Jesse Eisenberg’s latest Sasquatch Sunset audience looked a little different than your typical film screening. The actor-producer took his movie back to the source material this week, showing it to a group of bonobos at Ape Initiative in Des Moines, Iowa.
The film, released at Sundance earlier this year, features Eisenberg and co-star Riley Keough dressed in prosthetic bodysuits to portray a family of sasquatches journeying across North America. The actors attended “ape camp” to learn how to move as their primate characters for the David and Nathan Zellner written-directed film, which hit select theaters on April 12.
In People‘s footage of Eisenberg and the Zellners’ visit, several of the primates watch the film closely. “The bonobos were very curious about Sasquatch Sunset,” Dr. Jared Taglialatela, the director of Ape Initiative, and Dr. Sara Skiba, Ape Initiative’s director of communication, told the outlet. “For many of the bonobos,...

Tom Ripley is one of literature’s great con men, and Andrew Scott is a perfect choice to play him. The Fleabag and Sherlock actor is charming and has a sophisticated air… and yet there’s something a little off about him. (Even when he played a priest in Fleabag, he had a mischievous glint in his eye.) He slips effortlessly into the title role in Netflix’s Ripley — all eight episodes are now streaming; I’ve seen the first four — and the lush black-and-white cinematography is a joy to behold. The series is badly hampered by an overly deliberate pace,...

On Friday morning, March 15, star real estate brokers across the country awoke to the news that the embattled National Association of Realtors (Nar), which represents around 1.5 million agents, had made an industry-altering deal. Not only will Nar settle several lawsuits claiming artificial inflation of commissions to the tune of $418 million, but also it will institute rule changes that may bring soaring real estate prices down while decreasing realtors’ commissions significantly.

The moviemaking business is alive and well, and somehow giving several talents the greenlight in a 24-hour span. Ranked in order of interest, from best to good-enough:
The Hollywood Reporter reports (from Hollywood) that Lily Gladstone and Martin Scorsese will reunite via Charlie Kaufman: the latter has written The Memory Police, an adaptation of Yoko Ogawa’s acclaimed sci-fi novel which the Best Actress nominee will lead and Scorsese is executive-producing. For the very first instance, we can assure you that Selling Sunset Season 8 of this series will pick up from the point where Season 7 left us all, and many of the cast members will not be part of the 8 season that is a kind of bad news for all the fans of this series.
The very first season of this series came up in the year 2019 on the streaming platform Netflix and since then it has been renewed one after the other for successive seasons by this very fact you can have an idea about the popularity of the series.
But in any case you haven’t seen any of the previous seasons of the series then let us tell you about it: It follows the high-end realtors of the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles as they compete to sell some of the city’s most expensive homes. So we...

Loki scored its biggest tune-in of season two for the week of its finale, rising by almost 200 million minutes over the prior week. That’s the good news.
The bad news for the Marvel/Disney+ series is that despite the jump, Loki still finished its second season well behind the first in terms of viewing time, according to Nielsen’s streaming ratings. Kids’ favorite Bluey led the overall rankings for the week of Nov. 6-12, and Friends continued to post higher than usual numbers two weeks after the death of star Matthew Perry.
Loki had 753 million minutes of viewing for the week (its finale debuted Nov. 9), a 34 percent jump from the previous week and its best showing of the season by a wide margin. The previous season two high was 588 million minutes for Oct. 9-15. Over the six weeks of season two, the series racked up about 3.39 billion minutes of...

Bleecker Street has quietly snapped up U.S. rights to Sasquatch Sunset, the newest feature from renowned brother filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner, for release in theaters in 2024.
Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & The Six), Jesse Eisenberg (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Nathan Zellner, and Christophe Zajac-Denek (Twin Peaks: The Return) star in the pic, which shot under the radar in Northern California in 2022. The deal with Bleecker came together just ahead of production.
While Sasquatch Sunset is described as “a year in the life of a singular family,” additional plot details are under wraps. David Zellner scripted the pic, which is currently in post. A Square Peg, Zbi, and The Space Program production, the film is produced by Lars Knudsen, Tyler Campellone, Nathan Zellner, David Zellner, George Rush, Eisenberg, and David Harari. Bre Tiesi’s Initial Splash on Selling Sunset When Bre Tiesi joined the opulent world of Selling Sunset, she was met with a wave of chatter. Fans were curious about her background, her expertise in real estate, and how she would fit into the show’s dynamic. With notable departures from the cast, Bre’s arrival was under the microscope. Some viewers speculated if her fame, as someone ‘no stranger to fame’, was a driving factor for her casting rather than her real estate acumen. Personal Relationships Under the Reality TV Microscope As the show progressed, Bre’s candidness about her personal life stirred...

Bre Tiesi had a dramatic exit during the Selling Sunset Season 7 finale and her future on the Netflix reality series remains in question.
“I sure did walk out. I haven’t decided,” Tiesi told Extra in an interview.
Co-star Emma Hernan was next to Tiesi and weighed in saying there were “a few pros and a few cons,” with the empanada maker calling herself one of the “pros” for Tiesi to remain on the show.
“Here’s one of my pros,” Tiesi said pointing to Hernan. “There’s some things that need to be worked out for me to consider coming back.”
Tiesi joined the cast in Season 6 and quickly found herself in the middle of drama at the Oppenheim Group. Although she was able to turn things around in Season 7, an explosive confrontation with a colleague from her past (Cassandra Dawn), Tiesi was seemingly done with the show.

All The Light We Cannot See notched another week atop Netflix’s English-language TV charts, with viewership for the limited series continuing to climb.
The World War II story based on Anthony Doerr’s novel managed 10.1M views from November 6 to 12, up from the 9.8M it racked up in the week it debuted. This is quite a showing for All The Light, and it’s by far the most viewing for any series this week.
But, as of now it still has a long way to go before it could reach the streamer’s most popular list. Queen Charlotte is currently at No. 10 on that list with just over 80M views in its first 91 days.
Selling Sunset Season 7 soared up the list to second place (from No. 8 last week). The latest installment of the reality series nearly doubled its weekly audience with 4.7M views.

Line Renaud and Dany Boon give low-key, sincere performances as they reunite for an eventful cab ride through Paris
A fourth collaboration between French funnyman Dany Boon and one-time music-hall sensation Line Renaud (who played his mother in 2008 Euro-hit Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’tis), this two-hander has a strong conceit: Madeleine (Renaud) relives her life in the backseat of the cab driving her through Paris to a nursing home, with troubled chauffeur Charles (Boon) as her confessor. The film’s gaze is fixed in the rear-view mirror far more than the Before Sunset-style dalliance it occasionally resembles, but it’s not straightforwardly nostalgic.
Madeleine’s tale starts off rose-tinted: played in flashback by Alice Isaaz, she has a wartime romance with an American soldier, which produces a son. But after her Yank beau heads back over the Atlantic, she takes up with wrong ’un Ray (Jérémie Laheurte), who resents the...

Will There Be Gen V Season 2? Well, in 2023, the teenage superheroes from Godolkin University made their debut on Amazon Prime Video, and people are already wondering what will happen in the second season of Gen V.
This show takes place right after the events of The Boys season 3 and focuses on young super-powered students at the Godolkin University School of Crime Fighting. This school is a bit like a funny version of the X-Men, and it’s also a way for Vought International to recruit new superheroes.
The person who created The Boys, Eric Kripke, is the one behind this show, and it’s meant to expand the world of The Boys while also standing on its own. Amazon knew that Gen V would be really popular even before the first episode came out, and they started working on season 2 in January 2023.

Bre Tiesi's complex relationship with Nick Cannon, the father of her son Legendary, was the center of a lot of drama in "Selling Sunset" season six, which premiered on May 19. The newcomer in Netflix's real-estate reality TV show was first announced as a cast member in August 2022, alongside longtime Oppenheim Group employee Nicole Young. Upon Tiesi's arrival to the Oppenheim Group in season six, her connection to Cannon ruffled a few feathers at the office - namely with costar Chelsea Lazkani. Throughout the season, Tiesi remained fairly open about her situation with Cannon - he's fathered 12 kids total with six women - despite some of her costars being openly against it.
In one season six episode, Young said of Cannon, without Tiesi present, "I don't understand his motivation, you know, if he does love these women, why complicate it? It's already complicated." Meanwhile, Lazkani, at one point, called...

Netflix’s slate for November 2023 has much to offer as the transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving and eventually Christmas begins. Many favorite movies such as Jennifer Garner’s “13 Going on 30” and “The Big Lebowski” arrive Nov. 1, while Garner’s new movie “The Family Switch” rounds out the month when it arrives on the streamer Nov. 30. Other can’t-miss film arrivals on November first include “Whiplash,” “Sixteen Candles,” “The Social Network” and “Pitch Perfect.”
Several new seasons of Netflix shows arrive this month as well, the most highly anticipated of which might be “The Crown” Season 6 Part 1. The first half of the final season of the royal drama series arrives Nov. 16. The limited series adaptation of “All the Light We Cannot See” by Shawn Levy and Steven Knight launches November 2. Levy directed all four episodes of the epic drama series, adapted from the Pulitzer prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr.

November is shaping up to be a solid month of programming over at Netflix as the streamer prepares for the return of old favorites and highly-anticipated fresh titles. Among the lineup is the first part of The Crown‘s final season which will focus on Princess Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki). Also returning for more drama is Part 2 of Virgin River‘s (above) fifth season. Selling Sunset is also back with new episodes for reality fans. And bridging the gap between scripted and reality is the launch of Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge, which puts real-life competitors in the position seen in the hit Korean drama with less fatal consequences. Plus, don’t miss event series like All the Light We Cannot. Check out the anime Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, featuring the voice cast of Edgar Wright‘s 2010 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Today, Andy Shauf presents a music video for “Halloween Store” — one of “the best two songs on [Norm]…grounded by acoustic guitar but [featuring] lush instrumental breaks and repeating hooks” (Variety) – and announces a 2024 solo tour. In an enlightening interview with Stereogum in which he shared the story behind every song on the album, Shauf revealed “Halloween Store” was one of the first written for Norm, mulled over and reworked from when he envisioned it as a disco record. “It’s definitely a Halloween story,” he said, “I was hoping to put it out around Halloween, but I missed deadlines.” Now, with Halloween just around the corner, Shauf shines a flashlight on the much-adored Norm standout and “the album’s peak” (Treble). The hand-drawn “Halloween Store” video is charming and timely, a perfect visual accompaniment for the fast-approaching holiday.

As my friend Bob George used to say, “You’re getting close.” He’d say it about my personal life and he’d say it on set. He always knew what the missing pieces were and wasn’t afraid to tell me.
I met Bob, who died last week at 51 in a tragic bike accident in Silver Lake, through a friend. It was immediately apparent that we were exact opposites. I felt instantly balanced, just being in the room with him. He was an effortless, kind and gentle soul. An affable, hilarious guy who loved to laugh. I called him the very next day to go for drinks, and it was clear to us both that we liked each other to the point that we wanted to keep each other forever.
He was still a production accountant in 2013 when he expressed an interest in producing, and I thought to myself...

John Shiban has been named executive producer and showrunner for “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” NBC announced on Thursday.
The Christopher Meloni-led “Law & Order”spinoff, which has gone through a series of showrunners since its debut in April 2021, is set to air its fourth season midseason.
He replaces Sean Jablonski, who stepped down in March, having been named to the position in Sept. 2022 after Bryan Goluboff’s exit. Previously, Ilene Chaiken served a 14-month stint as executive/producer and showrunner; the show’s co-executive producer Barry O’Brien was promoted to showrunner after her Feb. 2022 exit.
Shiban was an executive producer on the Netflix crime series “Ozark,” which starred Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. He was nominated for both an Emmy and a WGA Award for writing the 2020 episode “Boss Fight.”
Previously, he was under an overall deal at Sony Television while serving as showrunner and executive producer of the Hulu series “Shut Eye.

Caroline Polachek appeared on The Late Show to debut her new single, “Dang.” Dressed as a professor of sorts, Polachek performed the song in front of a lecture screen that switched slides as she sang.
“Dang” follows Polachek’s second solo LP, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You, which she released earlier this year. The song, produced by Polachek and Cecile Believe with additional production by Danny L Harle, is leftover from the album’s recording sessions. Polachek has been teasing the track for the past month, dropping it in DJ sets.
