In early development, Marco Mejia, the gender-nonconforming queer character at the heart of the new series Glamorous — set inside the world of the makeup business — was conceived as a much younger character.
“Literally, Marco was in high school,” recalls Miss Benny, who plays him on the show, which debuts June 22. But over the four years that the actor (and former YouTube star) was attached to the project, “It got retooled and written so many times and is at a different network [Netflix] — and now Marco’s just like, an out-and-proud-living homosexual,” says the L.A.-based actor, 24, who grew up in Denton, Texas, and has had roles on Fuller House; Love, Victor; and American Horror Story. “When we shot the pilot, I had to shave like three times a day to somehow look like I was 17. And this time, they were like, ‘No, you can just be you.'”

The Hearthstone team has revealed the game’s upcoming Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expansion, and everything we’ve heard so far suggests it could be the game’s most meaningful expansion yet.
The upcoming expansion will also feature the usual number of new cards (135). Among the new cards are the return of the “Old Gods” Legendaries who each produce some potentially game-changing effects when played. There’s also a new keyword called “Corrupt” which basically allows you to upgrade a corrupted card by playing a card that costs more than it does. Interestingly, Blizzard has announced that they will supplement that set by releasing 35 card mini-expansions between the release of Darkmoon Faire and the debut of Hearthstone‘s next full set sometime in 2021.
For more information on Madness at the Darkmoon Faire‘s new cards, be sure to check out this blog post.

After weeks in the scaled-down warehouse set, “World of Dance” finally advanced to its main stage on Tuesday night, August 4. Six Upper Division acts and six Junior Division acts advanced to the Semi-Finals as we inch closer to the million-dollar finale. So who was up to this latest challenge? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
The previous three seasons of “World of Dance” took place entirely on the main stage, from the Qualifiers to the World Final. This season’s format gives us — and of course the judges — an opportunity to consider each act in different contexts. How good are they on a spare stage with no bells and whistles and no audience, as they were in this year’s Qualifiers? And then how well are they able to scale up their routines to fit the heightened energy and intensity of the studio space?...

“World of Dance” is getting closer and closer to the main stage. On July 28, “The Duels 4” completed this round of the competition for the Junior Division with two final battles: Keagan Capps vs. Maddy Penny and James and Harris vs. Bailey and Kida. Then of course there’s also the redemption round where guest judge Stephen “Twitch” Boss chooses two of the losing acts from the division to get a second chance. Scroll down for our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
In “The Duels 3” on July 21, three acts won their head-to-head battles and earned a spot in the upcoming Semi-Finals: the contemporary trio Mdc 3, nine-year-old jazz dancer Savannah Manzel and Canadian hip-hop crew Grvmnt. They defeated, respectively, the fusion team Chibi Unity, the Latin ballroom troupe 305 and the hip-hop crew The Young Cast; those three will hope to get the nod from Twitch for a...

Ballet duo Styles and Emma may go down in “World of Dance” history as a cautionary tale: dance every routine like it might be your last. They wowed the judges during the Qualifiers, but then they were upset during the Duels and left the judges wondering if they had anything more to offer. Luckily for them, guest judge Stephen “Twitch” Boss chose them to perform again during the redemption round, but was it too little too late? Watch their redemption routine above.
This was the team that already gave Jennifer Lopez goosies in the Qualifiers, but their Duel didn’t quite rise to the same level. Their opponent, contemporary soloist Kurtis Sprung, noticeably improved from his Qualifiers performance, having taken the judges’ notes about improving his emotional expression. So Sprung won the Duel in a split decision, leaving Styles and Emma praying for a second chance.

There hasn’t been a Latin act in the “World of Dance” finale since Swing Latino made the final three in the very first season. Can the Junior Division troupe 305 do it this year? The judges were ambivalent about their Qualifiers performance, so much that they didn’t automatically advance the youngsters to the next round. Instead, they wanted to see more from the precocious competitors before making a final decision. So they invited 305 to “The Callbacks.” How did they do the second time around? Watch their routine to “Pica” above.

Derek Hough told them, “That song was so unbelievably hype, and you guys matched that in some areas,” but then the beat dropped and he “wasn’t feeling what the music was doing in what you guys were dancing.

Genre filmmaker Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network announced today that Alfred Molina (The Da Vinci Code, Spider Man 2) has been cast as Andres Galan in the network's upcoming scripted original set to premiere July 2014. Previously announced cast members include Gabriel Luna, Nicky Whelan and Neil Hopkins.
Created by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and produced in association with K/O Paper Products, the coveted writing/producing team behind Sleepy Hollow, Fringe , Star Trek and the Transformer franchise, Matador will feature Molina as Andrew Galan, a man who built his fortune in the telecom industry, but his true passion is soccer. As owner of the ascendant La Riot franchise, he is celebrated in both the sports and business worlds. But there is another world that he operates in -- as a member of an elite group of powerful global players, ruthless individuals who can effect world events on a scale that one would never imagine. What Galan doesn't know is that there is a mole in his midst. One of his new players, Tony Bravo, is actually an undercover operative, sent in to expose him and his cohorts. As Tony and Galan grow closer, the fate of their relationship may very well determine the fate of the world.
Irreverent and action-packed, Matador chronicles the unlikely rise of Antonio "Matador" Bravo, a popular soccer star, who comes to be known as much for his playboy antics off the field as his dynamic moves on it. But what his fans and family don't realize is that it's all a cover--in truth, he is a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little known branch of the CIA. “Matador” has the kind of fame and notoriety that affords him access to powerful circles of corruption and villainy. But, in balancing the dueling roles in which he's been cast, he will be forced to confront the question of his true identity...and it is this mission which will prove to be his most dangerous.
Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network's chairman and founder, is set to direct the first episode which will be penned by showrunners, co-creators and executive producers Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin

When he's not doing epic splits, Jean-Claude Van Damme is also making movies, and his latest, "Swelter," might get you hot under the collar. And certainly the heat is coming off this first image. He stars alongside Alfred Molina, Lennie James, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Freya Tingley in the thriller which has just left the American Film Market having pretty much sold out around the world. The North American deal will be announced soon, but until then, here's the official synopsis: Swelter is the story of the most notorious robbery in Las Vegas history. Five men, nicknamed the Rat Pack, hit the Luxor Casino for over one hundred million dollars. Four of the men are soon captured, while one barely escapes. Ten years later, after blasting their way out of a maximum-security prison, the four jailed members of the Rat Pack are hot on the trail of their former accomplice...

The key cast are Tony Jaa, Dolph Lundgren, Conan Stevens, David Ismalone and Jakkrit Kanokpodjananon, so clearly the guy in the photo I thought may have been Patrick Kazu Tang was not. Story? The film is an action film...
