Universal Pictures has been assembling quite the cast of dino hors d’oeuvres for their latest Jurassic World movie, and THR reports that Rupert Friend (Asteroid City) has signed on.
Rupert Friend will star alongside Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) in the Jurassic World movie, with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer) also set to appear. There have also been rumours that Colman Domingo (Euphoria) and Dev Patel (Monkey Man) are being eyed to appear, but nothing official has been announced. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but you really can’t go wrong with rampaging dinosaurs. Just no locusts this time.

Almost nine years to the day since Mad Max: Fury Road premiered in Cannes, George Miller returns to the Croisette with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. It’s a deafening roar of a film, full of the same improbable vehicles and breathless pursuits through the director’s signature dystopian outback, though now told through a lens that can feel a bit slick at times. It tells the story of how Imperator Furiosa (immortalized by Charlize Theron in 2015 and gamely reinterpreted here by Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor-Joy) came to be, tracking her journey from childhood and the Place of Abundance––an Edenic oasis of renewable energy and worrying red apples––to hardened warrior in the wastelands of Bullet Farm, Gastown, and The Citadel of Immortan Joe. The concerns that met the trailer––suggesting Miller had traded in his predecessor’s practical effects for CGI––are, I’m sorry to say,...

Universal Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming feature film, ‘The Bikeriders.’ The feature was written and directed by Jeff Nichols. We loved the film, and gave it a glowing review.
This gripping drama film tells the story of a fictional 1960s Midwestern motorcycle club and their journey through the eyes of its members.
Drawing inspiration from Danny Lyon’s renowned photography book, ‘The Bikeriders’, the movie immerses you in the gritty, grease-covered world of ’60s motorcycle riders. Kathy, a strong member of the Vandals, is married to the wild and reckless Benny, a fellow bike rider. Over a decade, Kathy recounts the club’s evolution from a local group of outcasts united by their love for bikes and good times, to a more dangerous gang. As tensions rise and the club’s future becomes uncertain, Kathy, Benny, and Johnny (the steady leader of the club) must make...

The Despicable Me movies always do very well at the box office (even if the reviews haven't remained quite as positive), so it came as no surprise that a fourth instalment in Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's animated franchise was on the way, and a new trailer and poster have now been released.
Though Gru will appear, the Minions have really become the main focus of these movies, and there's plenty of fun to be had with the little yellow fellas in this latest teaser, which sees several "volunteers" transformed into super-powered Mega-Minions.
One gains stretchy abilities like Mr. Fantastic, another is a clear not to The Thing, and there's also a Minion with Cyclops-like optic blasts.
Check out the new trailer and poster below, and let us know if you plan on catching this one on the big screen.

The Max series Tokyo Vice enthralled audiences with its deep and intricate exploration into the underbellies of Japan. The series is based on the controversial book of the same name by Jake Adelstein and stars Ansel Elgort playing Adelstein along with popular Japanese actor Ken Watanabe. The first season received great reviews from audiences and critics.
Ansel Elgort as Jake Adelstein in Tokyo Vice
The second season of the show is now streaming on Max. The makers of the show were hell-bent on shooting the series on location in Japan rather than constructing sets and recreating the country in other places. Despite a history of difficulties in having a Hollywood production in Japan, Tokyo Vice makers were successful in taking the necessary steps to secure a location for their shoot.

Max Payne’s remakes may be in development, but who said that doesn’t give other developers to cook up their own bullet time experiences? On that note, there’s a new exciting project in the works that looks like a serious combination of Max Payne, My Friend Pedro, and John Wick making the most of the cinematic gameplay experience you could hope for.
The game is called The Hong Kong Massacre and is being crafted by two individuals, working in a studio called Vreski that is based in Malmö, Sweden. Even though the game’s press kit shows a trailer of a game that looks very different, the narrative seems to have stayed unchanged over the course of its development.
Max Payne’s remakes will take a while, until then, have a taste of The Hong Kong Massacre This one is really looking like a first-person version of Max Payne!

One may resist celebrity culture, but most people have at least a few actors from pop culture history that mean something to them, whether they're from the silver screen or the flickering box.
Actors know how to spark our emotions and suspend our disbelief. They embody our favorite stories and the visions of our favorite filmmakers. The stars of film and television have the privilege of immortalizing themselves in certain times and places. But it is not just themselves that they immortalize. In their best projects, they capture many complexities of emotion and culture that are relevant to millions. Steve McQueen and his Mustang in "Bullet," Warren Beatty and his freewheeling libido in "Shampoo," Anthony Hopkins and his empathetic presidential turn in "Nixon" -- for better or worse, actors color our memories of the past in both trivial and important ways.
It can be wistful, therefore, when an old favorite passes,...

Along with The Mist and Dreamcatcher, Cycle of the Werewolf was one of my first introductions to Stephen King, so the Master of Horror's powerfully poignant prose in that novella—combined with the legendary Bernie Wrightson's amazing illustrations—will forever hold a special place in my horror-loving heart, and so too does its film adaptation: Dan Attias' Silver Bullet (which really captures the blood-soaked slice of small-town life in Tarker's Mills).

Dawson was determined to star in Tarantino’s 2007 Grindhouse feature no matter what. Death Proof saw Kurt Russell playing a serial killer who murdered unsuspecting victims with his car. Sandra Bullock became an Oscar-winner after starring in the critically acclaimed feature The Blind Side. But initially, she didn’t see herself leading what would turn out to be one of her most memorable films.
Sandra Bullock repeatedly turned down ‘The Blind Side’ Sandra Bullock | David Crotty/Patrick McMullan/Getty Images
The Blind Side was Bullock’s 2009 feature film that was based on a true story and the book of the same name. The actor portrayed Leigh Anne Tuoy, who would end up adopting a homeless teenager with her husband. As successful as the film was, Bullock originally shied away from the project multiple times. The pressure of playing Tuoy felt too great for the actor.

In the latest issue of Fangoria Magazine, The Last Voyage of the Demeter director André Øvredal explains that he wanted his version of Dracula to be “the most horrific, frightening depiction of Dracula that has ever been seen on screen.” He continues, “To do that, we needed a performer who could be agile and do these things that are superhuman.”
This desire led to Øvredal casting Javier Botet as Demeter’s Dracula, and the monstrous take on the horror icon is fully revealed in an official image gallery today.

It's been a big year for the "Dead By Daylight" franchise. Not only did they add Nicolas Cage to their ever-expanding Rolodex of in-game survivors, but they also managed to make the jump from pixels to cardboard, completing the Kickstarter for the much-anticipated release of "Dead By Daylight: The Board Game." And with all due respect to "Five Nights at Freddy's," that makes this one of the biggest cross-media titles in horror history.
But while Level 99 Games may have struck gold in the past with "Bullet," the company's previous puzzle-battling game, "Dead By Daylight: The Board Game" offers a more high-stakes excursion into the world of classic (and modern) movie monsters. In this review, we'll discuss why my regular board game group did not like the game — and why that approach only confirmed my desire to keep this one in my collection indefinitely.

Scream VI was named best movie on Sunday night at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which pivoted at the last minute from live to pretaped due to the writers strike,
The film also won best fight for Courteney Cox (as Gale Weathers) and the killer Ghostface, the latter of whom accepted both awards via pretaped video.
Accepting best movie, Ghostface quipped that there is finally an answer to the question, “What is your favorite scary movie?” — a reference to a classic line of dialogue from the franchise.
The Last of Us also was a big winner, taking three awards, including best show. Star Pedro Pascal was named best hero, while he and Bella Ramsey also were named best duo. Stranger Things won two awards.
The show was held amid the ongoing writers strike, which led host Drew Barrymore to drop out in a show of support for the striking scribes.

Dracula is back on the big screen in Universal’s horror-comedy Renfield, and we won’t have to wait long to see Dracula’s next bloody adventure. Universal’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter is bringing Dracula back to theaters yet again on August 11, 2023, and today the film’s official MPA rating has been revealed. Like Renfield, this one is also rated “R”.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter is rated “R” for “bloody violence.”
Based on Bram Stoker’s classic horror novel, the horror movie will tell a unique Dracula story on the high seas, and the trailer (below) gave us our first look at this film’s incarnation of the iconic blood-sucker. Unlike many adaptations that depict Dracula as a human being, it seems The Last Voyage of the Demeter is leaning into Dracula being a full-on bat monster.

Fox's Fantasy Island is a magical, idyllic tropical paradise where guests are welcomed to their holiday adventure by their elegant hostesses and the dashingly charming head of transportation, Javier.
As Javier, John Gabriel Rodriquez's brilliant smile and confident approach to piloting, whether by sea or air, is a warm and comforting entry point to what invariably proves to be a life-changing experience.
Speaking with TV Fanatic via Zoom from his home in Los Angeles, Rodriquez is just as affable and eloquently thoughtful as his on-screen character.
The current series is a revival of the original Ricardo Montalbán-anchored series that premiered in 1978 and went on to seven seasons of guest star-studded, fantastical must-see TV.
Before booking the role of Javier, Rodriquez understood the cultural phenomenon his series was built on.

Eight years after the project was first announced, writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) is finally in production, with filming taking place in Prague. With the start of production comes the launching of a website, which you can check out at This Link – and which is currently quite low on content. But the website does include some information we haven’t covered here before: Eggers’ The Witch star Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney are both in the cast!
McBurney has over 60 screen acting credits to his name, stretching back to the 1980s. In recent years he had roles in Carnival Row, The Pale Blue Eye, The Conjuring 2, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (pictured below).

Tupac Shakur's socially conscious poetry and fiery, political lyrics are forever cemented in music history, but the legendary rapper also had a burgeoning career in acting. Upon the time of his tragic murder in September 1996, Tupac was becoming all the more prolific as a performer, his filmography growing even after his death. What's more, there was a chance that, eventually, audiences would have seen the rapper/actor pop up in big-budget movies like the "Star Wars" prequels, in which George Lucas may have cast him as Mace Windu.
Tupac was always involved in the world of the stage ever since his childhood days at the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he acted in Shakespeare productions that would influence his depictions of gang conflicts. The artist's breakout lead role was in the 1992 crime drama "Juice," in which future Mace Windu actor Samuel L. Jackson also appeared in. Besides this,...

Cocaine Bear (read our review Here) screenwriter Jimmy Warden has said that he has ideas for multiple sequels to the film, and some movie-goers have already let it be known that they’re hoping and waiting for a movie that would be called Cocaine Shark. But while we wait to see if Cocaine Bear is going to spawn a franchise, the mockbuster masters at The Asylum have unveiled a poster of the mockbuster they have made to cash in on the Cocaine Bear hype: a movie called Attack of the Meth Gator! An exact release date hasn’t been announced, but we can expect to see Attack of the Meth Gator sometime this summer.
We can only assume that Attack of the Meth Gator is going to be about an alligator going on a killing spree after consuming meth, much like Cocaine Bear is about a bear going on a killing spree after consuming cocaine.

Just a quick update for you on this Holiday Saturday: Estimates this weekend are all over the place as some are reporting Disney’s Spider-Man: No Way Home- The More Fun Version will claim first place with around 7 Million over the 4 day holiday weekend while others seem to think Brad Pitt’s Bullet Train can reclaim the crown in its 5th weekend of release.
The big wrench is whether the first ever National Cinema Day with its 3 tickets will drive business to theaters, but even if it does, those 3 tickets probably won’t amount to much in terms of dollars and cents.
Top Gun: Maverick is still flying high and could surpass the 700 Million domestic mark this weekend, however with the film becoming the best selling week one digital release of all time, perhaps people are deciding to stay home this weekend to enjoy Tom Cruise’s highest grossing film ever.

Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is returning to the helm for a sequel that has been shrouded in secrecy for months – all we’ve heard up to this point was that Wingard’s The Guest star Dan Steven had joined the cast, and that was way back in May. But now Warner Bros. and Legendary have sent out a press release to give us more information on this currently untitled addition to the Monsterverse, which is scheduled to reach theatres on March 15, 2024.

New details surrounding Brad Pitt’s alleged in-flight meltdown in September 2016 that led to his and Angelina Jolie’s divorce have been revealed.
Sources close to Pitt were said to have told Page Six that Jolie is “desperately trying to find something new” amid her and her ex-husband’s legal battle.
She allegedly sued the FBI for records she already had, anonymously filing a lawsuit in April using the name Jane Doe, requesting documents in a bid to figure out why no criminal charges were brought against Pitt at the time.
Docs seen by the publication show that the assistant United States attorney and the assistant United States chief of the Criminal Division discussed the case in November 2017.
A decision was eventually reached not to charge the actor.

The David Leitch film sees Pitt’s character, a bumbling assassin called Ladybug, caught up in a web of underworld mayhem on a Japanese bullet train — all of which revolves around “The Case That Everyone is After.” The case, which is actually Tumi’s 19 Degree Aluminum Briefcase, was offered as a limited-edition release when the film premiered.

"Bullet Train" is packed with so much fast-paced chaos, you might have missed the sneaky Percy Jackson Easter egg hidden in its script. The action movie features a slew of codenamed assassins, including Ladybug (Brad Pitt), Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry), Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), The Prince (Joey King), The Wolf (Bad Bunny), and The Hornet (Zazie Beetz). One of the few non-murderous characters aboard the high-speed train across Japan is The Son, portrayed by a long-haired, tattoo-covered Logan Lerman. Yep, this is where the Percy Jackson reference comes into play.
The son of Russian crime lord White Death, Lerman's character is being escorted to Kyoto by dynamic duo Lemon and Tangerine. The former has a love for the animated series "Thomas & Friends," often comparing its humanoid trains to the personality traits of those he crosses paths with. Upon meeting The Son, Lemon quips that he's similar to Percy,...

August is the month when schools reopen and the doldrums of September loom; the further we go into the August, the smaller the box office becomes. Even so, it usually brings in about two-thirds of July, which is often the biggest month of the year. So when “Bullet Train” (Sony) opens to 30 million domestic, it’s cause for concern — especially since the next film with similar potential is likely Warner Bros. Discovery’s “Black Adam,” which opens October 21.
“Bullet Train,” budgeted at 90 million pre-marketing, will need a strong multiple to support profitability as well as exhibitors’ hopes; otherwise, this month will likely be the lowest grosser since March. After that bottoming out we’ve seen grosses increase to the point that July achieved 90 percent of the 2019 take. The hope is August openings show signs of lingering momentum.
Next weekend, we’ll know if that’s the case for “Bullet Train.

It's safe to say that the summer movie season of 2022 has been a bit of a disappointment for action fans. While action buffs got a taste of great filmmaking earlier this year with "Everything Everywhere All at Once," the slate of films released since has been somewhat underwhelming. Outside of "Top Gun: Maverick," films like "The Gray Man," "Thor: Love and Thunder," "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," and "Jurassic World Dominion" all felt like major disappointments.
That being said, there's a movie coming to save the summer, and that's David Leitch's new action thriller "Bullet...

The 2022 Golden Trailer Awards are led by Coda with 14 nominations — the most of any film — followed by The Matrix Resurrections, which starred Keanu Reeves, with 10.
Coda and Apple TV+ made history when the film captured best picture at the Academy Awards, a first for a streaming service after years of Netflix and other competitors long campaigned for such an honor.
Other multiple nominees include Top Gun: Maverick with five nominations; Dune with four; and Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and The Batman among the movies with three mentions.
The Golden Trailer Awards, which honor creatives who produce trailers and marketing content for new movies, TV and streaming series, will be held live in Los Angeles on Oct. 6 and will be hosted by comedian Henry Cho.

Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse were among the many couples at the "Bullet Train" premiere in Los Angeles on Aug. 1. The couple looked supremely sweet as they posed like it was prom and gazed into each other's eyes on the red carpet. They also subtly matched: Palvin wore black lace separates with white knee-high boots, while Sprouse wore a classic black suit and a white shirt.
Palvin and Sprouse have been together for four years. After meeting at a party and promptly following each other on Instagram, Sprouse sent Palvin a message which went unanswered for six months until she finally decided to reach out. "I took my time," Palvin told W. "I knew I wasn't in a good mind-set at the time, and maybe deep inside I knew that it could be something more." They officially began dating in June 2018 and moved in together not long after, in January...
