Adkins movies are commonly known for relative low budget flicks, and you cannot beat the Debt Collectors in that department.

However this movie has it all. Some good action scenes, some good actors, and the story itself reminds a bit on the movie "Unthinkable", which is a clear 10 although very much unheard of, because of the story. Some scenes even very similar.

Altogether I just wanted to give it a try and expected to watch maybe 20 minutes of it but watched it fully through. Very good movie.

The bad; sound is a bit off standard, the 'score' (music) a bit annoying, but the story makes up for it. I usually do not recommend movies, but this one is/should be surely a hit for action fans who like it a bit deeper.

Not one of the high priced productions, but two very entertaining movies. The two main characters suit so perfectly that you wish they would have made more sequels.

Its not everybody's cup of tea, sarcasm all over the place I personally would recommend this movie and the first one to everybody who is looking for a decent action movie that keeps you entertained.

For a low budget production it should receive 10 stars, yet I measure it with the multi million dollar productions and even there it is surely an 8 star movie, the first one a 9 star. Please give it a try, like I did, and you will not be disappointed. Guaranteed.

I do not know what I want to say, but I want to say something so people won't waste money on this piece of whatever one wants to call it.

I am a big SciFi fan, yet something like that I never experienced. Was it the effects that ruined it, was it the lame story, the extra-lame acting of the second Smith in the movie, the directing of someone who got after Signs too much credit and couldn't deliver since (with the exception of the low budget Devil). I really cant say. Its just very disappointing and I wished I would not have seen it, not spend the time nor the money. But I wanted to know it for myself if the critics are right, since they are so many times wrong (in my opinion).

Well, they are right, and yet they even gave the movie way too much credit. Probably because of Will Smith.

The year is not over, but I do not think that After earth will be topped in the category for "the worst movie of 2013"!

I had to drive over 70miles one way to watch this movie and was it worth it? Hard to say if one watched "the iceman tapes" from HBO. To me personally it was disappointing, but I probably expected way too much. So lower your expectations and you will have a nice evening in the cinema.

Shannon is great, superb, I guess nobody could have played him better, but the editing, the storytelling is very abrupt and a bit too edgy. Its not a good fellas, its not even close to it, don't expect even a mob flick. Its an OK movie that had so much more potential. YET it is still worth watching since you don't see movies like that nowadays very often.

The potential of the story would have been an 11, this movie is a 7 with an extra point for Shannons performance. And in relevance I should mention that I would give broken city a 3.5, gangster squad a 4.5, so I guess people who watch this movie with not so high expectations will love it!

PS. No "the iceman" did NOT got his nick because he was so cold, like another reviewer wrote, but because he froze a body for two years. The officials gave him then that name. All this is well known through the "iceman tapes".

It took quite a while until this movie comes to the US, I do not know why it took so long, yet I hope it gets the response it deserves (I saw it in Europe months ago already).

Sean Penn is just amazing and the whole movie is something you don't see much in US cinemas. Its so different that there is almost no comparison. Of course it will be a big hit within the Gothic scene, but also the regular movie fan should give it a try. Its very slow paced road trip, but Penn carries that overwhelmingly with his outstanding performance of the character, who reminds of course of Robert Smith, but in a superb way. The story is very simple and so I leave that totally out, since it would spoil it right away.

My favorite scene is when he visits the show from David Bryne playing "This must be the place", keep it in mind and enjoy the show! Its certainly an experience for real movie fans!

(That it won't be a huge box office hit, most likely, should not hold anybody back who wants to see a good movie!)

Without the first movie, this one would be a total failure, yet due to the repeating characters its somehow watchable. Just that this movie is to the contrary of Taken a very cheesy rip-off.

Maggie Grace, as cute as she is, is nerve recking, how an almost 30year old can play an 18year old is anyway a mystery. Liam Neeson looks sometimes so bored around like I looked when watching the movie, wishing it would be over. And then the villains, at first mean and smart and then miraculously dumb and weak.

Its for the 13year old movie goers probably great entertainment, but for the bit older ones I would advise From Paris with Love, same fast paces, same Producer, same type of non-sense making and yet a way better entertainment.

IF I would not like Neeson so much, I would give this at most a 2 and I hope he gets 20-30million to make the third installation, yet it actually can only get better from here on. In the end it was anyway just about the money....

give this a try! You won't be disappointed!

Some people call it Tarantino Rip off, who cares! I was waiting for a movie like that for about 10years, and its NOT disappointing in NO way.

You will be entertained throughout, see some familiar faces and the story is also OK with an interesting twist. Whitaker at its best...keep it in mind! The only better movie I saw this year was Drive and that says it all where this movie is heading!

And JA, it has lots of parts in it that look "familiar", with just different actors and dialogues, but hey, there are franchises of movies out there that are way way worse! And if they are not bad to lots of people, why is this outstanding one bashed??

Btw Tarantino ripped off movies himself...so who sits in a glasshouse should not throw with stones!

(I write not many reviews here, but the average rating here, which I expected to be way higher, made me do so!)

Well, I guess its all said in the title. I actually cannot even think of a better movie right away from the last decade! This movie has it all...fantastic acting, a strange but warm atmosphere, no dialogue where the superb music does the job to get the emotion through, little gestures of the actors that make a scene more thoughtful than multimillion dollar effects.

I have to say that I am not a fan of Gosling, but to imagine any other actor to play this role is impossible. Since its supposedly a remake of the 70's movie Driver I watched that one too and have to say that although there are similarities its a total different movie.

Its not the right movie for people who expect action throughout, expect long lasting words with no meaning in the end, but its a movie for people who can empathize with the characters, feel and suffer with them surrounded by a perfect soundtrack.

The only "negative" aspect I can think of, why the heck does it take so long to come out as DVD...I saw it 5times already and its becoming expensive! ;-) Anyhow, conclusion: PERFECT MOVIE! Thanks to the directors, actors and producers who made it possible.

HangOver 1 is one of the best mature comedies I've ever seen and probably no one could have topped that or even remained on the same level. The movie is actually so much of a remake that the storyline is just put on a different location, some dialogues became rewritten and you are done.

Nevertheless, ONLY if you expect the same superb movie than the first part was you will be disappointed! I personally had a few really good laughs out of it and had a good time, but I've read that some people downgraded that movie because it was not on the same level than #1. This is plain wrong, because Hangover 2 STILL outshines lots of other comedies out there!

It could have been...should have been...but was not anything else than another Teenage flick. The story is so shallow that one can, with a bit of imagination, see the end after 10minutes into the movie.

And then of course Fanning, who does not have enough of Dakota gets here the overdose. She looks and acts like her sister and that's that. I watched it because the previews were actually pretty good and I expected maybe a bit too much, but was nevertheless very disappointed to end up in a Teenage Alien Movie with all possible clichés in it! It reminded me in some occasions on Stand by me, but that was probably just me.

Conclusion: If you want your up to 14year old kids have a good time, this is the movie to watch. IF you are a bit older, get a DVD and save your money!

Although it a common action/thriller movie with lots of shootings its the actual theme of the movie that makes it worth watching. Child prostitution! A theme that is very very rarely covered and yet makes, according to the end of the movie billions of dollars each year.

Taken is the only movie I can remember that also had this theme. Elephant White is not as good as Taken, its missing some elements, but the story goes a bit deeper. Bacon plays Bacon, as usual, just his English accent its kinda funny.

Altogether, like I said, worth watching, for those who like action movies and for those who won't be shocked or disturbed to see how harsh real life really can be and obviously is, for some children!

I am/was a big Fantastic 4 fan, the comics at least and I wish really really that they would have kept the hands of at least that superheros. I did not have high hopes, since except Batman begins and Dark knight and to some level Daredevil were in my opinion worthy to be called super hero movies, but this...this is just a sellout!

This movie I wished, I truly do, that I would not have watched it. Not because of the loss of money or time, but because of the loss of belief that Marvel aka Stan Lee does not "everything" for a few million bucks.

I did understand Spider Man, which was by far not as good as it could have been, but the kids need to see colorful things but this, well before I start over again: A waste of money and time and EVERY Fanastic four fan of the comics should NOT watch this! Beware!

For those who liked Grindhouse (death proof) this is the real deal, for those who like good entertainment for the money, its just great, for those who like romance comedies and deep thoughtful stories...well you will not read this anyway.

Everybody knows that Nicolas Cage made quite a few crappy movies in the past years, Port of Orleans excluded, and one is asking if he wants to spend the time and money for a flick with him. Also me. On top the bad critics, it almost did not make me watch that movie after my last experience with season of the witch. I would have missed something, like so many did! Its to me one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in the past year!

A straight 8 for Drive angry and I would love to see more of this type of stuff! Rodriguez or Tarantino could not have made it better!

I do not understand how people can downgrade this movie so badly, the acting is great, the story is excellent, one of the best I've seen in the past 12months and the movie itself is also way better than the most movies coming around on a daily basis. Sadly its not a high budget movie, so the common public would become aware of it, but downgrading something like that is pretty sad. If that is a 2 or 3, then the grading rates should go in the future down to minus 10 at least, because there are a lot of worse movies out there!

Its the same with another Cuba Gooding movie, Sacrifice, its also way better than the reviews show, but thats is a different subject. Maybe he is not so liked anymore...:-)

To me The Hit List is a good 7-8...not a 10 (except the story itself), but in regards of the downgrading, I upgrade it a bit. The story of the movie is simple, be careful what you wish for, even when you are drunk...because sometimes wishes come true!

More I do not want to spoil. Conclusion: absolutely worth the time watching and money as well...!
