What Is Happening to Dexter?
claudio_carvalho27 July 2014
Dexter searches evidences that might connect Hannah McKay to several crimes, including the death of her husband and her boss, and he changes his report to protect her. When he meets the writer Sal Price, he gets what he is looking for. LaGuerta discusses with Debra about the Bay harbor Butcher and she is convinced that the serial-killer is not dead. Angel is thinking of retiring from the police and buying a restaurant to live happily his life. Quinn is between a rock and a hard place since he was a dirt cop when he worked in the Narcotics Department and George Novikov uses his past and tells that he will send Nadia to a brothel in Dubai. He needs to get rid of the blood evidence to release Issak and save Nadia. Dexter discusses with Debra because of LaGuerta and she dates Sal Price and finds the truth about Hannah. Meanwhile Dexter invites Hannah for a date, to eliminate her. But something happens to him in the end.

In "Do the Wrong Thing", Dexter violates Harry's Code again and has a reckless attitude. Since when Dexter met Trinity's son, Jonah Mitchell, Dexter has reckless attitudes. He disclosed his secret to Mitchell; he told that his motor boat had sank to Jamie but the boat is floating and nobody questioned that; he spared the Doomsday Killer Travis; he killed Viktor in the airport and bought a ticket, but neither his name in the flight nor the cameras in the airport have been used by the mobster. Now he has just spared Hannah and the question is what is happening to Dexter. Quinn is involved to the soul and now he steals the blood evidence and again, why the police department does not have surveillance camera in the evidence room? My vote is eight.

Expectedly Unexpected

This episode has breathed new life into this already awesome season. I'm more then ecstatic that the writers have done away with the awkward feelings Debra thought she had for Dexter and instead brought Hannah into the picture. This episode brings the tension between Dexter and Hannah full-circle.

Filled with the writing style viewers fell in love with in past seasons, this episode is one of my favourites so far. The twist towards the end of the episode is excellent.

I simply cannot wait for next week's episode and the shenanigans it shall surely bring.

Finally. A sex scene.

Warning: Spoilers
Ah, another week has passed by. And still, Dexter is able to surprise us in so many different ways. I am one of those persons who has enjoyed the show throughout. There have been some lows, but definitively Dexter is a solid show.

Now, this episode (as most of them) was exciting - beginning till the end. The suspense was high. This episode had so many character choices that could influence the show's future. This episode shows you the real beauty of this show - the small things. The viewer is so deeply immersed in the story that no one really needs the killing. The killing is playing a secondary role.

The relationship between Hannah and Dex was a foreseen event, but it played out a bit differently as I had imagined. I thought their ''thing'' would be a bit one-sided (Hannah like Dex, Dex wanna kill Hannah). BUT... The show-writers still (after so many years) are able to keep the viewer's interest.

It's sad to say, but there was also a small thing that for me was a bit cheesy - the last scene. The drama could have been avoided by a simple phrase: ''Let us f**k!'' :D

Overall a solid episode.

S7.E6 - Hannah - [8.8/10]
panagiotis199325 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S7. E6) My Reaction / Review for Dexter Season 7 Episode 6 ''Do the Wrong Thing'': Episode 5 was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Is it just me or Hannah could be Dex's girlfriend in the future? Joey shouldn't take money from these criminals. Laguerta wont give up until she proves that the Bay harbor butcher is still alive and killing people. I really don't want Angel to retire, I like the character. So does this mean that Hannah and Dex are now together, I feel weird about it. Dex is going to kill her? That soon? I didn't expect it. Instead of killing her they are having sex? Damn. Overall a good episode, my rating is 8.8/10.

Take you out
dannylee-7808215 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
1. Deb takes interest in Hannah 2. Quinn makes a deal with the mob 3. Dexter screws Hannah

The whole Hannah McKay plot is... bit of a filler in my opinion. We see Dexter end up not killing her but instead having sex with her. Why? Some sort of mutual connection as serial killers? For acceptance because Deb won't give him one? It really is a detour from the main plot and it's not very interesting. Debs gonna close in on her anytime soon so it's probably a plot device to further the conflict. Making a "bridge" episode like this interesting is a very difficult task.

I saw no believable chemistry between Dexter and Hannah. This arc is stringing out too long. This is nothing like Dexter's love for Rita, first, then Lumen. Disappointing.

An Egregious illumination into the flaw that is the Dexter Television Series
namsu227 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
In the first seasons what made Dexter an excellent show to watch was the unconventional show format; In House or CSI its the same episode layout, man finds crime, man gets is stumped, man finds one special clue, man fixes crime. This is or shall I say WAS not the case in Dexter in the first seasons.

Until now....

The reason is because the first seasons were based almost exclusively off a book, and the succeeding seasons written by TV writers for a majority of a TV audience that wants this "dumbed down format". Obvious clues that give way to an obvious plot. The Romantic interlude with Sarah McKay is the second such egregious simpleton display of TV writing. How predictable was it that Dexter was NOT going to kill Sarah McKay, but instead find some sort of soul mate within her? I'll tell you how much, UBER PREDICTABLE. And I can tell you too how her character will play out because the writers have already made it so predictable, Dexter will have some fun, realize he cannot have her, and kill her for Deb.

And thats not DEXTER. This season and the past have been written for simpleton TV audiences, not dexter fans.

There was another instance in the beginning of the episode; the scene where the Kofka boss in jail and the Columbians want to kill him. The entire purpose of the scene from the writers perspective is to instill in the viewers mind how tough the boss is. Again the way in which this is done is completely antithetical to the original Dexter series. Anyone can break someones hand (which made no sense because thugs would not sit and watch that happen). That was the purest of simpleton approaches. What would have really instilled it into someones mind was...a scene where the Kafka boss maintains his strength but gets a little roughed up so in return some something horrendous happens like small body parts of the columbians children are mailed to them. So horrified the columbians become his personal body guards in prison. THATS unique and gives the viewer a sense of aw.

I don't recommend this episode. It is a slap in the face to true dexter fans.
