It was finally passed with an R-rating in February 1973. The censor described the 2353.65-meter (86:02) print as a 'new version'.

Sugar Cookies: Previously listed as rejected on Lists No 8/72. After review film classified as 'Restricted' Film Censorship Board and Films Board of Review.

Presumably, this uncut version of SUGAR COOKIES went on to play theatrically in Australia.

In August 1972, a 2773.06-meter (101:05) print of SKYJACKED was banned by the Censorship Board. This decision was made on the orders of Don Chipp, the Liberal Minister for Custom and Excise.

Following their win at the December 1972 election, the Labour Government soon reconsidered the ban. On the orders of the Attorney-General, Lionel Murphy, the film was resubmitted to the Censorship Board.

The same 2773.06-meter (101:05) print was finally passed with an M-rating on March 1st 1973.

Following the introduction of the R-rating, it was resubmitted in a 1078.22-meter (98:15) 16mm print. This too was banned because of 'indecency' in September 1972.

A censored 1042.00-meter (94:57) 16mm print was passed with an R-rating in December 1974.

25. The School Girls (1970)

In July 1973, a 2702.53-meter (98:30) print was censored by 24.99-meters (00:55) for an R-rating. The cuts were made to remove 'excessive violence'. This version ran the same length as the original August 1972 submission. It is unclear why only 00:55 of cuts could achieve an R-rating, when in December 1972, 02:55 still resulted in a ban.
