The upcoming TV series "Judge Dredd: Mega-City One" (2019) based on creator John Wagner's comic book law enforcer, will start production in 2019, thanks to a new UK studio facility, built by the "Dredd" team:
"I was told by Pinewood that there isn't any studio space left, and there won't be any space for a few years," said Jason Kingsley, CEO of video game studio Rebellion Developments, who is building a $100 million 215,000 sq ft movie studio facility near Oxford England, with eight sound stages, including one spanning 25,000 sq ft.
Kingsley, whose company Rebellion co-produced the feature "Dredd" (2012), a franchise owned by the group's comic book publishing arm "2000Ad"...
...said the decision was forced after the group was unable to start filming its own "Mega-City One" TV series.

Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper are shooting into action near Oxford, England.
Video-game company Rebellion, which is moving into film and TV, has bought a large former print works that will be converted into studio space for its highly anticipated Judge Dredd TV series, “Judge Dredd: Mega-City One,” and its Rogue Trooper film, directed by Duncan Jones (“Source Code”). Both projects feature characters from the legendary British comic book series “2000 Ad,” which Rebellion bought, appropriately enough, in 2000.
As well as servicing Rebellion’s burgeoning slate of film and TV projects, the studio will also be made available to third parties in a boost for the entertainment industry in Britain, where demand for space is outstripping supply.
The site in Didcot, about 50 miles west of London, was previously a printing press for the Daily Mail newspaper. With large soundproofed spaces already in place, parts of the facility will be ready for use within weeks,...

You didn’t think Mega City One’s judge, jury, and executioner was going to let the Merc With a Mouth have all the fun now, did you?
Nipping at the heels of Fxx and Marvel’s announcement of an adult-oriented Deadpool series, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a live-action Dredd series – aptly titled Judge Dredd: Mega City One – has entered “early development” at Im Global and Rebellion, the games studio that assisted in the development of the Karl Urban-fronted Dredd movie back in 2012. Indeed, Rebellion’s other credits include Battlestar Galactica and Helix, so Mega City One shouldn’t have any problem attracting top-tier talent.
Staying true to John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s source material, Mega City One is set to take place in a futuristic megalopolis riddled with crime and villainy. Dredd is one of the many Judges populating said cityscape, who famously stand as judge,...

Rebellion Developments' 2005 third-person shooter "Sniper Elite" offered a different flavor of World War II shooter. The game emphasized taking a cautious approach to combat situations, employing stealth and the sniper protagonist's natural gifts for marksmanship in bringing the fight to the enemy. This was complicated by the game's use of real bullet physics, forcing players to account for elements like bullet drop and wind speed in lining up the perfect shot. It's no "Call of Duty," but the game was well-received by critics and fans who appreciated a little less guns blazing action in their shooter. Those people should be pleased today then, as Rebellion has announced the coming of a "Sniper Elite" sequel.
