Minnie Driver claims producers for 1998’s Hard Rain told her she couldn’t wear a wetsuit because “they wanted to see my nipples.”
The Good Will Hunting actress said on Mondays’ episode of the I Weigh With Jameela Jamil podcast that she was made to feel like “an idiot” when she pushed back on a costume decision for the disaster action thriller, despite filming in “20 million gallons of water.”
“It’s set during this massive storm,” she explained. “There were huge rain machines. We shot crazy hours. It was tough…. Everybody else could wear a wetsuit underneath their costume, and I was told by the producers that I couldn’t because they wanted to see my nipples, and that there was no point in having the wet T-shirt if you couldn’t have what was underneath it.”

Actors and actresses often come across projects whose filming ends up making them quite uncomfortable and Minnie Driver is no exception. Back in 1998, the actress starred in Mikael Salomon’s heist action-thriller, Hard Rain. While the film didn’t perform well at the box office, bringing in less than $20 million, this was far from what soured Minnie Driver’s memories of the film.
A still from Hard Rain (1998)
According to Minnie Driver, she was made to go through some serious uncomfortable working situations. Apparently, she was not allowed to wear a wet suit underneath her clothes, unlike other actors, despite the fact that they were filming with rain machines. And when Minnie Driver decided to push back, she felt as if she was being punished for speaking up.

Minnie Driver said during a recent interview on Jameela Jamil’s “I Weigh” podcast that producers on her 1998 disaster movie “Hard Rain” allegedly told her not to wear a wetsuit while filming with rain machines because “they wanted to see my nipples” (via Entertainment Weekly). The film, directed by Mikael Salomon, opened a year after Driver’s breakthrough in “Good Will Hunting,” which earned her an Oscar nomination. Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater headlined “Hard Rain.”
“It’s set during this massive storm, there were huge rain machines. We shot crazy hours. “Maestro” brought together three filmmakers — the sophomore director Bradley Cooper and the screen masters Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese — as producers. “Maestro” chronicles the marriage of famed composer Leonard Bernstein (Cooper) and his muse Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan). You can catch this acclaimed films in cinemas before it starts streaming on Netflix on Dec. 20. Either way, you’re in for a treat.

Michael Bay's "Transformers" sequels were critical punching bags — the only one to get above a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes was the third film, "Dark of the Moon." That can make it hard to remember that the 2007 original actually got some of the better reviews of Bay's career. Critics weren't exactly raving about it, granted, but its middling, just barely failing 57% on Rotten Tomatoes looks like a golden crown compared to the sequels' scores.
Between 2007 to 2009, "Transformers" was largely considered a perfectly harmless blockbuster. It was the second film, the panned "Revenge of the Fallen," that earned the series its bad reputation. I quite like the comparison by interview reviewer SFDebris: "Transformers" is a mindless action movie while "Revenge of the Fallen" is a stupid action movie.
The sequel doubled down on all the worst elements of the original: crass frat-boy humor, indecipherable robot designs, headache-inducing action, and ill-conceived world-building. The...

Filmmaker Michael Bay is facing charges in Italy related to the killing of a pigeon on the 2018 set of the Netflix blockbuster “6 Underground,” TheWrap has exclusively learned.
Bay, who has made several attempts to clear the case with Italian authorities — to no avail — categorically denied the allegations Thursday.

Bateman will produce with Michael Costigan through their Aggregate Films banner, teaming with Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth. Casting is underway but Bateman will not star in it.

Ryan Reynolds posted a behind-the-scenes video of Michael Bay’s upcoming 6 Underground on Twitter. Bay has a track record for wildly explosive action sequences, but for Reynolds, he enjoys shooting with the director for other reasons.
“For me, it’s the stillness…it’s the quiet moments,” says Reynolds about working with the man who brought the frenetic action-packed adaptation of Transformers to the big screen.
As the Deadpool actor enjoys an intimate moment, he is unfazed by a crazy, off-the-rails car crash and explosion behind him. When the dust settles, Reynolds can be heard again talking about feelings and getting “lost in a character’s eyes” while making a Michael Bay film.
The plot details on 6 Underground have been kept under wraps, but what we do know is that Reynolds will reunite with Deadpool executive producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The big-budget movie also stars Mélanie Laurent...

Exclusive: Sony has acquired the Gideon Sterer children’s book The Night Knights, with Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton writing the script. The scribes pitched the project, and Sony won it in a competitive situation. Ian Bryce is producing through his Ian Bryce Productions banner alongside Escape Artists partners Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.
Illustrated by Cory Godbey, The Night Knights was published this week by Abrams Books for Young Readers. The logline: Nighttime can be scary. Every bump, thump or scratch could be a monster lurking under the bed or in a closet. But if that’s the case, then why haven’t we ever seen a monster? You might think that’s because monsters don’t exist. But maybe monsters do exist . . . but so do something else: The Night Knights. And when night falls, they take their place, protecting us all from the terrors lurking in the dark.
