This is the best episode of the show so far.
For once it manages to get the majority of things right. The tone is nice, Patricia Heaton doesn't look like she's straining every sinew to make the material work. There's humour, there's heart - it's not too bad at all.
Even the B plot involving Daniel (by far the best of the other 2D/sitcom standard intern characters) and Jenny isn't too bad either.
If the show could pull together more episodes of quality like this I'd enjoy it more.
