Warning: Spoilers
Had this been a Hollywood production he would have found his son alive, carried him down the mountain on his back to be welcomed by massive applause upon the return. Luckily, this is not a Hollywood film. Rather a narrative on, in a specific situation, what power and corruption could look like in non-democratic countries where men in power use state resources and property as if it were their private possessions. But it also poses the question what you yourself would do in the exact same position. If you have the opportunity to use public means to try and save your child, would you not take it?
