THIS ONE GOT REAL

I live in north Texas and several years ago I went to live & work in south Texas for a short time. Fracking had just came on the scene and it does affect so many lives. I appreciated this episode, its really hard to fight the money.

The shocker in this episode was seeing Elliott so sensitive. This episode has some good writing and as always, such good acting. Elliott doesn't need anyone else in the scene, he can hold his own but it was great that everyone was involved.

As usual, some good fight scenes, lots of laughs and plotting thats makes you go, what?? Lol keep it up guys and gals! Until next time.

The Fractured Job

Warning: Spoilers
We have gotten a lot of fun cases and mysteries on this show, but we finally got one this season with a little bit of heart to it.

As a fan of the Apple TV+ show Home Before Dark this played into that story (and I guess countless movies) about a corrupt group of people poisoning the water supply. Familiar premise, but good execution.

The characters all played their roles well tonight and it just felt like the best parts of the old Leverage on TNT and this modern reboot on Freevee.

This has been one of the highlights of Season 2, but there were quite a few episodes that were better in the first season.

FINALLY

I felt so happy/proud of Eliot/Christian Kane. He's always the more silent type and I've been feeling like his character has been missing something since the breakup last season. I'm happy that both actor/character got this opportunity to tell this story.

This was the episode I had been eager to see. They put that little possibility, that thread out there in the previous series and it was a satisfying feeling to loop that thread into this series at last.

And holy crap they did not waste a moment of this episode! They even had a Hardison cameo which was a clever way to keep his character in it, BUT I wish he and Eliot could have actually shared the space for some of those more weighty scenes. It's not that Christian can't act to nothing but it would have made the scene better - grounded a little more. (But that is outside of their control so I give it a pass - I just miss Hardison being in it more).

Regardless, a delight and bravo for them really diving into the characters this season. Love it!

A full 10 from me.

This one made me actually cry at the end. I HATE CRYING.

Elliot & Billy making amends touched me in a way I'm not used to having to deal with.

The story itself was a typical Leverage story, but the Elliot story hit me hard. Actually made me cry for the relationship I never had with my own father.

The rest of it was great, of course, but it's the missed opportunity to reconnect with ones loved ones and move forward together that actually hit me.

I'm more in love with this show than I ever was, and I've been watching since the original Leverage.

I still wish they'd have figured out a way to forgive Timothy Hutton, but this is a worthy successor.

Ugh. Really?

Warning: Spoilers
I try to overlook all the social justice warrior nonsense and just let the episodes do their thing. But this one I had to stop watching. This was garbage right from the beginning. Clearly written by someone who has zero experience or knowledge of frac'ing or the oil and gas industry at all. The ignorance that was being spread was disgraceful. I had to stop less than 10 minutes in. I'm all for a good cause and progress, but at least spend so.e time to look and learn about an issue before you make a show that espouses so much false information in the guise of entertainment. If you're going to lambast an industry then at least use correct info.

Research!

Tulsa is NOT the captol of Oklahoma! The wokeness is getting to be too much. Do your research! I love the characters and the actors, but give them better scripts.

Did you run out of fat cat bad guys? Harrison is always a welcome addition. Sophie & Harry could use a life outside of Leverage Inc.. Parker's development has been nice to see. Breanna still seems like the odd fish. Elliot finally seeing his dad- fantastic! Father/son dynamic seems believable.

Fight scenes make everything more watchable.

I recommend this episode, and this entire series, so far. The original is still the gold standard to beat.

Extremely poorly written...
imdb-81988 March 2023
Setting aside the glaring factual errors, the entire plot was cheaply contrived and amateurish. It's a shame, because the original series had a lot of creative ideas and plots. Rather than the kind of creative climax the original series was known for, this series seems to rely on hastily scribble, pulp hack endings that would be more appropriate for a comic book. What's worse is the writers having the "good guys" using the same sleazy, underhanded tricks the bad guys use. This gives a miserable ethical conundrum where we have one set of liars fighting another set of liars with no real definition of why one would be better than the other.
