Rooney Mara, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo David Fincher, director of the upcoming The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the Oscar-nominated The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network has — not unexpectedly — sided with Dragon Tattoo producer Scott Rudin in the latest email-exchange leak that has had the Web abuzz, Twitter BFFs turning into Twitter WFFs, and some wondering how much of this fracas is a publicity ploy to enhance visibility for the potential Oscar contender thriller/psychological drama starring Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig. Below is Fincher's take (via the Miami Herald) on the Rudin/David Denby email spat, resulting from Denby's breaking a Girl with the Dragon Tattoo review embargo in The New Yorker. I think Scott’s response was totally correct. It’s a hard thing for people outside our business to understand. It is a bit of a tempest in a teapot.
