Kevin Lewis will follow up “Willy’s Wonderland” by directing “The Accursed,” a new horror movie about demonic possession that its creators predict will be like if “Sam Raimi and Dario Argento had a love child and James Wan was its uncle.”
Mena Suvari (“American Beauty”), Sarah Grey (Netflix’s “The Order” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”), and Alexis Knapp (“Pitch Perfect” franchise) head up the cast, which also includes Meg Foster (“The Lords of Salem”) and Sarah Dumont (“Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse”). “Willy’s Wonderland,” an action-comedy horror film, became a pandemic era favorite when it was released on VOD and in limited theatrical release last February.
Rob Kennedy (“Midnight Man”) penned the screenplay for “The Accursed.” According to the official description, it centers on a young woman who faces a horrifying past. When her estranged mother dies by suicide, Elly (Grey) is forced to return home from volunteering as a nurse abroad.

Once upon a time, the idea of competing projects for major studios was a no-no. Then Deep Impact and Armageddon came along and effectively canceled each other out. The lesson learned in that case was: it doesn’t really matter if another movie embracing the same subject matter is also in development, it only matters if it’s better. So, that being said, yet another King Arthur movie has now appeared on the industry radar to rival Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Knights Of The Roundtable.

Never mind helping old ladies cross the street or any other good deeds that the Boy Scouts are known for. For our money any Scout worth his salt will have to fend off hordes of flesh-eating ghouls before we give him a merit badge.
According to THR, Tye Sheridan, the actor who broke through playing opposite Matthew McConaughey in last year's indie drama Mud, has nabbed his first studio movie. The young thespian has signed on for the lead role in Boy Scouts vs. Zombies, Paramount's horror comedy to be directed by Christopher Landon.
The story centers on three high school Boy Scouts who must use their skills to battle vicious zombies after their small town faces an outbreak. Sheridan will play the budding honors student who is handsome and athletic but doesn't know it yet, still lacking the confidence needed to talk to girls he likes.

Landon will do a director’s pass on the Black List script by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuk, which was re-written by Lona Williams, whose draft attracted directors to the project. Production begins in the spring. What’s it about? Think it through. Be Prepared (For Zombies)
Paramount has picked up Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki Boyscouts Vs. Zombies, a horror tale about, you guessed it, zombie killing Boy Scouts.
According to Bloody Disgusting:
[Boyscouts vs. Zombies] is about a local boy scout troop that must save the local girl scout troop from a zombie outbreak on an overnight camping trip. The film is being produced by Todd Garner’s Broken Road, Oops Doughnuts partners Andy Fickman and Betsy Sullenger, and Bryan Brucks’ Brucks Entertainment.
The script is off the fabled “Black List”, a Hollywood repository of excellently written screenplays that just haven’t had the juice, attachments or buzz to get made. There’s no timetable on the film, but expect it to have a “Goonies” vibe.

Deadline reports that Paramount has acquired the rights to Boy Scouts Vs. Zombies. The Black List script is penned by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki who are two graduates of the Disney Writing Program who also scripted College Road Trip. The script follows the same path as Goonies and tells the story of a local boy scout troop that must save the local girl scout troop from a zombie outbreak on an overnight camping trip. Todd Garner's Broken Road will be producing the movie along with Oops Doughnuts partners Andy Fickman and Betsy Sullenger, and Bryan Brucks' Brucks Entertainment with Sean Robins executive producing. So, who all is ready for a film like this? It sounds more like something we'd see on the Disney Channel, Nickelodeon or the Family Channel.

A screenplays on The Black List can mean some green. Days after the new list was revealed by Deadline, two scripts have found homes; Vendome Pictures has just committed to finance What Happened To Monday?, a futuristic thriller by Max Botkin that was developed by Raffaella Productions. The script follows the story of identical septuplet brothers who struggle to stay alive in an overpopulated world where a "one child" policy outlaws siblings. Raffaella De Laurentiis and Vendome's Philippe Rousselet are producing. Vendome financed the Summit release Source Code and the Tom Hanks-directed Larry Crowne, which gets released by Universal July 1, 2011 with Hanks, Julia Roberts and Bryan Cranston starring. CAA and Eml Entertainment rep Botkin. Paramount Pictures has acquired Boy Scouts Vs. With the publication of the 2010 Black List another compilation of the year's best unproduced screenplays has arrived. This is the fifth year that The Black List has been in existence, and its purpose is to shine a spotlight on what 290 film executives think are some of the best creative executions of ideas worthy for the big screen.
To be nominated and included on The Black List a screenplay can't have been released in 2010. As well, the minimum number of votes that a screenplay needed to have to warrant inclusion on the list is five. Several of the projects listed on Tbl are in development and will be released in the next twelve months. Others might have heat but take years to reach theaters, and there are also many that will never be greenlighted.

Back in 2004, a list was compiled of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood of that year. This came to be known as The Black List. It was all started by a young executive at Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way, who polled 90+ peers to send him their 10 favorite, new, unproduced screenplays to read over the holidays. It has since become a tradition at the end of every year, in December, to release this list, which is voted on by a group of individuals in the entertainment industry from producer assistants, talent agency individuals, and many people involved with film development all the way up to VP's.
The 2010 Black List is here, and thanks to Deadline we have the list of best unproduced screenplays. Most of the scripts we've heard of, many of them are in production, some have already wrapped filming, they just wont be released until next year.

The Black List has been released. The annual list is compiled with a poll of 300 (up from last year's 250) development executives and high-level assistants, and contains a ranking of the hot screenplays making the rounds in Hollywoodland, which were written in, or are somehow uniquely associated with, 2010 and will not be released in theaters during this calendar year. Basically, the black list contains the hottest projects in Hollywood that you haven't heard of yet. Note: The headline is a slightly inaccurate, because a lot of these screenplays have already been acquired (six of the top ten listed), a bunch are in production now, and some have even finished production. One of this year's top ten screenplays, J.C. Chandor's Margin Call, about the last 24 hours at now-defunct investment bank Lehman Brothers is already in the can and set to premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival with Chandor at the helm...

Frank Leonard is the most popular man in Hollywood today. This fine December day marks the release of the 6th annual Black List, a ranked collection of the top un-produced screenplays in the town, compiled by Leonard. Last year the top script was The Muppet Man from Christopher Weekes about “the life and times of the late Jim Henson.” Coming in second was Aaron Sorkin‘s The Social Network script, which is a current frontrunner to sweep the Oscars. The year before was The Beaver, now starring Mel Gibson and set for a release in 2011.
