Just gets better
joshculusbruh14 January 2022
This one is even funnier and there's a lot more action in this one and it's surprising very good and fun. Every character just keeps getting better and none of them are dull.

The co-cast of TSS are holding up well front and center
michiganave_p15 January 2022
I'm intrigued by this series so far, and the 3-episode slow drip might be a good strategy that Gunn is trying out.

I didn't know how much this "chunk" release would work out, but it appears it is intentional for storylines, which makes sense.

Cena as a solo hero is working out good, not great yet I feel personally, but Jennifer Holland and Steve Agee are definitely punching above their weight so far in both the comedy and storyline aspects.

I'll be watching the next block of episodes coming out; it's probably the best series on Max Originals/Warner to date.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally some action! This was the best episode out of the first three. DCEU definitely should keep pushing for this concept. Every character in the show is so screwed up that it's hilarious. The absurd violence is just hilarious to watch. It's so absurd that it's fresh. Im glad they decided to make this show. Can't wait for more episodes!

Project Butterfly
tristan_1914 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Project Butterfly appears to be way more global than we thought... Holy Hell.

This episode is the best so far. It's dynamic from start to finish. Peacemaker and co go on their first big mission. Once again, we see the struggles of certain characters. Killing isn't always black or white. The pace is absolutely relentless, and always supported by mood, music, cinematography.

Can't wait for the next episode !

Best of Three
bbevis-4795416 January 2022
I laughed the most during Better Goff Dead. Peacemaker was entertaining the first two episodes but episode two dragged a little. Episode three starts things off right out the gate with the mission to take out the senator. The the jokes are consistent throughout the episode. Dialogue is sharp and Peacemakers naivete makes the proceeding all the more hilarious. Loved the weird sci-fi vibes watching the butterflies during the steakout. Judomaster and Peacemaker talking trash to each other was the highlight for me. Nearly pissed myself. In my opinion Better Goff Dead is the best episode of the three initially released.

James Gunn is at it again!
wetmars14 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The intro is perfect, and one of the best titles sequences out there to ever exist, plus it's unskippable! (( Unless you have horrible taste. )) Peacemaker is given a lot more character rather than being largely comedic the last time we saw him in The Suicide Squad. Vigilante is such a fun character to fall in love with, his chemistry with Peacemaker stands deeply attached that executes very well, funny, has a very likable personality, and his costume is dope. I don't have much to say about Clemson as he is quite the non-conversationalist one, but still cool and makes the interaction of the gang more fun. Leota is enjoyable and entertaining. Harcourt is quite the badass one. You can say that she's like Black Widow, but with an actual personality, cleverly written, and thank god that she isn't sexualized. Economos is also a great character, and Eagly is the best boy. To sum it all up. All of the characters are immediately likable.

The plot has a neat structure going, better usage of humor than Marvel (( The humor seriously works like: "He bangs chicks? Good for him. He fricks dudes? Got no problem with that. He starts frickin' fish? That's taking it a step too far." )), a lot of great performances, action-packed (( I love how the music plays perfectly well during that scene where Chris fights off with a female butterfly. That was a hell of a scene! Chris took many stabbing, slashes, and thrown fricking everywhere. The disturbing nature of the butterflies is very interesting. A parasitic butterfly as the host? Jesus Christ, we're gonna see more nightmare fuel material after Starro. )), the gore is truly remarkable (( that moment when Chris activated Sonic Boom, that was SICK )), a bunch of WTF moments like BAT-MITE IS FRICKING CANON, amazing soundtrack thanks to James Gunn's particular taste of music, tons of fun, has a lot of room to breathe for pacing rather than 6-episodes. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. JOHN CENA IS ALSO A CO-EXECUTIVE PRODUCER?! I can't wait to see more, and how the ever-living hell is the team gonna fight against a global threat?

Episode 2 (9/10) > Episode 1 (8/10).

10/10.

I am really enjoying the over the top absurdity, but someone clearly knows very little about the ballistics of a .50 cal! It's going to go through one head, through the other head, then out through the wall.

We Need More Vigilante and Judomaster
alanduran-6254323 January 2022
I'm really enjoying this adaption of Peacemaker, and I am glad the Charlton Comics characters are finally starting to get their due. John Cena makes a great Peacemaker. Peacemaker and Vigilante make a nice duo. I never read the Vigilante comic book, but this characterization by Freddie Stroma now has me interested in the DC character. The introduction of Judomaster is a welcome addition also. The supporting cast is nicely gelling too. It's a very funny series.

Better Goff Dead
Prismark105 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After this episode you have a fair idea what Project Butterfly could be about.

Peacemaker has been assigned to kill Senator Goff and his family. Only that Peacemaker has issues with killing kids.

The family are protected by Judomaster who Peacemaker thinks with be a cinch.

When the time comes to kill. Peacemaker gets the shakes ad Vigilante steps up.

I would say when doing an assassination kill the top mark first. Vigilante put his foot in it and now might pay the price.

There is a lot of banter and also some good action. Judomaster was no slouch.

The main plot seems to be developing. John Cena seems to be having fun.

Better Goff Dead

Apparently, this show was entirely conceived in eight weeks, in which James Gunn wrote all the episodes. As someone who knows how difficult it is to write a script for a short film, it's almost inspiring that Gunn felt so connected to this ridiculous character to the point where he didn't even have to spend that much time coming up with an entire show for him. And judging from the appearance in "The Suicide Squad," this is not necessarily the first character that come to mind when thinking about a potential spinoff show. But Gunn saw the potential in the character, and by his great mind, came up with a show that would further develop and utilize the character in the best ways possible. What he's doing with this show, though, is asking the question of whether or not this character is thoroughly evil or if he has a moral compass, despite his claims during the events of the film. If that's the thing that's gonna keep me invested, then let that be it, because so far, I haven't seen anything from this show that's going to convince me that hanging on and believing that this is great is a bad idea. In the third episode, we see the characters on a mission to assassinate a family where the patriarch may be a "butterfly." And the reason why this episode hit a lot better than the other two great episodes is because of the emotional pull and the character development, especially that of its lead.

We got the idea from "The Suicide Squad" that Peacemaker was a character who stood by his beliefs and would kill anyone to acquire peace. This show is silently pulling that belief apart and giving us a more vulnerable character with a lot of trauma. The reason why he's doing all of this and wants to belief that he'd do anything is because of how he was brought up. We've already been introduced to his crazy father and have seen his roots, so the fact that he'd hide under this tough persona makes so much sense in the long run.

However, the emotional pull of the episode and the dive into the character of Christopher Smith over his persona as Peacemaker, is wonderfully balanced out by the incredible humor. Never have a torture sequence been as funny as it is here, and never had I enjoyed watching casual murder more. Gunn is someone who will do whatever it takes to get a laugh, even if it means making a funny situation out of something macabre. Luckily, he also knows good comedy and makes every joke laugh harder than the last until you can't possibly laugh any more, which you do.

The show is giving us a great bundle of characters to follow. This episode took more time to put Vigilante into the mix and it ended up providing a clearly psychopathic character, who is just a kid on the inside. Knowing Gunn and his beliefs, I'm sure that he meant this to be a comment on today's youth and the double standard of many people in the U. S. Showing the innocence underneath the crazy, but not humanizing the deeds that they're committing. Gunn is a good enough writer to make it feel honest, and he certainly does with this character.

They also decided to pump up the action for this one. They introduce a character called Judomaster, and every single scene with him ended in ass-kicking fights that mostly ended with his opponents on the ground. Gunn makes these fight scenes feel really grounded through the way he shoots them and goes in close on every punch. It's still very stylized and quick, but it's done with a lot of passion and a lot of vision. The participants do their job marvelously, but Gunn brings it all to life with his vibrant direction and knowledge of gritty and nutty action.

"Better Goff Dead" puts this character into a different light, finally showing him as what he really is: a character with a lot of doubt. He's not a hard badass as we've been led to believe and that makes him so much more compelling but doesn't stop him from actually kicking ass when it's needed.

FINALY...
forpassord14 April 2022
...there are at least a little bit more than short sequences with action and some more plot and story, but still the infantile and stupid humor. For example: I like female anatomy as much as the next guy, but in the scene in the car I would say that it is used out of place and in a speculative and childish way.

Juvenile "Kick ass" wannabe
nicofrench-564-41341221 January 2022
This is some of the worst James Gunn has made yet and it is bad. Dialogues are forced and cringeworthy at best.

Action scenes are sloppy and feels cheap.

But evering to know about the show is shown in the intro part.

Wow! This episode was wild!
Coolmade200025 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Oh my gosh! I was so amazed by the story of this episode. It delivers so well on what kind of story is told and how each characters behaves. Peacemaker rethinks about his code to kill anyone for peace, even if they are women and children. Here, his own code is put to the test on the mission. So to me, I got an experience to see if he could actually do that or he was just all talk. I love the scene when Leota Adebayo hesitates to shoot the bodyguard of the family showing her character to be too innocent to kill another human being or a creature with an appearance of a human. I also liked Harcourt's character. This episode handles her well as a character who puts the mission first and can make the hardest sacrifices.

The character relationship between Peacemaker and Vigilante keeps cracking me up! I love their banter, even if Peacemaker is the only one bantering at Vigilante. Especially during the torture scene, Peacemaker didn't care about Vigilante's well-being, and it was hilarious!

Lastly, Judomaster is the coolest character now. His personality is so hilarious and he fights so well too.

Perfect balance between Hilarity and Brutality
This episode was awesome, with many hilarious scenes that you love to see and some graphical violence. The story is getting better and seeing Peacemaker vulnerable is very interesting.

So I've made it to episode 3. Honestly have no idea what is going on. It's awful. Cheesey. But I can't stop watching it. John Cena is funny as. Seriously though, disengage brain and enjoy.

more action, more story, less going on
braininacat12 February 2022
Though this is the episode that finally starts to explain some major plot points, the episode itself feels a little flat and washed as it follows a very common sequence of actions that has been used a million times over in other shows. The violence is abundant though and for those that came for that, there is plenty of fun.

The best episode so far!
moritzherz6 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What a blast! The second part of the episode with Peacemaker and his crew fighting against the butterflies was very enjoyable watching. And this green little cobra kai (I like this reference!) is so badass. The action scenes look very good, the music is great and the performance of the cast is amazing as well.

We also get some character development of our hero Peacemaker. He is struggeling to kill some kids who are butterflies so his friend vigilante has to kill them.

All in all this episode was very entertaining and had some very funny moments. This show delivers and delivers. Let's see to what greatness this will lead to!

Decent
mvanek-4858629 March 2023
See I really enjoyed this show. The one gripe I have with this show is the banter that goes on gets so drawn out that he becomes not funny anymore. You know how in film or tv where an argument goes on and on which is supposed to be WHY it's funny? They try so hard to do that here to the point where you get annoyed real quick. Aside from that the action and fight scenes are actually good. The violence isn't over done either. It also had more heart than I thought it would. Regardless I'm still very worried about James Gunns take on the whole DCU. I hate Peacemakers suit. He looks like he's about to entertain children at a birthday party. Or standing on a corner in Hollywood.
