Heels has an excellent cast, and Mary McCormack and Chris Bauer are proof of that.
We got details from them on Mary's character, Willie, and Chris's character, Wild Bill, during the Heels press day.
We had a lively discussion with them, and it's also indicative of the characters they play in the new Starz drama. Check it out.
Mary, can you tell me a little bit about your character from your perspective, about Willie?
Mary: Yeah, I love playing Willie. I mean, we've been talking a lot about it today, so I'm thinking about it more and more, but I think, at first glance, you think like, oh, she's so in control, and she's running the place, and she makes the trains run on time, and she has to police all these wrestlers and keep their egos in check and manipulate everything to make it all work.

When ITV CEO Carolyn McCall unveiled her strategy refresh late last year, content was one of three key pillars. That put ITV Studios firmly in the spotlight, and its boss, Julian Bellamy, is the exec tasked with delivering growth across the production business.

As Bellamy speaks to Variety at ITV’s new digs in London’s Holborn district, where the company moved after vacating its previous home on the banks of the Thames, ratings figures have just landed.

Walter Hill’s “The Long Riders,” (1980) is an account of the last days of the legendary James-Younger outlaw gang. The film starts with a botched bank job, in which one of the gang, Ed Miller (Dennis Quaid), gets nervous and shoots an unarmed customer. There’s more shooting and they manage to get away but everyone agrees Ed’s got to go. It’s the first indication of trouble—the first sign that the gang’s best days may be behind them. The rest of the film follows the trajectory of their decline, as they attract the attention of the Pinkerton Detective Agency, and make a disastrous attempt to rob a bank in Northfield, Minn.

Jeff Bridges chats to us about movies, Kingsman, westerns, Iron Man and more...
When preparing for an interview it can often be a double edged sword if you choose to look at other peoples’ work. Sometimes you read an interview and the answers can look frighteningly short, so panic might set in that perhaps that person isn’t very chatty, or doesn’t like doing them (though often publications just choose to use highlights), but I have to say that with Jeff Bridges, I’m glad I’d read Celia Walden’s talk with him for the Telegraph first.
I wouldn’t usually reference what I’d read in an introduction, but once you know you’re going to be sat in a room with Jeff Bridges, alone, for fifteen minutes, you need as much preparation as possible – he is, after all, a cinematic legend who needs no introduction.

★★★☆☆ Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Eddie the Eagle, British actor Dexter Fletcher's third directorial outing after Wild Bill and Sunshine on Leith, is a speedy, light-hearted biopic of the remarkable young lad from Cheltenham who took the ski jumping world by storm at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. A film which is both reassuring and a little disappointing in its compliance with standard triumph over adversity sports pictures, its formula is a tried and tested one which nevertheless hits all the right highs and lows to provide a familiar roller-coaster of a feel-good movie.

The 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary was one for the underdogs, and inspirational sports movies, with the Jamaican national Bobsled and underdog ski jumper Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, finishing last in all his events but winning over the audience with his charm and enthusiasm, both stepping up to the plate. The first subject, of course, inspired Cool Runnings, and now Dexter Fletcher (Wild Bill, Sunshine on Leith) is bringing Eddie the Eagle to the big screen, with Taron Egerton donning the glasses of ‘heroic failure’ Edwards in a story that delivers a charming, joyous and delightful tale of determination and belief in one self. Eddie the Eagle is a rare beast in this day and age, an old school style sports movie that is more concerned with putting a smile on your face than delivering the facts. Much of what is presented onscreen is the product of John Macaulay’s script,...

Michael Edwards (a.k.a Eddie) is a British sports phenomenon, so it's only fitting that the international trailer differs quite a bit from the U.S. version. The latest domestic promo to drop sells a lot more of the inspirational angle of the based-on-a-true-story tale directed by Dexter Fletcher ("Wild Bill," "Sunshine On Leith"), and I don't know, as cornball as this might look, it's beginning to have an effect on me. In 1988, Eddie Edwards became the first ever competitor to represent Britain in Olympic ski jumping, and while he finished last in both the events he competed in, he became a media celebrity thanks to his never give up attitude. Now, this underdog story is coming to the big screen with Dexter Fletcher’s (Wild Bill, Sunshine on Leith) Eddie the Eagle. From this trailer alone, I think we’re onto something special here. The central pairing of Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Hugh Jackman is absolutely perfect, and the light tone promises something akin to classic underdog tales (for the subject matter alone, this is conjuring images of Cool Runnings), as well as a lot of laughs. The trailer has me smiling from ear to ear. I can’t wait to see how I feel after watching the movie. Released: 26th February 2016 (U.S.)/ 1st April (Irl/U.

Jokers, circus masters and demonic dolls. Which TV characters terrify you? Den Of Geek asked its writers that very question…
The subconscious is a terrible place; dark, mysterious and peopled by spectres from the past. As a bit of a laugh then, we sent our writers journeying into theirs and asked them to drag out any TV terrors they found lurking in the shadows.
Some television fears had been ensconced there since childhood, others were more recent tenants. Some were morally terrifying; human beings with icy hearts capable of atrocities, others were simply… atrocities.
Join us as we count down in order of terror from the sort-of-creepy to the downright terrifying, the 50 TV characters that, for whatever reason, give our writers chills. It’s by no means an exhaustive list, so feel free to fill in gaps by adding your own peculiar television nightmares below…

He’s been a go-to guy for the likes of Matthew Vaughn and Guy Ritchie for years, a character actor you can depend on for memorable performances. Now, though, Jason Flemyng has decided to follow friend Dexter Fletcher behind the camera, planning to direct a vampire action film called Reign Of Blood. And the Fletcher connections continue with the writer as Wild Bill script man Danny King is responsible for the screenplay on this one. It’s been floating in development for around a decade according to King himself, and nearly made its way into production last year before falling at the final hurdle. The plot finds a gathering of powerful vampires whose meeting is rudely gatecrashed by a detachment of vampire-slaying special forces troops led by Captain Bingham, who has made it his mission to destroy the fang club – but wasn’t expecting to encounter an entire coven. Soon,...

Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") are teaming up for the languishing biopic "Eddie the Eagle".
The true story tale deals with Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, the first British ski jumper in Olympic history. Though he came last in both of his ski jumping events at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Eddie became a media sensation.
Jackman will play Chuck Berghorn, a ski jumping expert from Lake Placid who helps Eddie train. Egerton won the title role after a "magical screen test" with Jackman, and beat out the likes of George MacKay and Jamie Bell for the part.
Timothy Spall is being sought for the role of Eddie's father. Dexter Fletcher ("Wild Bill") is directing from a script by Simon Kelton and Sean Macaulay.
Matthew Vaughn is attached to produce and filming aims to begin this spring.

I’m just going to come right out and say it, I am a huge fan of Nacho Vigalondo. He made one of the best “time travel” movies of all time, with Timecrimes in 2007. Since then, he has been involved with mostly horror anthology films, such as his segment ABCs of Death segment, A is for Apocalypse, and his segment titled Sins of the Father, for the Still unreleased Profane Exhibit. For right now, we’ll focus on Nacho V’s high-tech, LSD-inspired love letter to Hitchcock’s Rear Window, Open Windows, starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey. I compare the film to Rear Window, because the influence is apparent. In all reality though, only the core concept of the film is borrowed, and used as a building block to form a complex, technological game of cat and mouse. The story would have you believe that this is simply about...

It may be something of a cliché to brand a talented young actor a rising star, but in Will Poulter’s case the label can be forgiven — he was presented with the Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAs, the big awards handed out by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
Poulter first came to the public’s attention after making his big-screen debut at age 15 in the charming British film Son of Rambow, about two boys making a homemade follow-up to the original Rambo film, First Blood. This was followed byThe Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, before he went on to steal the show in Dexter Fletcher’s Wild Bill, and impress a wider North American audience with his very funny performance in last year’s We’re the Millers, co-starring Jennifer Aniston. Writer-director Gerard Johnson’s sophomore feature, starring Peter Ferdinando as a corrupt London cop, is set to screen at Tiff next month, and the first stunning clip from the film has been released. According to THR, the pic owes a heavy debt to Gaspar Noe in one violent encounter; meanwhile Michael Mann and Nicolas Winding Refn duly pop up elsewhere in the palette. Tiff programmer Colin Geddes says director Johnson gives us a worthy UK cousin to Abel Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant and The Guardian calls it an ambitiously scaled police-corruption thriller. Watch the clip below. The film also stars Stephen Graham (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), MyAnna Buring (Downton Abbey), Neil Maskell (Wild Bill), Elisa Lasowski (Somers Town) and Richard Dormer (Good Vibrations). London’s biggest film export event returns with a new name and strong selection of upcoming titles.
This year’s London Screenings (June 23-26) marks the 11th edition of the capital’s biggest film export event and has been given a make-over for 2014.
It has dropped the previous title of the London UK Film Focus (Luff) and will introduce various new strands. But organisers are quick to point out this isn’t a case of reinventing the event - more of “buffing it up” after more than a decade.
“Everyone felt that after doing it for 10 years, maybe it was time for a bit of a facelift,” says Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London, which organises the London Screenings.
The budget of around $330,000 is roughly the same as in previous years. The key difference is that the event, which generates an estimated $8m a year in international business for British films and sales agents, has secured...

The team behind the long-gestating Freddie Mercury biopic has suffered another setback, with news arriving via Deadline that Wild Bill / Sunshine On Leith director Dexter Fletcher, who was attached to the project back in December, has now left the project. The cause of his departure hasn’t been revealed; the report simply mentions that he didn’t see eye-to-eye with the producers, which includes Brian May and the rest of Queen. We’re hopeful he may one day be more candid on the matter when enough time has passed.Fletcher’s hiring alongside Ben Whishaw (who replaced Sacha Baron Cohen) meant that the filmmakers, who include writer Peter Morgan, could kick off pre-production on the film. Whishaw is still aboard, and all involved are now looking for another director to keep things on track and the planned summer shoot alive. At its core, the film will focus on the formative...

Our voyage through history's underappreciated films arrives at the year 2011, and a great year for lesser-seen gems...
Even a cursory glance at the top 10 grossing films of 2011 reveals something strange: nine of the entries are sequels. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 brought the fantasy franchise to a close with a staggering $1.3bn haul. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon wasn't too far behind with just over $1.1bn. On Stranger Tides continued the Pirates Of The Caribbean series' wave of success, despite mixed reviews.
Elsewhere in the top 10, you'll find another Twilight, a fourth Mission: Impossible, a second Kung Fu Panda, a fifth Fast, another Hangover, and further Cars. Standing alone on the list is The Smurfs, the adaptation of Peyo's Belgian comic strip. In fact, 2011 saw the release of no fewer than 28 sequels - the most we've yet seen in any given year.
