In season one, Viscount Bridgerton was less hero than impediment. The eldest Bridgerton son, he assumed responsibility for the matches of his younger siblings Daphne and Colin, and spent the season throwing his weight around – sometimes literally in the case of the punch-up and dual with Daphne’s suitor Simon. Anthony attempted to control everybody else’s marriage responsibilities while refusing to face up to his own. His mistress Siena Rosso eventually made the decision for him, recognising that an opera singer with her past would never be found respectable enough to become a society Viscountess. Siena moved on, and urged Anthony to do the same.
In season two, Anthony’s search for a wife is centre-stage, making actor Jonathan the romantic lead. It’s not the first time the actor has told a love story in his established stage and screen career, which started in his childhood with the Royal Shakespeare Company,...

How did an 80s Van Damme action flick emerge from a failed Spider-Man movie and Masters Of The Universe sequel? Ryan takes a look...
Cannon Films was in deep trouble by 1987. Its boom years, between the late 70s to the mid-80s, were largely thanks to an eclectic and hurriedly-made collection of B-movies: Chuck Norris action pictures, Charles Bronson revenge flicks and lots of things with the word ‘ninja’ in the title.
Thanks to its outsider status and anything-for-a-buck approach to filmmaking, Cannon Films became a major name in Hollywood, the grinning faces of its brusque founders - producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus - frequently appearing in TV news reports and tinseltown trade papers.
But in the mid-80s, Golan and Globus began to change their strategy. While they would still make Death Wish sequels and Chuck Norris pics, they began to dabble in making more expensive films,...

Now that well-intentioned ramble-monster Mariah Carey and professional cotton-candy-cloud of artifice Nicki Minaj have both been released from American Idol’s sequined shackles, it was clearly time to revisit the video for Mimi and Nicki’s classic 2010 collaboration “Up Out My Face.” (you can watch the original below). Only then could we better imagine their reactions to being released from the painful prison of having to sit and look pretty for millions of dollars….
“Ugh. Hello? What. You know we don’t Speak.”
“Hold on, I’ma get up. This shot is Dangerously Close To Featuring The Bad Side Of My Face.

Director Albert Pyun, whose ouvre includes such films as The Sword and the Sorceror, Knights, Arcade, Kickboxer 4 and the forthcoming Tales of an Ancient Empire, is currently in the process of re-editing his smash hit cyberpunk movie Nemesis to create what he is calling his “directors cut”, which will apparently have a new opening – featuring Megan Ward, with whom Pyun worked with on Arcade – and an ending which ties more closely in the sequel which was released some three years later.
Says Pyun on his official Facebook page:
Work has started on re-mastering Nemesis into a version closer to what I had intended. Version 2.0 will be different in many ways including story plot line and the backstory on Alex Rain. It will have an entirely different opening scene and an ending closer to what I had intended. It links more smoothly into Nemesis 2. This will be ready possibly by the end of January for shipping.

hollywoodnews.com: If the 2011 Oscar race needed to be described in one word, I’d choose, “Uncertainty.” Despite strong showings by a handful of films – from “The Help” and “The Artist” to Bennett Miller’s “Moneyball” – no film has grabbed the proverbial brass ring and declared itself a frontrunner.
Last year at this time, Oscar pundits were debating “The King’s Speech” versus “The Social Network” (and both films, by this point of the race, had screened for critics). This year? Some are still holding out for the largely unscreened triumverate of “War Horse,” “”Extremely Loud and Dangerously Close” and David Fincher’s “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”
But George Clooney’s performance in Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants” has stood above the fray from the minute this rewarding drama world premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September.
