I still want to believe with this show

Obviously it's understandable for them to expand season 2 as not only about Ian & Poppy, but probably that would feel good after we have 20-ish episode exploring them first?

I felt like there's so much they can explore to create and joke about Ian & Poppy but it's just not that much in season 2? I'm not connecting much with sideline stories of testers, Abed, and C. W at the moment in comparison to Ian & Poppy season 1.

This is probably what you get when make just 9-10 episode for 1 season and then suddenly season 2 you feel the need that 'wait wait what about others...'

The Ian and Poppy dynamic feels odd at times, which is what they are going for, but the emotional moments don't always work as intended. Tonight was an example. Just didn't care.

Season 2 gets better and better

Warning: Spoilers
Some of the reviews here have got it incredulously wrong so I decided to write my own.

Okay, this episode was absolutely amazing.

We had two episodes where most of the main cast weren't present and we had some expansion on C. W. Fantastic.

The transition between this episode was great. We finally see Rachel finding her purpose, and Dana hard at work with Grouchy Goat.

Poppy and Ian's egos continue to crash into each other and each of them suffer because of it.

We see Jo finding out that Zach doesn't care about her and instead, actually wants to incriminate her with a serious felony. David losing his purpose a little (and still hilariously trying to hold onto his wolf status).

Jesus christ. This episode has a lot going on but it ultimately worked. The cast was amazing as always and it carries the things we've learned in the past episodes into this one with seemingly little effort.

The endings in these episodes keep on being bittersweet but unlike Breaking Brad and Sign Here Please, there is actually hope in it. Poppy singing to Ian was a perfect was for the two to sort of make up.

Man this show just finds new ways to punch me in the gut every time I watch it. This episode really got me. I had wondered for a while, having read the description for the episode back when the premiere aired, how this episode was going to play out and nothing I thought of could've prepared me for this. I really loved this episode like I've loved this whole season. They really outdid themselves this year. Very excited for the finale.
