workers that made Modern Family a "must see" week in, week out, year in and year out. We loved every minute of it.
Thank you and we love you all!

I loved the show but for whatever reason I stopped watching it a few years ago. Recently, I was looking for something to watch and decided to find out what happened with it. Honestly, yes it feels a bit rushed. Feels like the plots weren't too relevant or deep to fit a SERIES FINALE. I felt sad but it was more due to the fact that one of my favorite shows was coming to an end than the actually story in this episode. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the show and will always hold it close to my heart but I believe it did deserve a better ending.
Missed the 1st go round

And I made a HUGE mistake!! I wish I had watched when it was in TV. But it came back into my life just as I found out one of my daughters was pregnant & the other was moving out. Do not watch season 11 when this happens! LOL Lilly was the best. And little Joe.... loved the sass towards the end!
Loveable but not brilliant

I loved the idea that all the characters started into a new chapter of the life. Furthermore, I had a few good laughs and emotional moments. Especially Jay was great in this episode. His conversation with Phil was genuine and loveable and it was truly heartwarming when he called Cam his son. Even Joe, who is often left in the background, had funny and authentic moments.
However, I feel like their could been more. As if not all of the episodes potential was fulfilled. Phil was not as superb in this epsiode as he used to be in others. In Addition, Gloria's reaction to Gloria's letter felt random and uninspired. Last but not least, it had been great if they would have given the audience a brief insight into the new chapters of the character's life after their grand farewell.
All in all, the show's ending is a good time but it misses to resolute with the brillance shown beforehand.

I don't care how the last season was, they started wrapping it up a few episodes back, and they did it in the best possible way. The show brought a smile to my life when I was having my worst days so I will cherish it forever. I know I'm gonna miss them no matter what people say. Thank you Modern Family.
Cried 😭

A show that understood the ups and downs of family

The past 5 seasons weren't as great as the first couple of seasons, but this season had some gems and I think got more better each episode. Still the finale is alright but been a longtime viewer of this show I'm gonna miss these incredibly funny and eccentric characters.
It was fineeeeeeee

I loved the idea that all of the characters are going into a some kind of change and while it's not the most original finale, it really captures that emotional feeling of things changing and leaving people you love behind. The "leave porch light on" thing was a nice touch too.
Not many shows, especially sitcoms, can last this long and still hold up quite so well as modern family. I'm gonna miss this show. Already waiting for the reunion episode...

Warning: Spoilers
This was a once brilliant show and I had stopped watching it regularly a couple years ago but was curious how it would end. Unfortunately I found it too rushed. Cam and Mitchell decide to move away and two seconds later they are about to board a flight. Everyone just immediately picking up and leaving. I think they could have spaced this out over a few earlier episodes. It was disappointing for this once great show.
Perfect Ending

Perfect ending. No other words other than that. I love this show so much and it has the exact meaning of what it means to be a family. It's such a great show and in my opinion, it never went downhill. The run may have been long but it had a good run and it did so much with its characters. I could have not asked for a better ending because the ending they gave us was perfect and loved the way that it ended. With Mitch and Cam moving to Missouri and Hayley and Dylan ending up in their old apartment and Phil and Claire off on the road and Jay learning Spanish for Gloria. All in all, a perfect finale episode.
I loved the ending; it was so sad.

I started watching the show rather late in its run. But I loved the last few minutes of each episode I used to watch in syndication.
This was such a bittersweet ending; well done and heartwarming. It almost brings a tear to my eyes.
The way the Modern Family parts ways in multiple directions lets you know it really is the end of the series.
The amount of goodbyes before the Tucker-Pritchetts leave is a little too much. As Jay says, who really thought another delay wasn't going to happen.
Jay opens and closes the finale, but he's not quite a major player during the show, more of a side plot.
Much like the pilot, the episode centers around the Dunphy family. While Ed O'Neill was the main star, Ty Burrell was really the main character towards the end.

The last few seasons have been so terrible and the finale was nothing special. I think I laughed twice during the whole thing. I'm glad it's finally over. It used to be such a great show and ended on such a low note. Also, am I the only one out there that thinks that Dylan is the dullest, stupidest character of all time? They could have had Haley end up with anyone, why him?!
