These 4 minutes are the music video for "California Gurls", a Katy Perry song from six years ago and she gets help here from rapper Snoop Dogg. Perry was one of the biggest stars of the planet at this point already and her streak of no°1 hits is really impressive, no denying. However, I must say as much as I like Katy physically and also like many of her songs, this one here was not a triumph at all. It's all too plastic, too pompous and too artificial for my taste in terms of the video. A prime example of style over substance! The song is slightly better, but also nowhere near her catchiest tunes. You already read from the title I gave this review that I was not a fan here and that's why I give it a thumbs-down. Glad to see Katy stepped things up considerably afterward.

The funniest part of the clip was at the start when the gummy bears waddled to Katy, then the red one gave her the rude finger! My mum said it was really cute, and the outfits that Katy wore during the song stood out on the theme of sweets and summer, including when she is with the other girls in candy-themed bikinis, sparkly shorts, and colorful wigs. The part I found interesting was when Katy was in a sparky red outfit and sprayed fake whipped cream at the gummy bears, with Snoop Dogg then putting his hands up to surrender. The video and the song are both really good, and California Gurls is my overall favorite.
