Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Breaking Dawn Steven Spielberg/Jeremy Irvine/War Horse Opens Strongly; Cameron Crowe/Matt Damon/Scarlett Johansson/We Bought A Zoo Disappoints: Box Office Rounding out the top ten at the domestic box office this Christmas weekend was Amy Adams-Jason Segel's The Muppets with $2.14m according to studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo. And that means Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, went the way of its three predecessors: David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Chris Weisz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight were all gone from the top-ten chart after five weekends. What's most surprising is how far down on the chart Breaking Dawn landed: no. 16 (both for the tree-day and the four-day weekend periods). Summit has lowered the film's estimates from $2.1m to $1.52m...

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Breaking Dawn Cameron Crowe/Matt Damon/Scarlett Johansson/We Bought A Zoo Disappoints, David Fincher/Daniel Craig/Rooney Mara/The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Passable: Box Office The no. 7 movie this Christmas weekend at the domestic box office will surely be Steven Spielberg's War Horse, which, as mentioned in part I of this three-part box-office article, is expected to gross close to $7 million on opening day — today. In addition to its four-legged star(s), War Horse features Jeremy Irvine, two-time Oscar nominee Emily Watson, Thor's Tom Hiddleston, Peter Mullan, Niels Arestrup, David Thewlis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Kebbell, David Kross, Celine Buckens, Patrick Kennedy, Robert Emms, and Eddie Marsan. Sunday's other wide release, The Darkest Hour, an apocalyptic sci-fi thriller, isn't expected to make much of a splash at the box office despite showings at 2,324 locations. In fact, there's a good chance it won't...

Patrick Fugit, Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, We Bought a Zoo David Fincher/Rooney Mara/Daniel Craig's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to Surpass Swedish Original's Total Gross Over One Weekend: Box Office Despite the presence of Matt Damon, one of the most likable actors around, and former Woody Allen muse Scarlett Johansson, on Friday, Dec. 23, the kiddie-oriented We Bought a Zoo brought in a mere $3 million, landing at no. 6 on the North American box-office chart according to early, rough estimates found at both The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.com. Directed by Cameron Crowe, who has been luckier with Tom Cruise (Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky), and distributed by 20th Century Fox, We Bought a Zoo is expected to gross less than $8 million at 3,117 locations over the three-day weekend. Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, The Adventures of Tintin David Fincher/Rooney Mara/The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Has Good (Not Great) Opening Day: Box Office With Tom Cruise performing impossible stunts in Brad Bird's live-action Mission: Impossible IV – Ghost Protocol, Tintin's motion-captured stunts in Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn may look a tad less compelling. At least in English-speaking North America. Whereas The Adventures of Tintin has grossed $239 million overseas, in the Us/Canada the adventure tale featuring the intrepid Belgian hero opened with a disappointing $2.3 million on Wednesday, Dec. 21, according to figures found at Box Office Mojo. (Tintin had already earned about $3.2 million in Quebec, where it opened on Dec. 9.) Tintin's top foreign market is France, where it has pulled in $53m; it's currently the fourth biggest 2011 release in that country, after local box-office hits Intouchables and Nothing to Declare,...

Breaking Dawn movie: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart on Isle Esme It's the holiday season, filled with joy and happiness and kinky vampire sex. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring Robert Pattinson as the lovestruck vampire Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart as the vampire-impregnated human Bella Swan Cullen, and Taylor Lautner as the vampire-phobic werewolf Jacob Black, passed the $650 million mark at the worldwide box office last weekend after earning $8.7 million overseas and $4.19 million in North America. The latest Twilight movie is now well on its way to the $700 million mark. Breaking Dawn 1 has collected an estimated $391.4 million internationally up until Sunday, December 18, in addition to $266.97 million in the United States and Canada up until Monday, December 19, for a grand total of $658.37 million. Guy Ritchie/Robert Downey Jr/Jude Law/Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows Underwhelms: Box Office
The silver lining at the North American box office this weekend is the Brad Bird/Tom Cruise $140 million-budgeted combo Mission: Impossible IV – Ghost Protocol, which has raked in an impressive, IMAX-boosted $4.6 million — including $1m from Thursday midnight showings — at only 425 locations (300 of which IMAX theaters). As per The Hollywood Reporter, Ghost Protocol should bring in $12 million by Sunday evening. If so, that would represent an outstanding, even considering the IMAX surcharges, $28,400 per-theater average.
For comparison's sake, Mission: Impossible III earned $47.74 million at 4,054 theaters in July 2006 (approx. $58 million today), averaging $11,776 per site (approx. $14,000 today). At a little more than one tenth of the number of theaters, Ghost Protocol is expected to take in more than one fifth of the inflation-adjusted gross of its predecessor.

Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson in Bill Condon's Breaking Dawn: Part 1
Starring Kristen Stewart as a pregnant human, Robert Pattinson as a vampire, and Taylor Lautner as a six-packed werewolf, Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is now the third-biggest blockbuster at the North American box office, having surpassed Todd Phillips' comedy sequel The Hangover: Part II last weekend. According to figures found at Box Office Mojo, The Hangover 2, which stars Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Zach Galifianakis, and Ed Helms stranded in Thailand, has collected $254.46 million in the domestic market. After 27 days (up until Dec. 14), Breaking Dawn 1 has raked in $261.45 million. No wonder Star Trek's George Takei is terrified of the Twilight menace.

The worst weekend at the North American box office since September 2008, with an overall take of $78 million. That's this very weekend (Dec. 9-11), when Garry Marshall's critically lambasted Warner Bros. release New Year's Eve succeeded in topping the domestic box-office chart with a meager $13.7 million, according to studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo. At 3,505 locations, New Year's Eve averaged a not-at-all celebratory $3,910 per site.
Thanks to a prestigious cast including Oscar winners Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, and Hilary Swank; Oscar nominees Michelle Pfeiffer and Abigail Breslin; and teen idol Zac Efron, Sex and the City's Sarah Jessica Parker, Two and Half Men's Ashton Kutcher, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon co-star Josh Duhamel (photo), some had been expecting that New Year's Eve would open around $30 million. Later on, $20 million became an acceptable figure. But $13.7 million? Chances are New Year's Eve won't get even close to matching...

Michelle Pfeiffer, New Year's Eve Starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, and countless others, Garry Marshall's Warner Bros. release New Year's Eve opened way below expectations on Friday, Dec. 9, collecting an estimated $5.08 million according to Box Office Mojo. The all-star omnibus romantic comedy-drama will be lucky if it reaches $16-17 million over the weekend, whereas some had been expecting an opening around $30 million. Screening at 3,505 sites, New Year's Eve averaged a meager $1,449 per theater. Kristen Stewart/Robert Pattinson Breaking Dawn Passes $250 Million Mark in North America: Box Office
Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen, Breaking Dawn Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 topped the North American box office for the 20th consecutive day on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Breaking Dawn was barely above the $1 million-per-day mark, taking in $1.06 million, but that was enough to bring its grand domestic total up to $250.45 million, according to Box Office Mojo. For comparison's sake: Chris Weisz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon passed the $250 million mark on Day 16 in early December 2009. David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse passed $250 million also on Day 16 in mid-July 2010. Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight cumed at $192.76 million in early 2009. Now, on the positive side Breaking Dawn has been losing steam at a slower pace than New Moon, which fell below the $1m-per-day mark (inflation adjusted) on Day 20. Unless Thursday (Dec. 8) turns out to be an unusually slow day,...

According to Box Office Mojo, Breaking Dawn had collected an estimated $344.8 million internationally as of December 4, in addition to $249.38 million in the United States and Canada as of Dec. 6 for a grand total of $594.18 million. In North America alone, Breaking Dawn added another $1.31 million on Tuesday; last weekend, the latest Twilight movie added $40.4 million internationally (vs. $15.36 million in the Us/Canada). Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Breaking Dawn As reported in a previous article, Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring young movie icons Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, topped the North American box-office chart for the third weekend in a row after collecting an estimated $16.9 million. Breaking Dawn is now the first Twilight movie at the no. 1 spot for three weekends (consecutive or otherwise). Now, in the last hour or so, several people have sent us messages asking what that means in terms of the film's ultimate domestic box-office gross. Well, as mentioned in one my previous posts, Breaking Dawn earned more on its third weekend than any of the other Twilight Saga movies: David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse earned $13.42m in July 2010, Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon earned $15.42m (about $16m today*) on the first weekend in December 2009; and Catherine Hardwicke...

Edward and Bella honeynoon: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart in Breaking Dawn This may have been the slowest weekend at the domestic box office in 2011 — estimates range from $79 to $82 million — but one star continues to shine (even if steadily losing its brilliance): despite an estimated 60% drop-off rate, Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, topped the North American box-office chart for the third weekend in a row. Breaking Dawn has now become the very first Twilight movie at the no. 1 spot on three weekends (consecutive or otherwise). According to Box Office Mojo, Breaking Dawn earned an estimated $16.9 million, easily beating The Muppets' $11.2 million at no. 2. Even Martin Scorsese's well-received Hugo, which collected $7.62 million at no. 3, was left behind in terms of per-theater average: at 4,046 locations, Breaking Dawn averaged $4,177 per site; Hugo, despite 3D surcharges, averaged only $4,144 at 1,840. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Breaking Dawn Who wants overweight old men with long white beards when you have available beefy, beardless young werewolves? Well, there are surely many who would rather go for the hairy older men type — or at least for hairy, talking puppets — but those people apparently haven't been going to the movies all that often. Hence … Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring young, hot, and beautiful Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner should top the North American box office for the third weekend in a row. According to Box Office Mojo, Breaking Dawn earned an estimated $5.5 million on Friday. Taylor Lautner's Jacob Black, Breaking Dawn Part 1 (check out his right eye) Christmas is almost here, but vampires and werewolves may continue to exude more box-office appeal than furry, talking, kiddie-friendly puppets. Translation: this weekend, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and a less virginal Kristen Stewart will likely put more butts into more North American movie-theater seats than Kermit the Frog. According to Variety, the Bill Condon-directed The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 should finish the box-office line ahead of The Muppets. As per early, rough estimates, Breaking Dawn is expected to collect another $14-$15 million, while The Muppets should gross $13 million. If those early estimates are correct, that means Breaking Dawn will suffer another steep drop this weekend: -64%. Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed, Breaking Dawn Thanksgiving is a time for families to gather, whether pigging out at the dinner table or watching movies on the big screen. In the last few days, families of some kind or other have flocked to see Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, which grossed about as much in three days (Fri.-Sun.) as The Muppets, the no. 2 movie on the North American box-office chart, in five days (Wed.-Sun.). Nikki Reed, Taylor Lautner, Breaking Dawn Movies espousing family values continue to dominate the North American box office this family-oriented Thanksgiving Week. There are family Christmases and families of movie lovers, in addition to penguin families, muppet families, movie-set families, and vampire families. There's also interspecies sex (vampire + human), but we won't go there. Directed by Bill Condon, and starring Robert Pattinson as the lovestruck vampire Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart as the pregnant human Bella Swan Cullen, and Taylor Lautner as the ready-to-imprint werewolf Jacob Black, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 plummeted a horrific 76% on Friday, after grossing an estimated $16.9 million. But did it really take such a nosedive? It's worth remembering a minor detail: Breaking Dawn Part 1 collected more than $30 million at Thursday midnight screenings last week. There was no such box-office-inflating luxury this week. Hence, Breaking Dawn's actual drop-off rate was a more tolerable 59%. For comparison's...

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Breaking Dawn Breaking Dawn Box-Office Path: Comparisons to Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse Here's another The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 box-office comparison, but without including any other Twilight movie. I'll start the comparison with a question: Why did Bill Condon accept to direct Breaking Dawn Part 1? Perhaps Condon wanted to work with Kristen Stewart and/or Robert Pattinson and/or Taylor Lautner and/or any one or more of the film's many supporting players. Perhaps. But consider this: on one single weekend, Breaking Dawn 1 made more money than all four previous Bill Condon-directed movies combined, despite critical raves, Academy Award wins and nominations, and the presence of Ian McKellen, Lynn Redgrave, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Timothy Hutton, Peter Sarsgaard, Chris O'Donnell, Beyoncé Knowles, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, Danny Glover, and John Krasinski. The box-office grosses of Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh,...

Breaking Dawn movie: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart in Isle Esme waterfall scene Breaking Dawn/Twilight Movies: Two Among All-Time Top Five Weekend Openings Directed by Bill Condon, and starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 opened this weekend, grossing an estimated $139.5 million in North America. Below are a few comparisons that may — or may not — help to predict how far the Breaking Dawn movie adaptation will go before it starts losing steam at the Us/Canada box office. (Warning: If percentage signs make you dizzy, you'd better skip this article.) In relation to opening-day Friday (after deducting Thursday midnight screening grosses), Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon was down about 1% on Saturday and Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight was down 26%. Breaking Dawn Part 1 was down about 2%. (Comparisons to David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse wouldn't work, as Eclipse opened on a Wednesday.

Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 (click on the Edward/Bella photo to enlarge it) Despite poor reviews and the depressed North American box office, Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, collected $139.5 million this weekend (Nov. 18-20), as per studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo. After only three days, Breaking Dawn Part 1 is already no. 16 among the year's top moneymakers, ahead of Super 8 and only slightly behind The Smurfs. Yet, Breaking Dawn did end up behind Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon's $142.7 million back in November 2009. And if inflation is taken into account, the gap is considerably wider, as New Moon would have grossed approx. $151.5 million in 2011 dollars. But no matter; Breaking Dawn now has the fifth largest opening weekend (not adjusted for...

Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Bill Condon's poorly received The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, starring favorites Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, ended up a notch behind Chris Weitz's The Twilight Saga: New Moon on Friday, according to studio estimates found at Box Office Mojo: $72 million vs. $72.7 million. If higher ticket prices are taken into account, Breaking Dawn was further behind than just a few hundred thousand dollars, as New Moon would have earned approx. $77 million today. Even so, Breaking Dawn Part 1 has helped to — however temporarily — lift the doom and gloom that have been plaguing the North American box office through much of 2011. Not accounting for inflation, Breaking Dawn 1 had the third-largest single-day take ever, after David Yates' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (with a 3D enhanced $91.2 million) and New Moon, and ahead of no. 4 entry The Twilight Saga: Eclipse...

Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart in David Slade's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse We all know that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, members of the Cullen Clan (Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, and Kellan Lutz), the Volturi Clan (among them Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Charlie Bewley, Daniel Cudmore), and the Wolf Pack (Julia Jones, Tyson Houseman, Alex Meraz, BooBoo Stewart, Kiowa Gordon, etc.) will be coming back for the Bill Condon-directed The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn parts I and II. Summit Entertainment has recently announced a slew of other supporting players, as Breaking Dawn offers a whole array of new characters. Most important of all is that nine-year-old Mackenzie Foy will be playing Renesmee, Edward and Bella's half-vampire, half-human daughter, who grows remarkably fast and can make people see her thoughts — which is pretty much the opposite of Bella, whose thoughts no one can read.

With appearances from Twilight’s Edi Gathegi and Tyson Houseman, Being Human’s Russell Tovey and Aiden Turner and of course Doctor Who’s Paul Kasey it seems this year’s London Film and Comic Con gathering was somewhat of a sausage fest.
But as the creators from the Screen Team Show on YouTube have pointed out, it’s not all about the men at these festivals. Women have a huge effect on the audience.

After all, we did have appearances from Terminator 3’s Kristanna Loken and Being Human’s gorgeous ghost Lenora Crichlow. So remember, next year (15th, 16th & 17th July) lets make it one for the girls!

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse sees the age-old battle between vampires and werewolves reach a new level.
The love triangle between Bella (Kristen Stewart), vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and wolfboy Jacob (Taylor Lautner) reaches a turning point and adds to the rivalry between the supernatural creatures.
Jacob heads the native American wolf pack and is joined by Chaske Spencer as leader Sam Uley, his best friends Embry (Kiowa Gordon) and Quil (Tyson Houseman), as well as fellow werewolves Paul (portrayed by Alex Meraz), Jared (Bronson Pelletier), and newcomer Seth (Booboo Stewart).
For 16-year-old Stewart, it's exciting to join the franchise and be part of its big-screen success.
He said: "Twilight is such a big deal right now, it's like Star Wars. It's an honour to be in these movies."
Spencer added: "The camaraderie with the other werewolves is the best part of being a wolf - it's like a little family unit.

The full list of cities (ranging from Detroit to Atlanta to Kona, Hawaii) went up on Friday, but which stars would be appearing wasn't known until after they showed up in theaters.

Set to hit theaters around the globe at the stroke of midnight, "Twilight" mania has taken over the movie world.
With the third installment of the hit vampire series opening in a record number of theaters - 4,416 screens - there's definitely the expectation of Huge earnings for the Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner led film.
Stirring up a little relationship talk prior to the release, producer Wyck Godfrey recently spoke with Time magazine of the Kristen/Robert off-screen chatter.
Of the real-life romance, Godfrey tells, "I honestly don’t think of it in terms of business. It doesn’t affect our core business at all. The thing I do think about is, Oh my God, I hope they stay together. Because it could be awkward on set in the next movie if they have a huge falling out. It’s like, Wow, they have to portray this love story through two more movies.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Eclipse The Twilight Saga: Eclipse reviews are in. The ones featured below are definitely more downbeat than the two positive ones from trade papers Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. (Some of the reviewers clearly haven’t read the book on which the movie is based — or if they have, they weren’t paying attention while reading it, e.g., not getting what the Volturi are doing near Forks.) Directed by David Slade, Eclipse stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. As in Twilight and New Moon, Melissa Rosenberg adapted Stephenie Meyer‘s novel. The supporting cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel, Dakota Fanning, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Billy Burke, Daniel Cudmore, Anna Kendrick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Michael Welch, Alex Meraz, Tyson Houseman, BooBoo Stewart, Bronson Pelletier, and Jodelle Ferland. Eclipse opens tonight at midnight. Fans are already lining up.
